Novel higher-dimensional regular black holes in general relativity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics

We present a formalism for constructing higher-dimensional regular black holes in general relativity coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics, and propose a new class of electrically charged solutions that unifies the Bardeen and Hayward models in a single analytic form valid for any $D\geq4$. The Bardeen and Hayward solutions are shown to have a correct Maxwellian weak-field limit in five and six dimensions, respectively. The matter sector is written as a Hamiltonian density $\mathcal{H}(P)$ containing only fixed coupling constants, so that the mass and the charge enter as integration constants. The resulting theory has a two-parameter family of solutions, of which a one-parameter subfamily is regular, with the mass tied to the charge. We locate the radius at which the Lagrangian $Ł(F)$ splits into two branches and show that it is always hidden inside the horizon for $D=4$ but can lie outside it near extremality for $D\geq5$. The null and weak energy conditions hold everywhere, while the strong energy condition is violated near the core. Building on our recent result that the first law holds in its standard form once the theory is fixed, we derive the horizon potential in closed form, the extended first law with the couplings as thermodynamic variables, and a generalized Smarr formula.

Analysing geodesic motion in Bocharova-Bronnikov-Melnikov-Bekenstein spacetime

In this paper, we explored novel feature of the Bocharova-Bronnikov-Melnikov-Bekenstein (BBMB) black hole by analyzing geodesic motion. We first examined its thermodynamics and showed that Hawking temperature equals to zero. We investigated motion of both massive and massless particles around the BBMB black hole and studied the characteristic radii, namely, marginally stable circular orbit (MSCO) and marginally bound orbit (MBO) for massive particles orbiting the BBMB black hole. Additionally, we found that the energy efficiency of massive particles in the BBMB spacetime can reach up to $8\%$. We also studied the capture cross section of massless (photon) and massive particles by the BBMB black hole. From the equations of motion, we derived the radial function crucial for determining the critical value of the impact parameter for photons and particles. Comparing these findings with the Schwarzschild spacetime, we observed significant differences in gravitational properties. Specifically, the impact parameter for a photon is smaller in the Schwarzschild field than in the BBMB field, indicating weaker gravity around the BBMB black hole, as corroborated by the closer location of the photon sphere in the BBMB spacetime. We derived explicit expressions for the pericentric precession and the deflection angle of light by the BBMB black hole, along with the trajectory of massive particles orbiting the black hole. We showed that test particles on elliptical trajectories experience pericenter shifts, with pericentric precession in the BBMB spacetime being slightly less than that predicted by Einstein's general theory of relativity.

Motion of spinning particles in non asymptotically flat spacetimes

The assumption of asymptotic flatness for isolated astrophysical bodies may be considered an approximation when one considers a cosmological context where a cosmological constant or vacuum energy is present. In this framework we study the motion of spinning particles in static, spherically symmetric and asymptotically non-flat spacetimes with repulsive cosmological vacuum energy and quintessential field. Due to the combined effects of gravitational attraction and cosmological repulsion, the region where stable circular orbits are allowed is restricted by an innermost and an outermost stable circular orbits. We show that taking into account the spin of test particles may enlarge or shrink the region of allowed stable circular orbits depending on whether the spin is co-rotating or counter-rotating with the angular momentum of the particles.

Magnetized Particle Motion Around Black Hole in Braneworld

We investigate the motion of a magnetized particle orbiting around a black hole in braneworld placed in asymptotically uniform magnetic field. The influence of brane parameter on effective potential of the radial motion of magnetized spinning particle around the braneworld black hole using Hamilton-Jacobi formalism is studied. It is found that circular orbits for photons and slowly moving particles may become stable near $r = 3M$. It was argued that the radii of the innermost stable circular orbits are sensitive on the change of brane parameter. Similar discussion without Weil parameter has been considered by de Felice et all in Ref. \refcite{rs99,98}.

Magnetized Particle Capture Cross Section for Braneworld Black Hole

Capture cross section of magnetized particle (with nonzero magnetic moment) by braneworld black hole in uniform magnetic field is considered. The magnetic moment of particle was chosen as it was done by \citet{rs99} and for the simplicity particle with zero electric charge is chosen. It is shown that the spin of particle as well as the brane parameter are to sustain the stability of particles circularly orbiting around the black hole in braneworld i.e. spin of particles and brane parameter try to prevent the capture by black hole.
