Supremum, infimum and hyperlimits in the non-Archimedean ring of Colombeau generalized numbers

It is well-known that the notion of limit in the sharp topology of sequences of Colombeau generalized numbers $\widetilde{\mathbb{R}}$ does not generalize classical results. E.g.~the sequence $\frac{1}{n}\not\to0$ and a sequence $(x_{n})_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ converges \emph{if} and only if $x_{n+1}-x_{n}\to0$. This has several deep consequences, e.g.~in the study of series, analytic generalized functions, or sigma-additivity and classical limit theorems in integration of generalized functions. The lacking of these results is also connected to the fact that $\widetilde{\mathbb{R}}$ is necessarily not a complete ordered set, e.g.~the set of all the infinitesimals does not have neither supremum nor infimum. We present a solution of these problems with the introduction of the notions of hypernatural number, hypersequence, close supremum and infimum. In this way, we can generalize all the classical theorems for the hyperlimit of a hypersequence. The paper explores ideas that can be applied to other non-Archimedean settings.

Semileptonic B decays and the inclusive determination of |V(ub)|

We present a new theoretical framework for the study of $B\to X_u \ell ν$ decays, which includes all known perturbative and non-perturbative contributions and a description of leading and subleading Fermi motion effects. The perturbative and non-perturbative regimes are separated by a ``hard'' Wilsonian cutoff $μ\sim 1$ GeV. We bring into focus some problems related to the high $q^2$ region and to Weak Annihilation effects. We provide estimates of the CKM parameter $|V_{ub}|$ using the described framework and discuss the related theoretical uncertainty.

Inclusive semileptonic B decays and the determination of |V_ub|

We study the triple differential distribution of B-> Xu l nu, consistently including all perturbative and non-perturbative effects through O(alphas^2 beta_0) and O(1/mb^3). The Fermi motion is parameterized in terms of a single light-cone function for each structure function and for any value of q^2, accounting for all subleading effects. We discuss the problems and uncertainties related to the high-q^2 tail and to Weak Annihilation effects. We work in the kinetic scheme, a framework characterized by a Wilsonian treatment with a hard cutoff mu ~ 1GeV. Our method is illustrated with the extraction of |V_ub| from some of the latest experimental data, providing a detailed estimate of the theoretical uncertainty.

Fantappie's group as an extension of special relativity on Cantorian space-time

In this paper we will analyze the Fantappie group and its properties in connection with Cantorian space-time. Our attention will be focused on the possibility of extending special relativity. The cosmological consequences of such extension appear relevant, since thanks to the Fantappie group, the model of the Big Bang and that of stationary state become compatible. In particular, if we abandon the idea of the existence of only one time gauge, since we do not see the whole Universe but only a projection, the two models become compatible. In the end we will see the effects of the projective fractal geometry also on the galactic and extra-galactic dynamics.

Fingerprint based bio-starter and bio-access

In the paper will be presented a safety and security system based on fingerprint technology. The results suggest a new scenario where the new cars can use a fingerprint sensor integrated in car handle to allow access and in the dashboard as starter button.
