On the large N convergence of matrix models

In this paper, the large N behavior of a supersymmetric matrix model is compared with its exact continuum description. We concentrate on the large N limit of a supersymmetric matrix model describing a supermembrane with central charge on a toroidally compactified target space. We analyze, on the one hand, the supermembrane model formulated on a differentiable compact torus without boundary, with structure group given by the area-preserving diffeomorphisms, and, on the other hand, the associated regularized $SU(N)$ model. We emphasize in our analysis the structure of the constraints of the regularized model, which generate the $SU(N)$ algebra and reproduce the area-preserving diffeomorphism algebra in the large N limit, together with the topological information associated with the central charge of the model. We explain the role of the central charge in the compactified supermembrane and how it allows a top-down $SU(N)$ regularization. It is known that the regularized model has discrete spectrum. We prove, in the semiclassical approximation of the models, that in the large N limit the eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of the supersymmetric matrix model are in one to one correspondence with, and converge exactly to, the eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian of the supermembrane (M2-brane) with central charge. Finally, we discuss some physical consequences of this result.

Hyperbolic polytrope

In this work, we study self-gravitating objects that obey a polytropic equation of state in hyperbolic symmetry. Specifically, we describe in detail the steps to derive the Lane-Emden equation from the structure equations of the system. To integrate the equations numerically, we propose the Cosenza-Herrera-Esculpi-Witten anisotropy and study the cases $γ\ne 1$ and $γ= 1$ in the parameter space of the models. We find that the matter sector exhibits the usual and expected behavior for certain values in this parameter space: energy density (in absolute value) and radial pressure are decreasing functions and vanish at the surface, while the mass function is increasing toward the surface. We find that the anisotropy of the system is positive and decreasing, consistent with the behavior of the radial pressure, which reaches a local minimum at the surface (i.e., the pressure gradient is zero at the surface). We also study the compactness of the dense objects as a function of the polytropic index and obtain that it has an upper bound given by the maximum value it reaches for a certain $n$. Some extensions of the work and future proposals are discussed.

Double relativistic master polytrope for anisotropic matter

We present a detailed analysis of a general relativistic static spherical symmetric distribution in which both the radial and tangential pressures follow a master polytropic equation of state that generalizes the standard treatment and avoids the appearance of singularities in the system. In particular, we find the corresponding Lane-Emden equation and integrate it for a wide range of values of the parameters involved. We explore the parameter space with the aim to find the set of parameters leading to reasonable physical solutions. Also, we considered the effect of spherically symmetric perturbations of the matter variables in order to analyze the possible apparition of cracking within the compact distribution.

Braneworld-Klein-Gordon system in the framework of gravitational decoupling

We analyze the effective field equations of the Randall-Sundrum braneworld coupled with a Klein-Gordon scalar field through the minimal geometric deformation decoupling method (MGD-decoupling). We introduce two different ways to apply the MGD-decoupling method to obtain new solutions for this enlarged system. We also compare the behavior of the new solutions with those obtained directly from the Randall-Sumdrum braneworld without coupling to the scalar field.

Gravitational Cracking of General Relativistic Polytropes: a generalized scheme

We discuss the effect that small fluctuations of both local anisotropy and energy density, may have on the occurrence of cracking in spherical compact objects satisfying a polytropic equation of state. A systematic scheme to bring the fluid configurations out of hydrostatic equilibrium is revisited. Various models of polytropes are considered and it is shown that departures from equilibrium may lead to the appearance of cracking for a wide range of values of the parameters involved. Prospective applications of the obtained results to some astrophysical scenarios are pointed out.

Braneworld Gravity under gravitational decoupling

The main objective of this work is to study in some detail the Randall-Sundrum gravity under the gravitational decoupling through the minimal geometric deformation approach (MGD-decoupling). We show a family of new black hole solutions as well as new exact interior solutions for self-gravitating stellar systems and we discuss the corresponding matching conditions.

New algorithms to obtain analytical solutions of Einstein's equations in isotropic coordinates

The main objective of this work, is to show two inequivalent methods to obtain new spherical symmetric solutions of Einstein's Equations with anisotropy in the pressures in isotropic coordinates. This was done inspired by the MGD method, which is known to be valid for line elements in Schwarzschild coordinates. As example, we obtained four analytical solutions using Gold III as seed solution. Two solutions, out of four, (one for each algorithm), satisfy the physical acceptability conditions.

Cracking of general relativistic anisotropic polytropes

We discuss the effect that small fluctuations of local anisotropy of pressure, and energy density, may have on the occurrence of cracking in spherical compact objects, satisfying a polytropic equation of state. Two different kind of polytropes are considered. For both, it is shown that departures from equilibrium may lead to the appearance of cracking, for a wide range of values of the parameters defining the polytrope. Prospective applications of the obtained results, to some astrophysical scenarios, are pointed out.
