A Mathematical Framework for Reading the Autopsias' Meta - Compositional System

Background. New forms of music writing using computers have arisen in the past 20 years. Most of them use the capacities of digital manipulation of data like animation, algorithmic processing, cinematic view, and much more. These scores use dynamic musicography, and all of them share a problem. They have readability problems. We will argue that this problem can be addressed by mathematical tools. Aims. Take the Autopsias [Autopsies] meta-compositional system as a study case for starting the construction of a mathematical framework that can overview the readability for cynetic musicography. The Autopsias system is the process of transforming a musical score dynamically. Methodology. We will start to build a mathematical framework by taking a group of basic topological concepts, and applying them after a bridge between a printed score and a dynamic computational re-appropriation of it has taken place. We will observe the writing and the performing of the several performances of the Autopsias composition, and analyze them from a mathematical perspective, in order to get the ability to start constructing a new set of orthographical tools for the performance of dynamic musicography. Main Contribution. The performances of Autopsias show that mathematics, as with pitch-class sets, can be helpful for understanding music information, as well as its performance. Also show the necessity of augmenting the set of orthographic rules, in order to improve the dialog between composers and performers.

Diffusion and Discrete Temporal Models of the Growth of Free-Ranging Cats in Urban Areas

The survival of the domestic cat (Felis catus) in various ecosystems has become increasingly relevant due to its impact on wildlife, public health, and society. In countries like Mexico, social factors such as abandonment have led to the feralization of the species and an unexpected increase in its population in urban areas. To design and implement effective population control methods, a thorough analysis of the species' population dynamics, along with the social factors influencing it, is necessary. We propose a reaction-diffusion model to simulate the natural dispersal of the population within a bounded domain. After exploring the species' spreading ability, we construct a complex dynamical system based on the biological characteristics of cats and their intraspecific and interspecific interactions, which we explain and study in detail. Both deterministic and stochastic parameters are considered to enhance the realism of the simulations. Our results indicate that the population reaches equilibrium, highlighting the need for control methods combined with social regulations to achieve sustainability in the system.

Computing Fundamental Constants in the FLRW Universe using the Hawking Radiation of the Cosmological Horizon

In this work, we compute the universe temperature for the cosmological horizon for the FLRW metric. For this purpose, we consider a scalar field on the cosmological horizon. This scalar field satisfies the Klein-Gordon equation in a curved space-time. Recently, some authors like Barrow, Bekenstein and others have proposed that the fundamental constants might vary with time. Along these lines of thought, we derive the electromagnetic momentum and electromagnetic field for the FLRW universe. This enables us to obtain a temporal dependence of the Hubble parameter which, in turn, induces a time dependence of the fundamental constants. In order to validate this model, the theoretical predictions are then compared with observational data as a function of the redshift, $z$, for the universe expansion. As a consequence, this time dependence on the fundamental constants makes it possible to predict a change in time of the informational content for the entropy of the universe surface area, this is expressed as the bit number by using the holographic principle.

Synchronization Fronts in a Spatially Extended System of Hybrid Rayleigh-van der Pol Oscillators

Numerous biological systems exhibit transitions to synchronised oscillations via a population-density-dependant mechanism known as quorum sensing. Here we propose a model system, based on spatially distributed limit-cycle oscillators, that allows us to capture the dynamics of synchronization fronts by taking the continuum limit as the number of coupled oscillators tends to infinity. We explore analytically a family of wavefront-type solutions to the system in terms of model parameters and corroborate its validity via a numerical finite-difference method algorithm. Finally, we review our results in light of some experimental systems in synthetic biology based on a synchronised quorum of genetic clocks, coupled via a diffusive auto-inducer signalling molecule analogue to our Hooke-like coupling scheme within the proposed hybrid Rayleigh-van der Pol model.

Spatial dynamics of flower organ formation

Understanding the emergence of biological structures and their changes is a complex problem. On a biochemical level, it is based on gene regulatory networks (GRN) consisting on interactions between the genes responsible for cell differentiation and coupled in a greater scale with external factors. In this work we provide a systematic methodological framework to construct Waddington's epigenetic landscape of the GRN involved in cellular determination during the early stages of development of angiosperms. As a specific example we consider the flower of the plant \textit{Arabidopsis thaliana}. Our model, which is based on experimental data, recovers accurately the spatial configuration of the flower during cell fate determination, not only for the wild type, but for its homeotic mutants as well. The method developed in this project is general enough to be used in the study of the relationship between genotype-phenotype in other living organisms.
