Geometrical Formulation of Relativistic Mechanics

The relativistic Lagrangian in presence of potentials was formulated directly from the metric, with the classical Lagrangian shown embedded within it. Using it we formulated covariant equations of motion, a deformed Euler-Lagrange equation, and relativistic Hamiltonian mechanics. We also formulate a modified local Lorentz transformation, such that the metric at a point is invariant only under the transformation defined at that point, and derive the formulae for time-dilation, length contraction, and gravitational redshift. Then we compare our formulation under non-relativistic approximations to the conventional ad-hoc formulation, and we briefly analyze the relativistic Lienard oscillator and the spacetime it implies.

Jacobi-Maupertuis metric of Lienard type equations and Jacobi Last Multiplier

We present a construction of the Jacobi-Maupertuis (JM) principle for an equation of the Lienard type, viz \ddot{x} + f(x)x^2 + g(x) = 0 using Jacobi's last multiplier. The JM metric allows us to reformulate the Newtonian equation of motion for a variable mass as a geodesic equation for a Riemannian metric. We illustrate the procedure with examples of Painleve-Gambier XXI, the Jacobi equation and the Henon-Heiles system.

Quasi-Integrability of The KdV System

The quasi-integrable KdV equation has been obtained from the corresponding deformation of the Hamiltonian for the usual KdV system. Following suitable gauge-fixing, it has been found that the quasi-conservation condition is satisfied and an infinite number of anomalous conservation laws are obtained, with some containing possible conserved charges. Judicious choice of deformation of the Hamiltonian clearly leads to a conserved charge, manifesting quasi-integrability, but also creates a hierarchy of higher-derivative equations with at least one conserved charge. A particular quasi-deformation parameterization of the Hamiltonian is found to complement the same of the NLS system, following an approximate equivalence of the two systems obtained earlier, in the weak coupling limit. Single-soliton solutions for all these cases are obtained, with manifest scaling due to the quasi-integrable deformation. Finally, quasi-conservation formulation for the complex coupled generalized KdV system is obtained.

On Geometry of Schmidt Legendre Transformation

A geometrization of Schmidt-Legendre transformation of the second order Lagrangians is proposed by building a proper Tulczyjew's triplet. The symplectic relation between Ostrogradsky-Legendre and Schmidt-Legendre transformations is obtained. Several examples are presented.

Jacobi-Maupertuis-Eisenhart metric and geodesic flows

The Jacobi metric derived from the line element by one of the authors is shown to reduce to the standard formulation in the non-relativistic approximation. We obtain the Jacobi metric for various stationary metrics. Finally, the Jacobi-Maupertuis metric is formulated for time-dependent metrics by including the Eisenhart-Duval lift, known as the Jacobi-Eisenhart metric.

Bäcklund Transformation and Quasi-Integrable Deformation of Mixed Fermi-Pasta-Ulam and Frenkel-Kontorova Models

In this paper we study a non-linear partial differential equation (PDE), proposed by N. Kudryashov [arXiv:1611.06813v1[nlin.SI]], using continuum limit approximation of mixed Fermi-Pasta-Ulam and Frenkel-Kontorova Models. This generalized semi-discrete equation can be considered as a model for the description of non-linear dislocation waves in crystal lattice and the corresponding continuous system can be called mixed generalized potential KdV and sine-Gordon equation. We obtain the Bäcklund transformation of this equation in Riccati form in inverse method. We further study the quasi-integrable deformation of this model.

Jacobi-Maupertius metric and Kepler equation

This article studies the application of the Jacobi-Eisenhart lift, Jacobi metric and Maupertius transformation to the Kepler system. We start by reviewing fundamentals and the Jacobi metric. Then we study various ways to apply the lift to Kepler related systems: first as conformal description and Bohlin transformation of Hooke's oscillator, second in contact geometry, third in Houri's transformation (Houri, Liouville integrability of Hamiltonian systems and spacetime symmetry, http://www.geocities.jp/football\_physicien/publication.html), coupled with Milnor's construction (Milnor, The American Mathematical Monthly 90 (1983) 353-365) with eccentric anomaly.

Regularization of Kepler Problem in $κ$-spacetime

In this paper we regularize the Kepler problem on $κ$-spacetime in several different ways. First, we perform a Moser-type regularization and then we proceed for the Ligon-Schaaf regularization to our problem. In particular, generalizing Heckman-de Laat (J. Symplectic Geom. 10, (2012), 463-473) in the noncommutative context we show that the Ligon-Schaaf regularization map follows from an adaptation of the Moser regularization can be generalized to the Kepler problem on $κ$-spacetime.

Quasi-Integrability in Supersymmetric Sine-Gordon Models

The deformed supersymmetric sine-Gordon model, obtained through known deformation of the corresponding potential, is found to be quasi-integrable, like its non-supersymmetric counterpart, which was observed earlier. The system expectedly possesses finite number of conserved quantities, leaving-out an infinite number of non-conserved anomalous charges. The quasi-integrability of this supersymmetric model heavily rely on the boundary conditions of the potential, otherwise rendered to be completely non-integrable. Moreover, interesting additional algebraic structures appear, absent in the non-supersymmetric counterparts.

Schwarzschild Instanton in Emergent Gravity

In the bottom-up approach of emergent gravity we attempt to find symplectic gauge fields emerging from Euclidean Schwarzschild instanton, which is studied as electromagnetism defined on the symplectic space $(M,ω)$. Geometrical engineering with the emergent metric sets up the Seiberg Witten map between commutative and non-commutative gauge fields, preparing the ground for the evaluation of topological invariants in terms of the underlying gauge theory quantities.

Taub-NUT as Bertrand spacetime with magnetic fields

Based on symmetries Taub-NUT shares with Bertrand spacetime, we cast it as the latter with magnetic fields. Its nature as a Bianchi-IX gravitational instanton and other related geometrical properties are reviewed. We provide an easy derivation and comparison between the spatial Killing-Yano tensors deduced from first-integrals and the corresponding hyperkähler structures and finally verify the existence of a graded Lie-algebra structure via Schouten-Nijenhuis brackets.

Cheillini integrability and quadratically damped oscillators

In this paper a new approach to study an equation of the Lienard type with a strong quadratic damping is proposed based on Jacobi's last multiplier and Cheillini's integrability condition. We obtain a closed form solution of the transcendental characteristic equation of the Lienard type equation using the Lambert W-function.

Noetherian symmetries of noncentral forces with drag term

We consider the Noetherian symmetries of second-order ODEs subjected to forces with nonzero curl. Both position and velocity dependent forces are considered. In the former case the first integrals are shown to follow from the symmetries of the celebrated Emden-Fowler equation.

Chiellini integrability condition, planar isochronous systems and Hamiltonian structures of Liénard equation

Using a novel transformation involving the Jacobi Last Multiplier (JLM) we derive an old integrability criterion due to Chiellini for the Liénard equation. By combining the Chiellini condition for integrability and Jacobi's Last Multiplier the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian of the Liénard equation is derived. We also show that the Kukles equation is the only equation in the Liénard family which satisfies both the Chiellini integrability and the Sabatini criterion for isochronicity conditions. In addition we examine this result by mapping the Liénard equation to a harmonic oscillator equation using tacitly Chiellini's condition. Finally we provide a metriplectic and complex Hamiltonian formulation of the Liénard equation through the use of Chiellini condition for integrability.

An analytic technique for the solutions of nonlinear oscillators with damping using the Abel Equation

Using the Chiellini condition for integrability we derive explicit solutions for a generalized system of Riccati equations $\ddot{x}+αx^{2n+1}\dot{x}+x^{4n+3}=0$ by reduction to the first-order Abel equation assuming the parameter $α\ge 2\sqrt{2(n+1)}$. The technique, which was proposed by Harko \textit{et al}, involves use of an auxiliary system of first-order differential equations sharing a common solution with the Abel equation. In the process analytical proofs of some of the conjectures made earlier on the basis of numerical investigations in \cite{SJKB} is provided.

Monotonicity of the period function of the Liénard equation of second kind

This paper is concerned with the monotonicity of the period function for closed orbits of systems of the Liénard II type equation given by $\ddot{x} + f(x)\dot{x}^{2} + g(x) = 0$. We generalize Chicone's result regarding the monotonicity of the period function to planar Hamiltonian vector fields in the presence of a position dependent mass. Sufficient conditions are also given for the isochronicity of the potential in case of such a system.

Additionally, we investigate their Hamiltonian, Nambu-Poisson and metriplectic characters.
