A Linear Scalarization Proximal Point Method for Quasiconvex Multiobjective Minimization

In this paper we propose a linear scalarization proximal point algorithm for solving arbitrary lower semicontinuous quasiconvex multiobjective minimization problems. Under some natural assumptions and using the condition that the proximal parameters are bounded we prove the convergence of the sequence generated by the algorithm and when the objective functions are continuous, we prove the convergence to a generalized critical point. Furthermore, if each iteration minimize the proximal regularized function and the proximal parameters converges to zero we prove the convergence to a weak Pareto solution. In the continuously differentiable case, it is proved the global convergence of the sequence to a Pareto critical point and we introduce an inexact algorithm with the same convergence properties. We also analyze particular cases of the algorithm obtained finite convergence to a Pareto optimal point when the objective functions are convex and a sharp minimum condition is satisfied.

Logarithmic Quasi-distance Proximal Point Scalarization Method for Multi-Objective Programming

Recently, Gregório and Oliveira developed a proximal point scalarization method (applied to multi-objective optimization problems) for an abstract strict scalar representation with a variant of the logarithmic-quadratic function of Auslender et al. as regularization. In this study, a variation of this method is proposed, using the regularization with logarithm and quasi-distance, which entails losing important properties, such as convexity and differentiability. However, proceeding differently, it is shown that any sequence \{(x^k, z^k)\} \includ R^n \times R^{m}_{++} generated by the method satisfies: \{z^k\} is convergent and \{x^k\} is bounded and its accumulation points are weak pareto solutions of the unconstrained multi-objective optimization problem

Convergence of the Gauss-Newton method for convex composite optimization under a majorant condition

Under the hypothesis that an initial point is a quasi-regular point, we use a majorant condition to present a new semi-local convergence analysis of an extension of the Gauss-Newton method for solving convex composite optimization problems. In this analysis the conditions and proof of convergence are simplified by using a simple majorant condition to define regions where a Gauss-Newton sequence is "well behaved".
