GUP corrections to black hole thermodynamics in the extended phase space approach

In this work, we study corrections to black hole temperature and entropy in the context of the generalized uncertainty principle. In particular, we obtain corrected asymptotically anti de-Sitter black hole solutions following the extended phase space scheme in which the cosmological constant is considered as a thermodynamic pressure satisfying certain equation of state. Among all the possibilities, we consider that the cosmological pressure satisfies either a Polytropic or a Chaplygin equation of state. The physical plausibility of the solutions is studied based on the energy conditions and the associated heat capacity.

$2+1$ Einstein-Klein-Gordon black holes by gravitational decoupling

In this work we study the 2+1 Einstein-Klein-Gordon system in the framework of Gravitational Decoupling. We associate the generic matter decoupling sector with a real scalar field so we can obtain a constraint which allows to close the system of differential equations. The constraint corresponds to a differential equation involving the decoupling functions and the metric of the seed sector and will be independent of the scalar field itself. We show that when the equation admits analytical solutions, the scalar field and the self-interacting potential can be obtained straightforwardly. We found that, in the cases under consideration, it is possible to express the potential as an explicit function of the scalar field only for certain particular cases corresponding to limiting values of the parameters involved.

Four dimensional Einstein-power-Maxwell black hole solutions in scale-dependent gravity

In the present work, we extend and generalize our previous work regarding the scale dependence applied to black holes in the presence of non-linear electrodynamics [1]. The starting point for this study is the Einstein-power-Maxwell theory with a vanishing cosmological constant in (3+1) dimensions, assuming a scale dependence of both the gravitational and the electromagnetic coupling. We further examine the corresponding thermodynamic properties and how these quantities experience deviations from their classical counterparts. We solve the effective Einstein's field equations using the "null energy condition" to obtain analytical solutions. The implications of quantum corrections are also briefly discussed. Finally, we analyze our solutions and compare them to related results in the literature.

Some global, analytical and topological properties of regular black holes

In this work we study regular black holes from a global perspective looking for evading some of the well-known singularity theorems by using their "reverses". Then, model geometries for the slices of typical spherically symmetric, (locally) static four dimensional regular black hole solutions are described from both an analytical and a topological point of view. While the finiteness of both the scalar and Kretchmann curvature of the slices around the regular center determines the geometry of the core, the positive answer to the Poincaré conjecture assures that, under two assumptions, its topology is that of a three-sphere. However, in general, the cores are shown to be $S^3$, $H^3$, $\mathbb{R}\times S^1$ or $S^1\times S^2$, depending whether a de Sitter, anti de Sitter, Nariai or Bertotti-Robinson geometries are employed to describe the slices at the regular center. Then, a description of the aforementioned slices in terms of Seifert fibre spaces is given in order to show that the Euler characteristic of the bundle can be used to track the transition between the core of the regular black hole and the rest of the slices in most of the cases considered in the literature. After Geroch and Tipler's theorems are employed to study the consequences of topology change on regular black hole spacetimes, we show that Borde and Vilenkin's singularity theorem is used to restrict their possible types. We end by noting that Nariai cores can be safely used to construct regular black holes without topology changes.

Anisotropic 2+1 dimensional black holes by gravitational decoupling

In the present paper, we analyze the well-known 2+1 dimensional black holes (assuming a non-vanishing cosmological constant) in light of the gravitational decoupling by the minimal geometric deformation approach. To illustrate our results, we consider the BTZ geometry as the seed solution to generate new anisotropic ones. To complement the study, the curvature scalars and the energy conditions are analyzed.

Black hole shadow of a rotating scale--dependent black hole

In this work, starting from a spherically symmetric scale--dependent black hole, a rotating solution is obtained by following the Newman--Janis algorithm without complexification. Besides studying the horizon, the static conditions and causality issues of the rotating solution, we get and discuss the shape of its shadow.

On perturbative constraints for vacuum f(R) gravity

Perturbative techniques are important for modified theories of gravity since they allow to calculate deviations from General Relativity without recurring to exact solutions, which can be difficult to find. When applied to models such as $f(R)$ gravity, these techniques introduce corrections in the field equations that involve higher order derivatives. Such corrections must be handled carefully to have a well defined perturbative scheme, and this can be achieved through the method of perturbative constraints, where the coefficient of the additional term in the action is used as expansion parameter for the quantities of interest. In this work, we implement a perturbative framework that compares solutions in modified theories of gravity with solutions of the Einstein field equations, by following the guidelines of perturbation theory constructed in General Relativity together with the perturbative constraints rationale. By using this formalism, we demonstrate that a consistent $f(R)$ perturbation theory in vacuum, for an important class of $f(R)$ functions, produces no additional effects with respect to what is expected from the perturbation theory of General Relativity. From this result, we argue that there are fundamental limitations that explain why the solutions of some $f(R)$ models can be disconnected from their general relativistic counterparts, in the sense that the limit that leads from the $f(R)$ action to General Relativity does not transform the solutions accordingly.

Scale-dependent planar Anti-de Sitter black hole

In this work, we investigate four-dimensional planar black hole solutions in anti-de Sitter spacetimes in light of the so-called scale-dependent scenario. To obtain this new family of solutions, the classical couplings of the theory, i.e., the gravitational coupling and the cosmological constant, are not taken to be fixed values anymore. Thus, those classical parameters evolve to functions which change along the "height" coordinate, z. The effective Einstein field equations are solved, and the results are analyzed and compared with the classical counterpart. Finally, some thermodynamic properties of the presented scale--dependent black hole are investigated.

Minimal Geometric Deformation in asymptotically (A-)dS space-times and the isotropic sector for a polytropic black hole

In the context of the Minimal Geometric Deformation method, in this paper we implement the inverse problem in a black hole scenario. In order to deal with an anisotropic polytropic black hole solution of the Einstein field equations with cosmological constant, the deformation method is slightly extended. After obtaining the isotropic sector and the decoupler for an anisotropic (A-)dS polytropic black hole solution, we emphasize a possible relation between anisotropization/isotropization and the violation of the energy conditions.

Scale-dependent (2+1) - dimensional electrically charged black holes in Einstein-power-Maxwell theory

In this work we extend and generalize our previous work on the scale dependence at the level of the effective action of black holes in the presence of non-linear electrodynamics. In particular, we consider the Einstein-power-Maxwell theory without a cosmological constant in (2+1) dimensions, assuming a scale dependence of both the gravitational and the electromagnetic coupling and we investigate in detail how the scale--dependent scenario affects the horizon and thermodynamic properties of the classical black holes for any value of the power parameter. In addition, we solve the corresponding effective field equations imposing the "null energy condition" in order to obtain analytical solutions. The implications of quantum corrections are also briefly discussed.

Minimal geometric deformation decoupling in $2+1$ dimensional space-times

We study the minimal geometric deformation decoupling in $2+1$ dimensional space--times and implement it as a tool for obtaining anisotropic solutions from isotropic geometries. Interestingly, both the isotropic and the anisotropic sector fulfill Einstein field equations in contrast to the cases studied in $3+1$ dimensions. In particular, new anisotropic solutions are obtained from the well known static BTZ solution.

A self-sustained traversable scale-dependent wormhole

A self--sustained traversable wormhole is obtained as a vacuum solution of a scale-dependent gravitational theory. Comparison with other approaches towards wormhole self--sustainability are presented, with emphasis on the running of the gravitational coupling and on a possible effective description of gravity near the Planck scale.

Scale-dependent polytropic black hole

In the present work we study the scale--dependence of polytropic non-charged black holes in (3+1)-dimensional space--times assuming a cosmological constant. We allow for scale--dependence of the gravitational and cosmological couplings, and we solve the corresponding generalized field equations imposing the null energy condition. Besides, some properties, such as horizon structure and thermodynamics, are discussed in detail.

A regular scale-dependent black hole solution

In this work, we present a regular black hole solution, in the context of scale-dependent General Relativity, satisfying the weak energy condition. The source of this solution is an anisotropic effective energy-momentum tensor which appears when the scale dependence of the theory is turned-on. In this sense, the solution can be considered as a semiclassical extension of the Schwarzschild one.

We allow for scale dependence of the gravitational and electromagnetic couplings, and we solve the corresponding generalized field equations imposing the "null energy condition". Certain properties, such as horizon structure and thermodynamics, are discussed in detail.

Effective geometries and generalized uncertainty principle corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy

In this work we construct several black hole metrics which are consistent with the generalized uncertainty principle logarithmic correction to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy formula. After preserving the event horizon at the usual position, a singularity at the Planck scale is found. Finally, these geometries are shown to be realized by certain model of nonlinear electrodynamics, which resembles previously studied regular black hole solutions.

Simple regular black hole with logarithmic entropy correction

A simple regular black hole solution satisfying the weak energy condition is obtained within Einstein--non--linear electrodynamics theory. We have computed the thermodynamic properties of this black hole by a careful analysis of the horizons and we have found that the usual Bekenstein--Hawking entropy gets corrected by a logarithmic term. Therefore, in this sense our model realizes some quantum gravity predictions which add this kind of correction to the black hole entropy. In particular, we have established some similitudes between our model and a quadratic generalized uncertainty principle. This similitude has been confirmed by the existence of a remnant, which prevents complete evaporation, in agreement with the quadratic generalized uncertainty principle case.
