Connecting Early Dark Energy to Late Dark Energy by the Diluting Matter Potential

In this work we study a scale invariant gravity theory containing two scalar fields, dust particles and a measure defined from degrees of freedom independent of the metric. The integration of the degrees of freedom that define the measure spontaneously break the scale symmetry, leaving us in the Einstein frame with an effective potential that is dependent on the density of the particles. The potential contains three flat regions, one for inflation, another for early dark energy and the third for late dark energy. At a certain point, as the matter dilutes, tunneling from the early dark energy to the late dark energy can start efficiently. This mechanism naturally alleviated the observed Hubble tension by modifying the sound horizon prior to recombination while preserving late-time cosmology. Moreover, the model predictions are consistent with observations from the reduced CMB, BAO, and local measurement of $H_0$, providing a coherent and unified description of the universe. In this context, the Bayesian analysis of these datasets confirms the viability of our scenario, with the best-fit parameters indicating an early dark energy fraction of $f_{\rm NEDE}\approx 0.3$ at a redshift of $z^{\prime}=5000$. This preliminary estimate, obtained using the reduced CMB dataset, is expected to be tightened once the full CMB likelihood is considered.

Instant preheating in a scale invariant two measures theory

The instant preheating mechanism in the framework of a scale invariant two measures theory is studied. We introduce this mechanism into a non oscillating inflationary model as another possible solution to the reheating of the universe in this theory. In this framework, we consider that the model includes two scalar matter fields, the first a dilaton field, that transforms under scale transformations and it will be considered also as the field that drives inflation and the second, a scalar field which will interact with the inflaton through an effective potential. By assuming this interaction term, we obtain a scenario of instant radiation or decay of particles according to the domain the effective mass of the field that interacts with the inflaton. Also, we consider a scale invariant Yukawa interaction and then after performing the transition to the physical Einstein frame we obtain an expression for the decay rate from our scalar field going into two fermions. Besides, from specific decay rates, different constraints and bounds for the coupling parameters associated with our model are found.

Emergent Universe by Tunneling in a Jordan-Brans-Dicke Theory

In this work we study an alternative scheme for an Emergent Universe scenario in the context of a Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory, where the universe is initially in a truly static state supported by a scalar field located in a false vacuum. The model presents a classically stable past eternal static state which is broken when, by quantum tunneling, the scalar field decays into a state of true vacuum and the universe begins to evolve following the extended open inflationary scheme.

Classically and Quantum stable Emergent Universe from Conservation Laws

It has been recently pointed out by Mithani-Vilenkin that certain emergent universe scenarios which are classically stable are nevertheless unstable semiclassically to collapse. Here, we show that there is a class of emergent universes derived from scale invariant two measures theories with spontaneous symmetry breaking (s.s.b) of the scale invariance, which can have both classical stability and do not suffer the instability pointed out by Mithani-Vilenkin towards collapse. We find that this stability is due to the presence of a symmetry in the "emergent phase", which together with the non linearities of the theory, does not allow that the FLRW scale factor to be smaller that a certain minimum value $a_0$ in a certain protected region.

Stable Emergent Universe -- A Creation without Big-Bang

Based on an earlier introduced new class of generalized gravity-matter models defined in terms of two independent non-Riemannian volume forms (alternative generally covariant integration measure densities) on the space-time manifold, we derive an effective "Einstein-frame" theory featuring the following remarkable properties: (i) We obtain effective potential for the cosmological scalar field possessing two infinitely large flat regions which allows for a unified description of both early universe inflation as well as of present dark energy epoch; (ii) For a specific parameter range the model possesses a non-singular stable "emergent universe" solution which describes an initial phase of evolution that precedes the inflationary phase.

The Emergent Universe scheme and Tunneling

We present an alternative scheme for an Emergent Universe scenario, developed previously in $Phys.\ Rev.\ D {\bf 86}, 083524 (2012)$, where the universe is initially in a static state supported by a scalar field located in a false vacuum. The universe begins to evolve when, by quantum tunneling, the scalar field decays into a state of true vacuum. The Emergent Universe models are interesting since they provide specific examples of non-singular inflationary universes.

Emergent universe scenario and the low CMB multipoles

In this work we study superinflation in the context of the emergent universe (EU) scenario. The existence of a superinflating phase before the onset of slow-roll inflation arises in any emergent universe model. We found that the superinflationary period in the EU scenario produces a suppression of the CMB anisotropies at large scale which could be responsible for the observed lack of power at large angular scales of the CMB.

Connecting The Non-Singular Origin of the Universe, The Vacuum Structure and The Cosmological Constant Problem

We consider a non-singular origin for the Universe starting from an Einstein static Universe, the so called "emergent universe" scenario, in the framework of a theory which uses two volume elements $\sqrt{-{g}}d^{4}x$ and $Φd^{4}x$, where $Φ$ is a metric independent density, used as an additional measure of integration. Also curvature, curvature square terms and for scale invariance a dilaton field $ϕ$ are considered in the action. The first order formalism is applied. The integration of the equations of motion associated with the new measure gives rise to the spontaneous symmetry breaking (S.S.B) of scale invariance (S.I.). After S.S.B. of S.I., it is found that a non trivial potential for the dilaton is generated. In the Einstein frame we also add a cosmological term that parametrizes the zero point fluctuations. The resulting effective potential for the dilaton contains two flat regions, for $ϕ\rightarrow \infty$ relevant for the non singular origin of the Universe, followed by an inflationary phase and $ϕ\rightarrow -\infty$, describing our present Universe. The dynamics of the scalar field becomes non linear and these non linearities produce a non trivial vacuum structure for the theory and are responsible for the stability of some of the emergent universe solutions, which exists for a parameter range of values of the vacuum energy in $ϕ\rightarrow -\infty$, which must be positive but not very big, avoiding the extreme fine tuning required to keep the vacuum energy density of the present universe small. The non trivial vacuum structure is crucial to ensure the smooth transition from the emerging phase, to an inflationary phase and finally to the slowly accelerated universe now. Zero vacuum energy density for the present universe defines the threshold for the creation of the universe.

Emergent Universe by Tunneling

In this work we propose an alternative scheme for an Emergent Universe scenario where the universe is initially in a static state supported by a scalar field located in a false vacuum. The universe begins to evolve when, by quantum tunneling, the scalar field decays into a state of true vacuum. The Emergent Universe models are interesting since they provide specific examples of nonsingular inflationary universes.

Observational constraints on a cosmological model with Lagrange multipliers

Cosmological models with Lagrange multipliers are appealing because they could explain the behaviour of the dark sector in a unified way. In this work we analyse extensions to the "Dust of Dark Energy model" proposed in arXiv:1003.5751 by including spatial curvature and more general potentials of the scalar field. We perform dynamical system analysis and we determine the evolution of the equation of state parameter as a function of the scale factor. We present observational constraints on this model by using Union2.1 dataset and H(z) data.

Emergent Universe from Scale Invariant Two Measures Theory

The dilaton-gravity sector of a linear in the scalar curvature, scale invariant Two Measures Field Theory (TMT), is explored in detail in the context of closed FRW cosmology and shown to allow stable emerging universe solutions. The model possesses scale invariance which is spontaneously broken due to the intrinsic features of the TMT dynamics. We study the transition from the emerging phase to inflation, and then to a zero cosmological constant phase. We also study the spectrum of density perturbations and the constraints that impose on the parameters of the theory.

Emerging Universe from Scale Invariance

We consider a scale invariant model which includes a $R^{2}$ term in action and show that a stable "emerging universe" scenario is possible. The model belongs to the general class of theories, where an integration measure independent of the metric is introduced. To implement scale invariance (S.I.), a dilaton field is introduced. The integration of the equations of motion associated with the new measure gives rise to the spontaneous symmetry breaking (S.S.B) of S.I. After S.S.B. of S.I. in the model with the $R^{2}$ term (and first order formalism applied), it is found that a non trivial potential for the dilaton is generated. The dynamics of the scalar field becomes non linear and these non linearities are instrumental in the stability of some of the emerging universe solutions, which exists for a parameter range of the theory.

Closed inflationary universe in Patch Cosmology

In this article we study closed inflationary universe models using the Gauss-Bonnet Brane. We determine and characterize the existence of a universe with $Ω> 1$, with an appropriate period of inflation. We have found that this model is less restrictive in comparison with the standard approach where a scalar field is considered. We use recent astronomical observations to constrain the parameters appearing in the model.

On the Stability of Jordan-Brans-Dicke Static Universe

In this work we study the stability of the Jordan-Brans-Dicke (JBD) static universe. This is motivated by the possibility that the universe might have started out in an asymptotically JBD static state, in the context of the so called emergent universe scenario. We extent our previous results on stability of JBD static universe by considering spatially homogeneous Bianchi type IX anisotropic perturbation modes and by including more general perfect fluids. Contrary to general relativity, we have found that the JBD static universe, dominated by a standard perfect fluid, could be stable against isotropic and anisotropic perturbations. The implications of these results for the initial state of the universe and its pre-inflationary evolution are discussed.

Tachyonic Universes in Patch Cosmologies with $Ω>1$

In this article we study closed inflationary universe models by means of a tachyonic field. We described a general treatment for created a universe with $Ω>1$ in patch cosmology, which is able to represent General Relativity, Gauss-Bonnet or Randall-Sundrum patches. We use recent data from astronomical observations to constrain the parameters appearing in our model.

Evolving Lorentzian wormholes supported by phantom matter with constant state parameters

In this paper we study the possibility of sustaining an evolving wormhole via exotic matter made out of phantom energy. We show that this exotic source can support the existence of evolving wormhole spacetimes. Explicitly, a family of evolving Lorentzian wormholes conformally related to another family of zero-tidal force static wormhole geometries is found in Einstein gravity. Contrary to the standard wormhole approach, where first a convenient geometry is fixed and then the matter distribution is derived, we follow the conventional approach for finding solutions in theoretical cosmology. We derive an analytical evolving wormhole geometry by supposing that the radial tension (which is negative to the radial pressure) and the pressure measured in the tangential directions have barotropic equations of state with constant state parameters. At spatial infinity this evolving wormhole, supported by this anisotropic matter, is asymptotically flat, and its slices $t=$ constant are spaces of constant curvature. During its evolution the shape of the wormhole expands with constant velocity, i.e without acceleration or deceleration, since the scale factor has strictly a linear evolution.

Emergent universe in a Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory

In this paper we study emergent universe model in the context of a self interacting Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory. The model presents a stable past eternal static solution which eventually enters a phase where the stability of this solution is broken leading to an inflationary period. We also establish constraints for the different parameters appearing in our model.

Closed inflationary universe with tachyonic field

In this article we study closed inflationary universe models by using a tachyonic field theory. We determine and characterize the existence of an universe with $Ω> 1$, and which describes a period of inflation. We find that considered models are less restrictive compared to the standard ones with a scalar field. We use recent astronomical observations to constraint the parameters appearing in the model. Obtained results are compared to those found in the standard scalar field inflationary universes.
