Two-loop QCD corrections to $CP$-even Higgs boson decays into $Vγ$ in the Type-I Two-Higgs-Doublet Model

We investigate the QCD corrections to the loop-induced decays of the heavy $CP$-even Higgs boson, $H \to Vγ$ ($V = Z, γ$), within the framework of the Type-I Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (THDM). Owing to the similarity of the underlying loop topologies, the two decay channels exhibit closely correlated behaviour. After imposing relevant phenomenological constraints, we evaluate the decay widths for 5000 viable parameter points at next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD under the alignment limit. The $H\toγγ$ width exceeds that of $H\to Zγ$ by roughly a factor of four. Both are dominated by the top-quark loop: the $W$ contribution vanishes in the alignment limit, and the charged-Higgs loop is suppressed throughout most of the viable parameter region. The corrections exhibit a pronounced dependence on the heavy Higgs boson mass $m_H$, attaining a maximum in the vicinity of the $t\bar{t}$ production threshold. To elucidate the individual parameter dependences, dedicated benchmark scenarios are analysed, revealing that the decay widths diminish monotonically with increasing $\tanβ$ while growing with $m_H$. The QCD corrections for both decay modes typically span approximately $-20\%$ to $+20\%$, with larger corrections in the non-alignment scenario: in the $H\toγγ$ channel they reach up to $+38\%$ at large $\tanβ$, and in the $H\to Zγ$ channel they cross zero to become positive. The $CP$ selection rule forces the $t\bar{t}$ pair into a $P$-wave configuration at threshold, which strongly suppresses the Coulomb corrections and secures the perturbative stability of the fixed-order prediction. A comparison with ATLAS limits shows that current data do not yet constrain the parameter space, whereas the $\mathcal{O}(15\%)$ NLO corrections may become relevant for interpreting exclusion bounds at the HL-LHC.

Strong gravitational lensing in a Kerr black hole within Quantum Einstein Gravity

The detailed study of the strong gravitational lensing of a Kerr black hole within Quantum Einstein Gravity (QEG) is performed. We calculate the photon sphere, the deflection angle of light, and observables on the equatorial plane under the strong deflection limit in a vacuum. The presence of quantum effects reduces the radius of the photon sphere, the magnification, the position of relativistic images, and the time delays on the same side of the lens. However, it increases the strong deflection angle, the separations, and the time delays on the opposite side of the lens. By modeling M87* and Sgr A* as the Kerr black hole within QEG, we find that the time delays are more significant in M87*, while other observables are more pronounced in Sgr A*. Furthermore, we consider the influence of plasma on the gravitational lensing effect. Plasma causes an additional deflection of light, increasing the magnification, images position and the time delays, but decreasing the separations. More importantly, we calculate the time delays under the strong deflection limit in the presence of plasma, and they increase with higher plasma concentrations. Our research may help to evaluate the observational imprints left by such quantum effects in the propagation of light and the impact of plasma around black holes on gravitational lensing.

Gravitational lensing by a stable rotating regular black hole

Recent observational data from the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration provide convincing realistic evidence for the existence of black hole rotation. From a phenomenological perspective, a recently proposed stable rotating regular (SRR) black hole circumvents the theoretical flaws of the Kerr solution. For the purpose of obtaining observational signatures of this black hole, we study its gravitational lensing effect. In the strong field limit, we calculate the deflection angle of light, the radius of the photon sphere, and other observables. The observables include the relativistic image position, separation, magnification, and time delays between different images. Then, by modeling M87* and Sgr A* as the SRR black hole, we compute their observables and evaluate the deviation of the observables from the Kerr case. In the weak field limit, we calculate the light deflection angle of M87* and Sgr A* via the Gauss-Bonnet theorem (GBT). With the growth of deviation parameter $e$, the gravitational lensing effect in the weak field limit intensifies monotonically, and the gravitational lensing effect in the strong field limit changes dramatically only at high spins. Our research may contribute to distinguish between SRR black holes from Kerr black holes under higher-precision astronomical observations.

Gray-body factor and absorption of the Dirac field in ESTGB gravity

The gray-body factor and the absorption cross section of the 4D ESTGB gravity with a mode of nonlinear electrodynamics for the massless Dirac field are studied in this paper. The magnetic charge value varies between $-2^{(\frac{5}{3})}/3$ and $0$ as well as the ADM mass is set to $1$, which corresponds to a non-extreme black hole. The gray-body factor is obtained using the semi-analytic WKB method after solving the massless Dirac equation. When the absolute value of magnetic charge is increasing, the gray-body factor $γ(ω)$ is decreasing. In addition, the partial absorption cross section and the total absorption cross section are calculated by using the partial wave method. We find that the maximum value of partial absorption cross section decreases as $κ$ increases. And the existence of magnetic charge causes the diminishing of the total absorption cross section. Finally, we find that the absorption cross section of the Dirac field is more sensitive to electric charge than magnetic charge by comparing the absorption cross section of the Reissner-Nordstr$\rm\ddot{o}$m and ESTGB-NLED black holes.

Shadow, absorption and Hawking radiation of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a cloud of strings in Rastall gravity

This paper studies the black hole shadow, absorption cross section, and Hawking radiation of a massless scalar field in the background of a static spherically symmetric black hole spacetime that is surrounded by a cloud of strings in Rastall gravity. Specifically, the effects of the parameters $a$ and $β$ on the photon sphere and shadow radii are investigated. The results show that as the negative parameter $β$ decreases, the photon sphere and shadow radii change in an N-shape. In addition, the absorption cross section obtained after solving the massless Klein-Gordon equation is calculated using the sinc approximation and the partial waves method. We compare the absorption cross section obtained by the sinc approximation and the partial waves method, and find it to be exceptionally consistent in the mid-to-high frequency region. Furthermore, the effects of parameters $a$ and $β$ on absorption are examined in detail. Finally, we study in detail the effects of the parameters $a$, $β$ and $l$ on the Hawking radiation power emission spectrum of the considered black hole. It turns out that the string parameter $a$ always suppresses the power emission spectrum, indicating that such black holes live longer when the string parameter $a$ is increased while other parameters are fixed.

Analytical time-like geodesics in modified Hayward black hole space-time

The properties of modified Hayward black hole space-time can be investigated through analyzing the particle geodesics. By means of a detailed analysis of the corresponding effective potentials for a massive particle, we find all possible orbits which are allowed by the energy levels. The trajectories of orbits are plotted by solving the equation of orbital motion numerically. We conclude that whether there is an escape orbit is associated with $b$ (angular momentum). The properties of orbital motion are related to $b$, $α$ ($α$ is associated with the time delay) and $β$ ($β$ is related to 1-loop quantum corrections). There are no escape orbits when $b$ $<$ $4.016M$, $α$ = 0.50 and $β$ = 1.00. For fixed $α$ = 0.50 and $β$ = 1.00, if $b$ $<$ $3.493M$, there only exist unstable orbits. Comparing with the regular Hayward black hole, we go for a reasonable speculation by mean of the existing calculating results that the introduction of the modified term makes the radius of the innermost circular orbit (ISCO) and the corresponding angular momentum larger.

Structure of geodesics in the regular Hayward black hole space-time

The regular Hayward model describes a non-singular black hole space-time. By analyzing the behaviors of effective potential and solving the equation of orbital motion, we investigate the time-like and null geodesics in the regular Hayward black hole space-time. Through detailed analyses of corresponding effective potentials for massive particles and photons, all possible orbits are numerically simulated. The results show that there may exist four orbital types in the time-like geodesics structure: planetary orbits, circular orbits, escape orbits and absorbing orbits. In addition, when $\ell$, a convenient encoding of the central energy density $3/8π\ell^{2}$, is $0.6M$, and $b$ is $3.9512M$ as a specific value of angular momentum, escape orbits exist only under $b>3.9512M$. The precession direction is also associated with values of $b$. With $b=3.70M$ the bound orbits shift clockwise but counter-clockwise with $b=5.00M$ in the regular Hayward black hole space-time. We also find that the structure of null geodesics is simpler than that of time-like geodesics. There only exist three kinds of orbits (unstable circle orbits, escape orbits and absorbing orbits).

Precision study of $W^-W^+H$ production including parton shower effects at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

The precision study of $W^-W^+H$ production with subsequent $W^{\pm} \rightarrow l^{\pm} \overset{ _{(-)}}{ν_{l}}$ and $H \rightarrow b\bar{b}$ decays at the LHC can help us to study the Higgs gauge couplings and to search for new physics beyond the SM. In this paper, we calculate the shower-matched NLO QCD correction and the EW corrections from the $q\bar{q}$ annihilation and photon-induced channels to the $W^-W^+H$ production at the $14~ {\rm TeV}$ LHC, and deal with the subsequent decays of Higgs and $W^{\pm}$ bosons by adopting the {\sc MadSpin} method. Both the integrated cross section and some kinematic distributions of $W^{\pm}$, $H$ and their decay products are provided. We find that the QCD correction enhances the LO differential cross section significantly, while the EW correction from the $q\bar{q}$ annihilation channel obviously suppresses the LO differential cross section, especially in the high energy phase-space region due to the Sudakov effect. The $qγ$- and $γγ$-induced relative corrections are positive, and insensitive to the transverse momenta of $W^{\pm}$, $H$ and their decay products. These photon-induced corrections compensate the negative $q\bar{q}$-initiated EW correction, and become the dominant EW contribution as the increment of the $pp$ colliding energy. The parton shower (PS) effects on the kinematic distributions are nonnegligible. The PS relative correction to the $b$-jet transverse momentum distribution can exceed $100\%$ in the high $p_{T, b}$ region. We also investigate the scale and PDF uncertainties, and find that the theoretical error of the ${\rm QCD}+{\rm EW}+qγ+γγ$ corrected integrated cross section mainly comes from the renormalization scale dependence of the QCD correction.

Electroweak corrections to top quark pair production in association with a hard photon at hadron colliders

We present the next-to-leading order (NLO) electroweak (EW) corrections to the top quark pair production associated with a hard photon at the current and future hadron colliders. The dependence of the leading order (LO) and NLO EW corrected cross sections on the photon transverse momentum cut are investigated. We also provide the LO and NLO EW corrected distributions of the transverse momentum of final top quark and photon and the invariant mass of top quark pair and top-antitop-photon system. The results show that the NLO EW corrections are significant in high energy regions due to the EW Sudakov effect.

Electroweak radiative corrections to triple photon production at the ILC

In this paper, we present the precision predictions for three photon production in the standard model (SM) at the ILC including the full next-to-leading (NLO) electroweak (EW) corrections, high order initial state radiation (h.o.ISR) contributions and beamstrahlung effects. We present the LO and the NLO EW+h.o.ISR+beamstrahlung corrected total cross sections for various colliding energy when $\sqrt s \ge 200 {\rm GeV}$ and the kinematic distributions of final photons with $\sqrt s = 500 {\rm GeV}$ at ILC, and find that the NLO EW corrections, the h.o.ISR contributions and the beamstrahlung effects are important in exploring the process $e^+e^- \to γγγ$.

Generalized holographic Ricci dark energy and generalized second law of thermodynamics in Bianchi Type I universe

Generalized second law of thermodynamics in the Bianchi type I universe with the generalized holographic Ricci dark energy model is studied in this paper. The behavior of dark energy's equation of state parameter indicates that it is matter-like in the early time of the universe but phantom-like in the future. By analysing the evolution of the deviations of state parameter and the total pressure of the universe, we find that for an anisotropic Bianchi type I universe, it transits from a high anisotropy stage to a more homogeneous stage in the near past. Using the normal entropy given by Gibbs' law of thermodynamics, it is proved that the generalized second law of thermodynamics does not always satisfied throughout the history of the universe when we assume the universe is enclosed by the generalized Ricci scalar radius $R_{gr}$. It becomes invalid in the near past to the future, and the formation of the galaxies will be helpful in explaining such phenomenon, for that the galaxies's formation is an entropy increase process. The negative change rates of the horizon entropy and internal entropy occur in different period indicates that the influences of galaxies formation is wiped from internal to the universe's horizon.

A bound system in the expanding universe with modified holographic Ricci dark energy and dark matter

The evolution of a bound system in the expanding background has been investigated in this paper. The background is described by a FRW universe with the modified holographic dark energy model, whose equation of state parameter changes with time and can cross the phantom boundary. To study the evolution of the bound system, an interpolating metric is considered, and on this basis the geodesics of a test particle are given. The equation of motion and the effective potential are also derived from the geodesics. By studying the the effective potential and the evolution of the radius of a test particle in the bound system of the Milky Way galaxy, we have found that the galaxy would go through three stages: expands from a singular point; stays in a discoid for a period of time; big rip in the future. With the help of analysing the critical angular momentum, we find that the test particle needs less angular momentum to escape from the center mass as time passes.
