SOS! : A Streamlined Object-Conditional Transformer for Model-free Segmentation

Foundation segmentation models excel at generating high-quality, class-agnostic masks, but they struggle to associate these proposals with specific target objects. This semantic gap severely hinders their deployment in downstream applications like robotic manipulation, which demand precise unseen objects segmentation. Existing approaches attempt to resolve this by relying on exhaustive 3D object model priors, inherently introducing prohibitive computational overhead and complex, multi-stage pipelines. To address these limitations, we propose SOS (Streamlined Object-conditional Transformer for model-free Segmentation). SOS completely eliminates the reliance on 3D models, requiring only a single reference image per target object. Central to our framework is a novel Object-Conditional Transformer that learns identity-anchored queries, unifying mask generation and target identification into a single feed-forward pass. This streamlined design drastically improves both structural and computational efficiency. Extensive evaluations across multiple benchmarks demonstrate that SOS establishes a new state-of-the-art for model-free unseen objects segmentation, delivering accurate and high-efficiency performance. Pose Anything Anywhere:Model-free Object Poses from Arbitrary References

Estimating the 6D pose of unseen objects is a fundamental yet challenging problem for open-world robotics and embodied perception. Model-based methods are accurate but depend on CAD assets or heavy onboarding, while most model-free approaches are still limited to pairwise single-anchor matching and thus fail under occlusion and large viewpoint changes with low query-reference overlap. Therefore, we present PANY, a unified model-free framework that seamlessly supports both RGB and RGB-D inputs, operates on one or sparse pose-free reference views, and generalizes effectively to novel objects. Built on a multi-view transformer geometry backbone, PANY moves beyond pairwise matching by learning view-consistent geometry and cross-view alignment cues that remain stable under wide baselines and limited overlap. When additional unposed assist views are available, PANY aggregates them via pose-graph canonical registration to increase geometric coverage and reinforce the final pose. Extensive experiments show that PANY achieves state-of-the-art performance across multiple benchmarks, substantially outperforming existing model-free methods, improving pose accuracy by +12% on YCB-V and over +20% on LM-O. Furthermore, PANY consistently performs well under both single-reference and sparse-reference settings, demonstrating strong robustness in real-world environments.

BioDet: Boosting Industrial Object Detection with Image Preprocessing Strategies

Accurate 6D pose estimation is essential for robotic manipulation in industrial environments. Existing pipelines typically rely on off-the-shelf object detectors followed by cropping and pose refinement, but their performance degrades under challenging conditions such as clutter, poor lighting, and complex backgrounds, making detection the critical bottleneck. In this work, we introduce a standardized and plug-in pipeline for 2D detection of unseen objects in industrial settings. Based on current SOTA baselines, our approach reduces domain shift and background artifacts through low-light image enhancement and background removal guided by open-vocabulary detection with foundation models. This design suppresses the false positives prevalent in raw SAM outputs, yielding more reliable detections for downstream pose estimation. Extensive experiments on real-world industrial bin-picking benchmarks from BOP demonstrate that our method significantly boosts detection accuracy while incurring negligible inference overhead, showing the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method.

RayPose: Ray Bundling Diffusion for Template Views in Unseen 6D Object Pose Estimation

Typical template-based object pose pipelines estimate the pose by retrieving the closest matching template and aligning it with the observed image. However, failure to retrieve the correct template often leads to inaccurate pose predictions. To address this, we reformulate template-based object pose estimation as a ray alignment problem, where the viewing directions from multiple posed template images are learned to align with a non-posed query image. Inspired by recent progress in diffusion-based camera pose estimation, we embed this formulation into a diffusion transformer architecture that aligns a query image with a set of posed templates. We reparameterize object rotation using object-centered camera rays and model object translation by extending scale-invariant translation estimation to dense translation offsets. Our model leverages geometric priors from the templates to guide accurate query pose inference. A coarse-to-fine training strategy based on narrowed template sampling improves performance without modifying the network architecture. Extensive experiments across multiple benchmark datasets show competitive results of our method compared to state-of-the-art approaches in unseen object pose estimation.

XYZ-IBD: Benchmarking Robust 6D Object Pose Estimation under Real-World Industrial Complexity

While current 6D pose estimation benchmarks have reached near-saturation on household objects, they often fail to capture the stochastic and optical complexities of industrial environments. We introduce XYZ-IBD, a high-precision benchmark for object detection and 6D pose estimation specifically designed for industrial bin-picking. XYZ-IBD addresses the domain gap by providing 75 multi-view real-world scenes containing approximately 273k annotated instances of metallic, symmetrical, and specular objects. Unlike existing datasets, our benchmark features high-density stochastic stacking and multi-instance ambiguity, reflecting authentic robotic manipulation challenges. We employ a rigorous multi-stage and semi-automatic annotation pipeline, ensuring sub-millimeter annotation accuracy. The annotations are validated through our designed error quantification scheme, securing the reliability of the annotation quality. In addition to real-world evaluation data, we provide a large-scale complementary synthetic training set that is rendered under a realistic bin-picking simulation. Benchmarking state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods for 2D detection and 6D pose estimation reveals a significant performance degradation compared to standard household benchmarks, highlighting the unsolved challenges of industrial vision. XYZ-IBD establishes a new frontier for robust pose estimation in complex, high-occlusion, and reflective scenarios. The dataset and benchmark are publicly available at https://xyz-ibd.github.io.

GCE-Pose: Global Context Enhancement for Category-level Object Pose Estimation

A key challenge in model-free category-level pose estimation is the extraction of contextual object features that generalize across varying instances within a specific category. Recent approaches leverage foundational features to capture semantic and geometry cues from data. However, these approaches fail under partial visibility. We overcome this with a first-complete-then-aggregate strategy for feature extraction utilizing class priors. In this paper, we present GCE-Pose, a method that enhances pose estimation for novel instances by integrating category-level global context prior. GCE-Pose performs semantic shape reconstruction with a proposed Semantic Shape Reconstruction (SSR) module. Given an unseen partial RGB-D object instance, our SSR module reconstructs the instance's global geometry and semantics by deforming category-specific 3D semantic prototypes through a learned deep Linear Shape Model. We further introduce a Global Context Enhanced (GCE) feature fusion module that effectively fuses features from partial RGB-D observations and the reconstructed global context. Extensive experiments validate the impact of our global context prior and the effectiveness of the GCE fusion module, demonstrating that GCE-Pose significantly outperforms existing methods on challenging real-world datasets HouseCat6D and NOCS-REAL275.
