q-Opers and Quantum/Classical Duality Beyond Type A

Using the language of q-opers, we propose an algebro-geometric description of the duality between Bethe Ansatz equations for quantum XXZ spin chains and many-body trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider/Macdonald systems for classical groups. Upon this duality, the energy level sets of the classical B/C/D-type Hamiltonians are found to be in bijection with the set of solutions of the XXZ Bethe Ansatz equations of type A, albeit with open boundary conditions. This dictionary generalizes previous results in which a GL(N) XXZ spin chain with twisted periodic boundary conditions was dual to an N-body Ruijsenaars-Schneider system. Our construction implements a $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$ folding both at the level of the (GL(N),q)-oper data as well as at the level of the N-body trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider model. The nonreduced BC-type systems appear in our analysis as well.

q-Opers and Bethe Ansatz for Open Spin Chains I

In in a nutshell, the classical geometric $q$-Langlands duality can be viewed as a correspondence between the space of $(G,q)$-opers and the space of solutions of $^L\mathfrak{g}$ XXZ Bethe Ansatz equations. The latter describe spectra of closed spin chains with twisted periodic boundary conditions and, upon the duality, the twist elements are identified with the $q$-oper connections on a projective line in a certain gauge. In this work, we initiate the geometric study of Bethe Ansatz equations for spin chains with open boundary conditions. We introduce the space of $q$-opers whose defining sections are invariant under reflection through the unit circle in a selected gauge. The space of such reflection-invariant $q$-opers in the presence of certain nondegeneracy conditions is thereby described by the corresponding Bethe Ansatz problem. We compare our findings with the existing results in integrable systems and representation theory. This paper discusses the type-A construction leaving the general case for the upcoming work.

Branes and DAHA Representations

Using brane quantization, we study the representation theory of the spherical double affine Hecke algebra of type $A_1$ in terms of the topological A-model on the moduli space of flat SL(2,C)-connections on a once-punctured torus. In particular, we provide an explicit match between finite-dimensional representations and A-branes with compact support; one consequence is the discovery of new finite-dimensional indecomposable representations. We proceed to embed the A-model story in an M-theory brane construction, closely related to the one used in the 3d/3d correspondence; as a result, we identify modular tensor categories behind particular finite-dimensional representations with PSL(2,Z) action. Using a further connection to the fivebrane system for the class S construction, we go on to study the relationship of Coulomb branch geometry and algebras of line operators in 4d N=2* theories to the double affine Hecke algebra.

Quantum K-theory and Integrability

In this note, we explore some recent advancements in enumerative algebraic geometry, focusing particularly on the role of quantum K-theory of quiver varieties as viewed through the lens of integrable systems. We highlight a number of conjectures and open questions. This is a contribution to the proceedings of the GLSM@30 conference, which was held in May 2023 at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics.

On the Quantum K-theory of Quiver Varieties at Roots of Unity

Let $\Psi(\textbf{z},\textbf{a},q)$ a the fundamental solution matrix of the quantum difference equation of a Nakajima variety $X$. In this work, we prove that the operator $$ \Psi(\textbf{z},\textbf{a},q) \Psi\left(\textbf{z}^p,\textbf{a}^p,q^{p^2}\right)^{-1} $$ has no poles at the primitive complex $p$-th roots of unity $q=\zeta_p$. As a byproduct, we show that the iterated product of the operators ${\bf M}_{\mathcal{L}}(\textbf{z},\textbf{a},q )$ from the $q$-difference equation on $X$: $$ {\bf M}_{\mathcal{L}} (\textbf{z} q^{(p-1)\mathcal{L}},\textbf{a},q) \cdots {\bf M}_{\mathcal{L}} (\textbf{z} q^{\mathcal{L}},\textbf{a},q) {\bf M}_{\mathcal{L}} (\textbf{z} ,\textbf{a},q) $$ evaluated at $q=\zeta_p$ has the same eigenvalues as ${\bf M}_{\mathcal{L}} (\textbf{z}^p,\textbf{a}^p,q^p)$. Upon a reduction of the quantum difference equation of $X$ to the quantum differential equation over the field of finite characteristic, the above iterated product transforms into a Grothendiek-Katz $p$-curvature of the corresponding quantum connection whreas ${\bf M}_{\mathcal{L}} (\textbf{z}^p,\textbf{a}^p,q^p)$ becomes a certain Frobenius twist of that connection. In this way, we give an explicit description of the spectrum of the $p$-curvature of quantum connection for Nakajima varieties.

Quantum Geometry, Integrability, and Opers

This review article discusses recent progress in understanding of various families of integrable models in terms of algebraic geometry, representation theory, and physics. In particular, we address the connections between soluble many-body systems of Calogero-Ruijsenaars type, quantum spin chains, spaces of opers, representations of double affine Hecke algebras, enumerative counts to quiver varieties, to name just a few. We formulate several conjectures and open problems. This is a contribution to the proceedings of the conference on Elliptic Integrable Systems and Representation Theory, which was held in August 2023 at University of Tokyo.

The Zoo of Opers and Dualities

We investigate various spaces of $SL(r+1)$-opers and their deformations. For each type of such opers, we study the quantum/classical duality, which relates quantum integrable spin chains with classical solvable many body systems. In this context, quantum/classical dualities serve as an interplay between two different coordinate systems on the space of opers. We also establish correspondences between the underlying oper spaces, which recently had multiple incarnations in symplectic duality and bispectral duality.

3d Mirror Symmetry for Instanton Moduli Spaces

We prove that the Hilbert scheme of $k$ points on $\mathbb{C}^2$ (Hilb$^k[\mathbb{C}^2]$) is self-dual under three-dimensional mirror symmetry using methods of geometry and integrability. Namely, we demonstrate that the corresponding quantum equivariant K-theory is invariant upon interchanging its Kähler and equivariant parameters as well as inverting the weight of the $\mathbb{C}^\times_\hbar$-action. First, we find a two-parameter family $X_{k,l}$ of self-mirror quiver varieties of type A and study their quantum K-theory algebras. The desired quantum K-theory of Hilb$^k[\mathbb{C}^2]$ is obtained via direct limit $l\to\infty$ and by imposing certain periodic boundary conditions on the quiver data. Throughout the proof, we employ the quantum/classical (q-Langlands) correspondence between XXZ Bethe Ansatz equations and spaces of twisted $\hbar$-opers. In the end, we propose the 3d mirror dual for the moduli spaces of torsion-free rank-$N$ sheaves on $\mathbb{P}^2$ with the help of a different (three-parametric) family of type A quiver varieties with known mirror dual.

q-Opers, QQ-systems, and Bethe Ansatz II: Generalized Minors

In this paper, we describe a certain kind of $q$-connections on a projective line, namely $Z$-twisted $(G,q)$-opers with regular singularities using the language of generalized minors. In part one arXiv:2002.07344 we explored the correspondence between these $q$-connections and $QQ$-systems/Bethe Ansatz equations. Here we associate to a $Z$-twisted $(G,q)$-oper a class of meromorphic sections of a $G$-bundle, satisfying certain difference equations, which we refer to as generalized $q$-Wronskians. Among other things, we show that the $QQ$-systems and their extensions emerge as the relations between generalized minors, thereby putting the Bethe Ansatz equations in the framework of cluster mutations known in the theory of double Bruhat cells.

Double Inozemtsev Limits of the Quantum DELL System

In this letter we study various Inozemtsev-type limits of the quantum double elliptic (DELL) system when both elliptic parameters are sent to zero at different rates, while the coupling constant is sent to infinity, such that a certain combination of the three parameters is kept fixed. We find a regime in which such double Inozemtsev limit of DELL produces the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider (eRS) Hamiltonians albeit in an unconventional normalization. We discuss other double scaling limits and anisotropic scaling of coordinates and momenta. In addition, we provide a formal expression for the eigenvalues of the eRS Hamiltonians solely in terms of their eigenfunctions.

Quantum K-theory of Quiver Varieties and Many-Body Systems

We define quantum equivariant K-theory of Nakajima quiver varieties. We discuss type A in detail as well as its connections with quantum XXZ spin chains and trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider models. Finally we study a limit which produces a K-theoretic version of results of Givental and Kim, connecting quantum geometry of flag varieties and Toda lattice.

Toroidal q-Opers

We define and study the space of $q$-opers associated with Bethe equations for integrable models of XXZ type with quantum toroidal algebra symmetry. Our construction is suggested by the study of the enumerative geometry of cyclic quiver varieties, in particular, the ADHM moduli spaces. We define $(\overline{GL}(\infty),q)$-opers with regular singularities and then, by imposing various analytic conditions on singularities, arrive at the desired Bethe equations for toroidal $q$-opers.

q-Opers, QQ-Systems, and Bethe Ansatz

We introduce the notions of $(G,q)$-opers and Miura $(G,q)$-opers, where $G$ is a simply-connected complex simple Lie group, and prove some general results about their structure. We then establish a one-to-one correspondence between the set of $(G,q)$-opers of a certain kind and the set of nondegenerate solutions of a system of Bethe Ansatz equations. This may be viewed as a $q$DE/IM correspondence between the spectra of a quantum integrable model (IM) and classical geometric objects ($q$-differential equations). If $\mathfrak{g}$ is simply-laced, the Bethe Ansatz equations we obtain coincide with the equations that appear in the quantum integrable model of XXZ-type associated to the quantum affine algebra $U_q \widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$. However, if $\mathfrak{g}$ is non-simply laced, then these equations correspond to a different integrable model, associated to $U_q {}^L\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$ where $^L\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$ is the Langlands dual (twisted) affine algebra. A key element in this $q$DE/IM correspondence is the $QQ$-system that has appeared previously in the study of the ODE/IM correspondence and the Grothendieck ring of the category ${\mathcal O}$ of the relevant quantum affine algebra.

A-type Quiver Varieties and ADHM Moduli Spaces

We study quantum geometry of Nakajima quiver varieties of two different types - framed A-type quivers and ADHM quivers. While these spaces look completely different we find a surprising connection between equivariant K-theories thereof with a nontrivial match between their equivariant parameters. In particular, we demonstrate that quantum equivariant K-theory of $A_n$ quiver varieties in a certain $n\to\infty$ limit reproduces equivariant K-theory of the Hilbert scheme of points on $\mathbb{C}^2$. We analyze the correspondence from the point of view of enumerative geometry, representation theory and integrable systems. We also propose a conjecture which relates spectra of quantum multiplication operators in K-theory of the ADHM moduli spaces with the solution of the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider model.

$(SL(N),q)$-opers, the $q$-Langlands correspondence, and quantum/classical duality

A special case of the geometric Langlands correspondence is given by the relationship between solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the Gaudin model and opers - connections on the projective line with extra structure. In this paper, we describe a deformation of this correspondence for $SL(N)$. We introduce a difference equation version of opers called $q$-opers and prove a $q$-Langlands correspondence between nondegenerate solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the XXZ model and nondegenerate twisted $q$-opers with regular singularities on the projective line. We show that the quantum/classical duality between the XXZ spin chain and the trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider model may be viewed as a special case of the $q$-Langlands correspondence. We also describe an application of $q$-opers to the equivariant quantum $K$-theory of the cotangent bundles to partial flag varieties.

On Dimensional Transmutation in 1+1D Quantum Hydrodynamics

Recently a detailed correspondence was established between, on one side, four and five-dimensional large-N supersymmetric gauge theories with $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetry and adjoint matter, and, on the other side, integrable 1+1-dimensional quantum hydrodynamics. Under this correspondence the phenomenon of dimensional transmutation, familiar in asymptotically free QFTs, gets mapped to the transition from the elliptic Calogero-Moser many-body system to the closed Toda chain. In this paper we attempt to formulate the hydrodynamical counterpart of the dimensional transmutation phenomenon inspired by the identification of the periodic Intermediate Long Wave (ILW) equation as the hydrodynamical limit of the elliptic Calogero-Moser/Ruijsenaars-Schneider system. We also conjecture that the chiral flow in the vortex fluid provides the proper framework for the microscopic description of such dimensional transmutation in the 1+1d hydrodynamics. We provide a geometric description of this phenomenon in terms of the ADHM moduli space.

On Quiver W-algebras and Defects from Gauge Origami

In this note, using Nekrasov's gauge origami framework, we study two different versions of the the BPS/CFT correspondence - first, the standard AGT duality and, second, the quiver W algebra construction which has been developed recently by Kimura and Pestun. The gauge origami enables us to work with both dualities simultaneously and find exact matchings between the parameters. In our main example of an A-type quiver gauge theory, we show that the corresponding quiver qW-algebra and its representations are closely related to a large-n limit of spherical gl(n) double affine Hecke algebra whose modules are described by instanton partition functions of a defect quiver theory.

qKZ/tRS Duality via Quantum K-Theoretic Counts

We show that normalized quantum K-theoretic vertex functions for cotangent bundles of partial flag varieties are the eigenfunctions of quantum trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider (tRS) Hamiltonians. Using recently observed relations between quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov (qKZ) equations and tRS integrable system we derive a nontrivial identity for vertex functions with relative insertions.
