Albanese map for Kähler manifolds with nef anticanonical bundle

We study the structure of the Albanese map for Kähler manifolds with nef anticanonical bundle. First, we give a result for fourfolds whose Albanse torus is an elliptic curve. In the general case of any dimension, we look at two cases: The general fiber of the Albanese map is a Calabi-Yau manifold or a projective space. In the first case, we show that the manifold itself must be Calabi-Yau. In the second case, we give a more topological proof of a result by Cao and Höring which says that the manifold must be a projectivization of a numerically flat vector bundle.

Hermite--Einstein metrics in singular settings

In this article we pursue the following main goals. In the first place, we establish the existence of "estimable" Hermite--Einstein metrics for stable reflexive coherent sheaves on compact normal Kähler spaces. If moreover the background variety has klt singularities, we obtain a much more precise result.

Kähler spaces with zero first Chern class: Bochner principle, Albanese map and fundamental groups

Let $X$ be a compact Kähler space with klt singularities and vanishing first Chern class. We prove the Bochner principle for holomorphic tensors on the smooth locus of $X$: any such tensor is parallel with respect to the singular Ricci-flat metrics. As a consequence, after a finite quasi-étale cover $X$ splits off a complex torus of the maximum possible dimension. We then proceed to decompose the tangent sheaf of $X$ according to its holonomy representation. In particular, we classify those $X$ which have strongly stable tangent sheaf: up to quasi-étale covers, these are either irreducible Calabi--Yau or irreducible holomorphic symplectic. As an application of these results, we show that if $X$ has dimension four, then it satisfies Campana's Abelianity Conjecture.

Positivity of direct images with a Poincaré type twist

We consider a holomorphic family $f:\mathcal{X} \to S$ of compact complex manifolds and a line bundle $\mathcal{L}\to \mathcal{X}$. Given that $\mathcal{L}^{-1}$ carries a singular hermitian metric that has Poincaré type singularities along a relative snc divisor $\mathcal{D}$, the direct image $f_*(K_{\mathcal{X}/S}\otimes \mathcal{D} \otimes \mathcal{L})$ carries a smooth hermitian metric. In case $\mathcal{L}$ is relatively positive, we give an explicit formula for its curvature. The result applies to families of log-canonically polarized pairs. Moreover we show that it improves the general positivity result of Berndtsson-Păun in a special situation of a big line bundle.

An approach to Griffiths conjecture

The Griffiths conjecture asserts that every ample vector bundle $E$ over a compact complex manifold $S$ admits a hermitian metric with positive curvature in the sense of Griffiths. In this article we give a sufficient condition for a positive hermitian metric on $\mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}(E^*)}(1)$ to induce a Griffiths positive $L^2$-metric on the vector bundle $E$. This result suggests to study the relative Kähler-Ricci flow on $\mathcal{O}_{\mathbb{P}(E^*)}(1)$ for the fibration $\mathbb{P}(E^*)\to S$. We define a flow and give arguments for the convergence.

Curvature of higher direct images

Given a holomorphic family $f:\mathcal{X} \to S$ of compact complex manifolds of dimension $n$ and a relatively ample line bundle $L\to \mathcal{X}$, the higher direct images $R^{n-p}f_*Ω^p_{\mathcal{X}/S}(L)$ carry a natural hermitian metric. We give an explicit formula for the curvature tensor of these direct images. This generalizes the result of Schumacher, where he computed the curvature of $R^{n-p}f_*Ω^p_{\mathcal{X}/S}(K_{\mathcal{X}/S}^{\otimes m})$ for a family of canonically polarized manifolds. For $p=n$, it coincides with a formula of Berndtsson. Thus, when $L$ is globally ample, we reprove his result on the Nakano positivity of $f_*(K_{\mathcal{X}/F}\otimes L)$.

Kähler geometry on Hurwitz spaces

We study the Kähler geometry of the classical Hurwitz space $\mathcal{H}^{n,b}$ of simple branched coverings of the Riemann sphere $\mathbb{P}^1$ by compact hyperbolic Riemann surfaces. A generalized Weil-Petersson metric on the Hurwitz space was recently introduced. Deformations of simple branched coverings fit into the more general framework of Horikawa's deformation theory of holomorphic maps, which we equip with distinguished representatives in the presence of hermitian metrics. In the article we will investigate the curvature of the generalized Weil-Petersson Kähler metric on the Hurwitz space.

Twisted Hodge filtration: Curvature of the determinant

Given a holomorphic family $f:\mathcal{X} \to S$ of compact complex manifolds and a relative ample line bundle $L\to \mathcal{X}$, the higher direct images $R^{n-p}f_*Ω^p_{\mathcal{X}/S}(L)$ carry a natural hermitian metric. Using the explicit formula for the curvature tensor of these direct images, we prove that the determinant of the twisted Hodge filtration $F^p_L=\oplus_{i\geq p}R^{n-i}Ω^i_{\mathcal{X}/S}(L)$ is (semi-) positive on the base $S$ if $L$ itself is (semi-) positive on $\mathcal{X}$.
