Quantum-Corrected $ϕ^{4}$ Inflation in Light of ACT Observations

Recent measurements from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT), combined with Planck and DESI data, suggest a scalar spectral index $n_s$ higher than the Planck 2018 baseline, thereby placing conventional attractor-type inflationary models such as Starobinsky $R^2$ and Higgs inflation under increasing tension at the $\gtrsim 2σ$ level. In this work, we examine quantum-corrected $ϕ^4$ inflation with a non-minimal coupling to gravity. Introducing an anomalous scaling parameter $γ$ to capture quantum corrections to the effective potential, we derive analytic expressions for the inflationary observables $n_s$ and $r$. Confronting these predictions with ACT, Planck, and BAO+lensing constraints, we demonstrate that modest values of $γ$ can raise $n_s$ into the ACT-preferred range while maintaining a strongly suppressed tensor-to-scalar ratio. For instance, with $N=60$ and $γ\simeq 0.006$, the model predicts $n_s\simeq 0.974$ and $r\simeq 0.007$, in excellent agreement with current bounds. We further investigate preheating dynamics, focusing on particle production via parametric resonance in quantum-corrected $ϕ^4$ inflation with a non-minimal coupling to gravity. In this scenario, the inflaton $ϕ$ couples to an additional scalar $χ$ through an interaction $g^{2}ϕ^{2}χ^{2}$. In Minkowski spacetime, the resonance dynamics reduce to the Mathieu equation, and we find that broad resonance can be readily achieved, leading to efficient particle production.

Black Holes in Lorentz-Violating Gravity: Thermodynamics, Geometry, and Particle Dynamics

We investigate the thermodynamics, topology, and geometry of black holes in Lorentz-violating gravity. Modifications in the theory by perturbative parameter lead to coupled changes in horizon structure and thermodynamic behaviour, allowing us to derive generalized universal relations and explore implications for the Weak Gravity Conjecture. The thermodynamic topology reveals distinct topological charges, with photon spheres identified as robust topological defects. Our analysis shows that the Ruppeiner curvature remains universally negative across thermodynamic ensembles, indicating dominant attractive interactions among microstructures. This ensemble-independent behaviour highlights a fundamental thermodynamic universality in Lorentz-violating settings. Together, these results provide a consistent and rich framework for understanding black hole microphysics and gravitational consistency in modified theories. We further study the motion of timelike test particles in these black hole spacetimes by analyzing the effective potential shaped by the Lorentz-violating couplings. The resulting dynamics reveal the existence of bound orbits and stable circular trajectories, with the location of the innermost stable circular orbit and turning points significantly influenced by the parameters $\ell_{1,2}$, and the cosmological constant. Numerical simulations of trajectories in the $x-y,\,x-z$, and 3D planes show precessing, bounded, and plunging orbits, depending on the particle's specific energy and angular momentum. These results highlight how Lorentz-violating effects alter the structure of geodesic motion and provide potential observational signatures in the dynamics of massive particles near black holes.

Traversable Wormholes in Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg Gravity: Geometry, Energy Conditions, and Gravitational Lensing

In this study, we investigate traversable wormholes within the framework of Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg (EEH) nonlinear electrodynamics. By employing the Einstein field equations with quantum corrections from the Euler-Heisenberg Lagrangian, we derive wormhole solutions and examine their geometric, physical, and gravitational properties. Two redshift function models are analyzed: one with a constant redshift function and another with a radial-dependent function $Φ=r_{0}/r$. Our analysis demonstrates that the inclusion of quantum corrections significantly influences the wormhole geometry, particularly by mitigating the need for exotic matter. The shape function and energy density are derived and examined in both models, revealing that the energy conditions, including the weak and null energy conditions (WEC and NEC), are generally violated at the wormhole throat. However, satisfaction of the strong energy condition (SEC) is observed, consistent with the nature of traversable wormholes. The Arnowitt-Deser-Misner (ADM) mass of the EEH wormhole is calculated, showing contributions from geometric, electromagnetic, and quantum corrections. The mass decreases with the Euler-Heisenberg correction parameter, indicating that quantum effects contribute significantly to the wormhole mass. Furthermore, we investigate gravitational lensing within the EEH wormhole geometry using the Gauss-Bonnet theorem, revealing that the deflection angle is influenced by both the electric charge and the nonlinear parameter. The nonlinear electrodynamic corrections enhance the gravitational lensing effect, particularly at smaller impact parameters.

Scalar Field Dynamics in Non-Minimally Coupled Theories via the Noether Symmetry and the Eisenhart-Duval Lift

This study investigates the dynamics of a non-minimally coupled (NMC) scalar field in modified gravity, employing the Noether gauge symmetry (NGS) approach to systematically derive exact cosmological solutions. By formulating a point-like Lagrangian and analyzing the corresponding Euler-Lagrange equations, conserved quantities were identified, reducing the complexity of the dynamical system. Through the application of Noether symmetry principles, the scalar field potential was found to follow a power-law form, explicitly dependent on the coupling parameter $ξ$, influencing the evolution of the universe. The study further explores inflationary dynamics, showing that for specific values of $ξ$, the potential resembles the Higgs-like structure, contributing to a deeper understanding of early cosmic expansion. To enhance the theoretical framework, the Eisenhart lift method was introduced, providing a geometric interpretation of the system by embedding the dynamical variables within an extended field space. This approach established a connection between the kinetic terms and Killing vectors, offering an alternative perspective on the conserved quantities. The study also derived geodesic equations governing the evolution of the system, reinforcing the link between symmetry-based techniques and fundamental cosmological properties.

Tilt and Tensor-to-Scalar Ratio in Multi-Scalar Field Inflation: Non-Sum-Separable Case

The canonical multi-scalar field inflation where the kinetic and potential terms are sum-separable is ruled out by the current observations for the chaotic-type potential $V=\sum_{i} μ_{i} ϕ_{i}^{p}$. This paper explores the non-sum-separable case to validate the chaotic-type potential in the multi-scalar field, incorporating a linear coupling term between the kinetic and potential terms in the canonical Lagrangian. This coupling influences the slow-roll parameters and also alters our predictions for the spectral index $n_{s}$ and the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$, which directly depend on those parameters. In fact, compared to standard canonical multi-field inflation, the values of $n_{s}$ and $r$ decrease to levels consistent with the recent Planck+BICEP/Keck constraint.

Kiselev-inspired Wormholes

In this study, we investigate traversable wormholes inspired by the Kiselev framework, which extends classical black hole solutions by incorporating anisotropic fluids. These exotic fluids play a crucial role in cosmology, particularly in explaining phenomena such as the accelerated expansion of the universe. We generalize the Kiselev framework to static, spherically symmetric traversable wormholes and analyze their properties under two distinct models of the redshift function: a constant redshift function and one that varies inversely with the radial coordinate. We examine the energy conditions-specifically the Null Energy Condition (NEC), Weak Energy Condition (WEC), and Strong Energy Condition (SEC)-for these models, demonstrating that only certain exotic fluids can sustain the wormhole structure. Furthermore, we quantify the amount of exotic matter required to maintain these wormholes using the volume integral quantifier and compare our results with other wormhole models. Additionally, we compute the effective potential for photons in Kiselev-inspired wormholes under both redshift function models and analyze their implications for weak gravitational lensing. Our findings suggest that Kiselev-inspired wormholes could serve as viable candidates for exotic geometries, potentially paving the way for future observational verification.

Probing single-field inflation: predictions, constraints, and theoretical viewpoints

This work investigates a single-field inflationary model, a specific class of the K-essence models where a coupling term exists between canonical Lagrangian and the potential. This coupling term has many effects on key inflationary parameters consisting of the power spectral, the spectral index, the tensor-to-scalar ratio, the Hubble parameter, the equation of state parameter, and the slow-roll parameter. By solving the equations numerically and deriving analytical results, how this modification affects inflationary dynamics can be analyzed. Our results show that the coupling term, $α$, decreases the inflationary parameters, such as the tensor-to-scalar ratio, $r$, and improves the consistency with observational constraints from Planck and BICEP/Keck at the $68 \%$ and $95 \%$ confidence. These findings indicate that the studied model provides a promising alternative to the early universe dynamics while aligning with recent cosmological observations.

Cosmological dynamics of interacting dark energy and dark matter in $f(Q)$ gravity

In this work, we explore the behavior of interacting dark energy and dark matter within a model of $f(Q)$ gravity, employing a standard framework of dynamical system analysis. We consider the power-law $f(Q)$ model incorporating with two different forms of interacting dark energy and dark matter: $3αHρ_m$ and $\fracα{3H}ρ_m ρ_{DE}$. The evolution of $Ω_m, Ω_r, Ω_{DE}, q$, and $ω$ for different values of the model parameter $n$ and the interaction parameter $α$ has been examined. Our results show that the universe was dominated by matter in the early stages and will be dominated by dark energy in later stages. Using the observational data, the fixed points are found to be stable and can be represented the de Sitter and quintessence acceleration solutions. We discover that the dynamical profiles of the universe in $f(Q)$ dark energy models are influenced by both the interaction term and the relevant model parameters.

Stability of Extremal Black Holes and Weak Cosmic Censorship Conjecture in Kiselev Spacetime

In this study, we investigate the Weak Gravity Conjecture (WGC) and Weak Cosmic Censorship Conjecture (WCCC) for a quantum-corrected Reissner-Nordström Anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black hole embedded in Kiselev spacetime. By making small perturbations to the action and using WGC, we investigate the stability of black holes and predict the existence of lighter particles in the spectrum. Using the scattering of a charged scalar field, we study the WCCC. We verify under certain conditions on the temperature of the black hole, the second law holds for near-extremal black holes. Finally, we demonstrate that the WCCC holds for both extremal and near-extremal black holes.

Warm non-minimally coupled Peccei-Quinn Inflation and de Sitter Swampland Conjecture

In this study, we explore the dynamics of warm inflation within a non-minimally coupled Peccei-Quinn (PQ) framework and evaluate its compatibility with the de Sitter Swampland Conjecture. Our model incorporates a PQ scalar field that is non-minimally coupled to gravity, facilitating inflation through a dissipative process that sustains a thermal bath, thereby distinguishing it from conventional cold inflation. We analyze the dissipation coefficient defined as $Γ(T, σ) = C_n T^n σ^p M^{1-n-p}$, where $C_n$ is a dimensionless constant, $M$ is a mass scale, and $n$ and $p$ are numerical powers. Our investigation focuses on three specific cases: (a) A temperature-dependent dissipation coefficient with an inverse relation, $Γ= C_{-1}\,σ^2/T$, where $n=-1$ and $p=2$; (b) A dissipation coefficient linear in field $ϕ$, $Γ= C_{0} σ$, where $n=0$ and $p=1$; and (c) A dissipation coefficient linear in temperature $T$, $Γ= C_{1} T$, where $n=1$ and $p=0$. By examining the slow-roll dynamics in these inflationary scenarios, we derive essential cosmological parameters, including the scalar spectral index and the tensor-to-scalar ratio. We compare our results with the latest observational data from Planck 2018. Our findings suggest that the model is consistent with observational constraints while simultaneously satisfying the de Sitter Swampland conditions.

Gravity Rainbow Effects on Higher Curvature Modification of R2 inflation

In this work, we study several extensions of the higher curvature modification of $R^{2}$ inflation in the context of gravity's rainbow. We modify the $(R+R^{2})$ model by adding an $f_{1}R^3$-term, an $f_{2}R^4$-term, and an $f_{3}R^{3/2}$-term to the original model. We calculate the inflationary observables and confront them using the latest observational bounds from Planck 2018 data. We assume the rainbow function of the form $\tilde{f}=1+\left(\frac{H}{M}\right)^{λ}$ with $λ$ being a rainbow parameter and $M$ a mass-dimensional parameter. We demonstrate that the power spectrum of curvature perturbation relies on the dimensionless coefficient $f_{i},\,i=1,2,3$, a rainbow parameter $λ$ and a ratio $H/M$. Likewise, the scalar spectral index $n_s$ is affected by both $f_{i}$ and the rainbow parameter. Moreover, the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$ is solely determined by the rainbow parameter. Interestingly, by ensuring that $n_s$ aligns with the Planck collaboration's findings at the $1σ$ confidence level, the tensor-to-scalar ratio could reach up to $r\sim 0.01$, which is possibly measurable for detection in forthcoming Stage IV CMB ground experiments and is certainly feasible for future dedicated space missions.

Exploring Self-Gravitating Cylindrical Structures in Modified Gravity: Insights from Scalar-Vector-Tensor Theory

We investigate static cylindrical solutions within an extended theory of modified gravity. By incorporating various coupling functions through a straightforward boost symmetry approach, we establish the equations of motion in a self-consistent manner and subsequently determine the linear scalar field profile. Utilizing analytical methods, we solve the system of equations for the metric functions and the $U(1)$ gauge field, revealing their dependence on Bessel's functions. To comprehend gravito-objects exhibiting cylindrical symmetry, we develop a perturbative framework aimed at identifying all nontrivial solutions for the scalar profiles. Introducing first-order truncated perturbation equations for the gauge field, synchronized with metric gauges and electromagnetic field considerations, we demonstrate their integrability and obtain solutions through quadrature. Our findings suggest the feasibility of obtaining self-gravitating cylindrical structures within the scalar-vector-tensor theory.

Charged Wormhole Solutions in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet Gravity

In the present work, we construct models of static wormholes within the framework of 4-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (4D EGB) gravity an (an)isotropic energy momentum tensor (EMT) and a Maxwell field as supporting matters for the wormhole geometry assuming a constant redshift function. We obtain exact spherically symmetric wormhole solutions in 4D EGB gravity for an isotropic and anisotropic matter sources under the effect of electric charge. The solutions are more generalized in the sense of incorporating the charge contributions. Furthermore, we examine the null, weak and strong energy conditions at the wormhole throat of radius $r=r_{0}$. We demonstrate that at the wormhole throat, the classical energy conditions are violated by arbitrary small amount. Additionally, we analyze the wormhole geometry incorporating semiclassical corrections through embedding diagrams. We discover that the wormhole solutions are in equilibrium as the anisotropic and hydrostatic forces cancel each other.

Observational Constraints on Asymptotic Safety Inflation in Gravity Rainbow

Using suitable Renormalization Group (RG) based re-summation of quantum corrections to $R^2$ term, a re-summed version of the effective Lagrangian can be obtained \cite{Demmel:2015oqa}. In the context of gravity as an Asymptotically Safe (AS) theory, authors of Refs.\cite{Liu:2018hno,Koshelev:2022olc} proposed a refined Starobinsky model, $L_{\rm AS} = M^{2}_{p} R/2+(α/2)R^{2}/[1+β\ln(R/μ^{2})]$, where $R$ is the Ricci scalar, $α$ and $β$ are constants and $μ$ is an energy scale. In the present work, we embed this underlying effective Lagrangian within the framework of gravity's rainbow. By implementing the COBE normalization and the Planck constraint on the scalar spectrum, we demonstrate that the power spectrum of curvature perturbation relies on $α$ and $β$, as well as on a rainbow parameter. Similarly, the scalar spectral index $n_s$ is influenced by $β$ and the rainbow parameter, yet remains unaffected by $α$. Additionally, the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$ solely depends on the rainbow parameter. Remarkably, when requiring $n_s$ to be consistent with the Planck collaboration at $1σ$ confidence level, the upper limit on the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r < 0.036$ can be naturally satisfied. This value potentially holds promise for potential measurement by Stage IV CMB ground experiments and is certainly within reach of future dedicated space missions.

High-Temperature Modifications of Charged Casimir Wormholes

In this work, we extend the investigation of the consequences of thermal fluctuations on the Casimir effect within the context of a traversable wormhole, recently proposed by Garattini \& Faizal, arXiv:2403.15174 [gr-qc], subject to charge contributions. Specifically, we focus on scenarios where the plates exhibit both constant and radial variations. In our analysis, we initially concentrate on the high temperature approximation, considering solely the influence of charge on the thermal Casimir wormholes. Additionally, upon incorporating Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) corrections to the Casimir energy, we obtain a new class of wormhole solutions. Notably, we establish that the flare-out condition remains consistently satisfied. Intriguingly, our findings reveal that both the charge and GUP contributions serve to further enlarge the throat's size in the radial variation.

Traversable Wormholes in Minimally Geometrical Deformed Trace-Free Gravity using Gravitational Decoupling

In this work, we investigate wormhole solutions through the utilization of gravitational decoupling, employing the Minimal Geometric Deformation (MGD) procedure within the framework of Trace-Free Gravity. We base our investigation on static and spherically symmetric Morris-Thorne traversable wormholes, considering both constant and variable equation of state parameters. We derive the field equations and extract the shape function for each scenario. Moreover, we explore the gravitational decoupling technique and examine various forms of energy density for both a smeared and particle-like gravitational source, encompassing the realm of noncommutative geometry and a statically charged fluid. We also examinethe wormhole geometry through the utilization of embedding diagrams. Through our analysis, we uncover a violation of the Null Energy Condition (NEC). To conclude, we employ the Gauss-Bonnet theorem to determine the weak deflection angle for the wormhole configurations.

Traversable Wormholes supported by Holographic Dark Energy with a modified Equation of State

Inspired by holographic dark energy models, we consider different energy density profiles as possible sources needed to have traversable wormholes solutions. Since such energy densities are all positive, we are forced to introduce an equation of state of the form $p_{r}% (r)=ω_{r}\left( r\right) ρ(r)$. We will find that Zero Tidal Forces can be imposed at the price of having the function $ω_{r}\left( r\right) $ divergent for $r\rightarrow\infty$. To overcome this inconvenient, we abandon the request of having Zero Tidal Forces, by introducing appropriate modifications on the function $ω_{r}\left( r\right) $ in such a way to obtain a finite result everywhere. We will find that such modifications will leave the behavior of the Equation of State close to the throat invariant. Moreover, despite of the initial assumption, we will find that every dark energy profile will be moved into the phantom region. Among the different energy density proposals, only one profile will not require a modification of the original $ω_{r}\left(r\right) $ to have Zero Tidal Forces. Such an energy density profile will be consistent with the appearance of a Global Monopole.

Shadows and photon spheres in static and rotating traversable wormholes

The shadows and photon spheres are investigated for both static and rotating traversable wormholes. In particular, with a red-shift function constructed in combination with two distinct shape functions, the null geodesic equation is found to predict the light trajectory. To explore observable phenomena and gain a deeper understanding of the gravitational influences originating from wormholes, we explicitly demonstrate the shadow produced and photon spheres associated with both static and rotating traversable wormholes by taking into account the gravitational lensing effects and photon motion in strong gravitational fields. Specifically, the ray tracing of the light geodesic and profiles of the intensity around both static and rotating traversable wormholes can be accomplished.
