Recent results on Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) and exclusive vector meson (VM) production obtained with the H1 detector at HERA are reviewed. Emphasis is put on the transition from soft to hard diffraction and on spin dynamics.
Exclusive vector meson production and deeply virtual Compton scattering are ideally suited reactions for studying the structure of the proton and the transition from soft to hard processes. The main experimental data obtained at HERA are summarised and presented in the light of QCD approaches.
The rich experimental landscape of exclusive vector meson production at the high energy electron-proton collider HERA is reviewed, with emphasis on the transition from soft to hard diffraction and QCD interpretations.
