HNN-extension of Lie superalgebras

We construct HNN-extensions of Lie superalgebras and prove that every Lie superalgebra embeds into any of its HNN-extensions. Then as an application we show that any Lie superalgebra with at most countable dimension embeds into a two-generator Lie superalgebra.

On the subalgebra lattice of solvable evolution algebras

The main objective of this paper is to study the relationship between a solvable evolution algebra and its subalgebra lattice, emphasizing two of its main properties: distributivity and modularity. First, we will focus on the nilpotent case, where distributivity is characterised, and a necessary condition for modularity is deduced. Subsequently, we comment on some results for solvable non-nilpotent evolution algebras, finding that the ones with maximum index of solvability have the best properties. Finally, we characterise modularity in this particular case by introducing supersolvable evolution algebras and computing the terms of the derived series.

The geometric classification of non-associative algebras: a survey

This is a survey on the geometric classification of different varieties of algebras (nilpotent, nil-, associative, commutative associative, cyclic associative, Jordan, Kokoris, standard, noncommutative Jordan, commutative power-associative, weakly associative, terminal, Lie, Malcev, binary Lie, Tortkara, dual mock Lie, $\mathfrak{CD}$-, commutative $\mathfrak{CD}$-, anticommutative $\mathfrak{CD}$-, symmetric Leibniz, Leibniz, Zinbiel, Novikov, bicommutative, assosymmetric, antiassociative, left-symmetric, right alternative, and right commutative), $n$-ary algebras (Fillipov ($n$-Lie), Lie triple systems and anticommutative ternary), superalgebras (Lie and Jordan), and Poisson-type algebras (Poisson, transposed Poisson, Leibniz-Poisson, generic Poisson, generic Poisson-Jordan, transposed Leibniz-Poisson, Novikov-Poisson, pre-Lie Poisson, commutative pre-Lie, anti-pre-Lie Poisson, pre-Poisson, compatible commutative associative, compatible associative, compatible Novikov, compatible pre-Lie). We also discuss the degeneration level classification.

Modularity conditions in Leibniz algebras

In this paper we continue the study of the subalgebra lattice of a Leibniz algebra. In particular, we find out that solvable Leibniz algebras with an upper semi-modular lattice are either almost-abelian or have an abelian ideal spanned by the elements with square zero. We also study Leibniz algebras in which every subalgebra is a weak quasi-ideal, as well as modular symmetric Leibniz algebras.

Counterexamples to the Zassenhaus conjecture on simple modular Lie algebras

We provide an infinite family of counterexamples to the conjecture of Zassenhaus on the solvability of the outer derivation algebra of a simple modular Lie algebra. In fact, we show that the simple modular Lie algebras $H(2;(1,n))^{(2)}$ of dimension $3^{n+1}-2$ in characteristic $p=3$ do not have a solvable outer derivation algebra for all $n\ge 1$. For $n=1$ this recovers the known counterexample of $\mathfrak{psl}_3(F)$. We show that the outer derivation algebra of $H(2;(1,n))^{(2)}$ is isomorphic to $(\mathfrak{sl}_2(F)\ltimes V(2))\oplus F^{n-1}$, where $V(2)$ is the natural representation of $\mathfrak{sl}_2(F)$. We also study other known simple Lie algebras in characteristic three, but they do not yield a new counterexample.

Central extensions of axial algebras

In this article, we develop a further adaptation of the method of Skjelbred-Sund to construct central extensions of axial algebras. We use our method to prove that all axial central extensions (with respect to a maximal set of axes) of complex simple finite-dimensional Jordan algebras are split and that all non-split axial central extensions of dimension $n\leq 4$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic not $2$ are Jordan. Also, we give a classification of $2$-dimensional axial algebras and describe some important properties of these algebras.
