Analytical approach of late-time evolution in a torsion cosmology

In this letter, we study the late-time evolution of a torsion cosmology only with the spin-$0^+$ mode. We find three kinds of analytical solutions with a constant affine scalar curvature. In the first case, it is not physical because the matter density will be negative. In the second case, it shows that the dark energy can be mimicked in the torsion cosmological model. In the third case, the characteristic of late-time evolution is similar to that of the universe of matter dominant. And we also find a kind of expression with the non-constant curvature that the periodic character of numerical calculation is only the reflection of solution in a specific period of evolution. Using these expressions, we shall be able to predict the evolution over the late-time. From this prediction, we know the fate of universe that the universe would expand forever, slowly asymtotically to a halt.

On character sums over flat numbers

Let $q\geqslant2$ be an integer, $χ$ be any non-principal character mod $q$, and $H=H(q)\leqslant q.$ In this paper the authors prove some estimates for character sums of the form \[\mathcal{W}(χ,H;q)=\sum_{n\in\mathscr{F}(H)}χ(n),\] where \[\mathscr{F}(H)=\left\{n\in\mathbb{Z}|(n,q)=1,1\leqslant n,\bar{n}\leqslant q, |n-\bar{n}|\leqslant H\},\] $\bar{n}$ is defined by $n\bar{n}\equiv1\pmod q.$

Quasinormal modes of a black hole with quintessence-like matter and a deficit solid angle: scalar and gravitational perturbations

In the previous paper (Li, X. Z., Xi, P., Zhai, X. H.: Phys. Lett. B{\bf666}, 125-130 (2008)), we show the solutions of Einstein equations with static spherically-symmetric quintessence-like matter surrounding a global monopole. Furthermore, this monopole become a black hole with quintessence-like matter and a deficit solid angle when it is swallowed by an ordinary black hole. We study its quasinormal modes by WKB method in this paper. The numerical results show that both the real part of the quasinormal frequencies and the imaginary part decrease as the state parameter $w$, for scalar and gravitational perturbations. And we also show variations of quasinormal frequencies of scalar and gravitational fields via different $ε$ (deficit solid angel parameter) and different $ρ_0$ (density of static spherically-symmetric quintessence-like matter at $r=1$), respectively.

Statefinder diagnostic in a torsion cosmology

We apply the statefinder diagnostic to the torsion cosmology, in which an accounting for the accelerated universe is considered in term of a Riemann-Cartan geometry: dynamic scalar torsion. We find that there are some typical characteristic of the evolution of statefinder parameters for the torsion cosmology that can be distinguished from the other cosmological models. Furthermore, we also show that statefinder diagnostic has a direct bearing on the critical points. The statefinder diagnostic divides the torsion parameter $a_1$ into differential ranges, which is in keeping with the requirement of dynamical analysis. In addition, we fit the scalar torsion model to ESSENCE supernovae data and give the best fit values of the model parameters.

Torsion cosmological dynamics

In this paper, the dynamical attractor and heteroclinic orbit have been employed to make the late-time behaviors of the model insensitive to the initial condition and thus alleviate the fine-tuning problem in the torsion cosmology. The late-time de Sitter attractor indicates that torsion cosmology is an elegant scheme and the scalar torsion mode is an interesting geometric quantity for physics. The numerical solutions obtained by Nester et al. are not periodic solutions, but are quasi-periodic solutions near the focus for the coupled nonlinear equations.

Global monopole surrounded by quintessence-like matter

We present new static spherically-symmetric solutions of Einstein equations with the quintessence-like matter surrounding a global monopole. These new solutions of the coupling scalar-Einstein equations are more complicated, which depend on the parameter of equation of state $-1 < w_{q} <-{1/3}$. A gravitating global monopole produces a gravitational field of de Sitter kind outside the core in addition to a solid angular deficit. In the $w_{q} = -{1/3}$ case, we have proved that the solution cannot exist since the density of quintessence-like tends to zero if $w_{q} \to -{1/3}$. As a new feature, these monopoles have the outer horizon depending on both Goldstone field and quintessence-like. Since current observations constrain $-1.14 < w_{q} < -0.93$, new global monopoles have interesting astrophysical applications.

Object Picture of Quasinormal Modes for Stringy Black Holes

We study the quasinormal modes (QNMs) for stringy black holes. By using numerical calculation, the relations between the QNMs and the parameters of black holes are minutely shown. For (1+1)-dimensional stringy black hole, the real part of the quasinormal frequency increases and the imaginary part of the quasinormal frequency decreases as the mass of the black hole increases. Furthermore, the dependence of the QNMs on the charge of the black hole and the flatness parameter is also illustrated. For (1+3)-dimensional stringy black hole, increasing either the event horizon or the multipole index, the real part of the quasinormal frequency decreases. The imaginary part of the quasinormal frequency increases no matter whether the event horizon is increased or the multipole index is decreased.

Quasinormal Modes and Late-Time Tails of Canonical Acoustic Black Holes

In this paper, we investigate the evolution of classical wave propagation in the canonical acoustic black hole by numerical method and discuss the details of tail phenomenon. The oscillating frequency and damping time scale both increase with the angular momentum $l$. For the lower $l$, numerical results show the lowest WKB approximation gives the most reliable result. We also find that time scale of the interim region from ringing to tail is not affected obviously by changing $l$.
