This paper determines tangential structure set of $\#_k\mathbb{C}P^{n}$, for $3\leq n \leq 7$, by analyzing their stable cohomotopy groups and $KO$-groups. As a consequence, it establishes the existence of manifolds with tangential homotopy type but not homeomorphic to $\#_k\mathbb{C}P^{n}$ for $n=4,5$.
In this paper, the concordance structure set of connected sums of complex and quaternionic projective spaces in the real $n$-dimensional range with $8\leq n\leq 16$ is computed. It is demonstrated that the concordance inertia group of a connected sum equals the sum of individual concordance inertia groups. Furthermore, the concordance structure sets of manifolds and their connected sums are compared.
In this paper, we identify the concordance classes of smooth structures on $PL$-manifolds of dimension between $8$ and $10$ in terms of the cohomology and Steenrod operations. This leads to the computation of the homotopy inertia groups. Finally we discuss the special cases of Lens spaces and real projective spaces.
