Uniqueness problem for Prandtl spirals

In this paper, we study the problem of uniqueness of a divergence-free velocity field with vorticity given by the Prandtl spiral. We show that if the class of admissible velocities is restricted to those satisfying the velocity matching condition and an appropriate decay condition at the origin of the spiral, then the velocity field is uniquely determined. We subsequently extend the result to the case of fields with vorticity composed of unions of concentric logarithmic spirals. As a by-product, we derive an alternative way of deriving formula for the velocity corresponding to the Prandtl spirals. The proof relies on an approach that is of independent interest. We construct an explicit conformal map from the exterior of a logarithmic spiral onto a strip. This transformation reduces the problem to establishing the uniqueness of a holomorphic function defined on the strip, under non-standard boundary and decay conditions.

Local well-posedness of Kolmogorov's two-equation model of turbulence in fractional Sobolev Spaces

We study Kolmogorov's two-equation model of turbulence on $d-$dimensional torus. First, the local existence of the solution with the initial data from non-homogeneous fractional Sobolev spaces (Bessel potential spaces) $H^s$ with $s>\frac{d}{2}$ is proven using energy methods. Next, we show that solutions are unique in the class of solutions guaranteed by the local existence theorem.

Local in time solution to Kolmogorov's two-equation model of turbulence

We prove the existence of local in time solution to Kolmogorov's two-equation model of turbulence in three dimensional domain with periodic boundary conditions. We apply Galerkin method for appropriate truncated problem. Next, we obtain estimates for a limit of approximate solutions to ensure that it satisfies the original problem.

Existence and regularity result for Stokes system with special inlet/outlet condition

Our aim is to analyse special type of boundary conditions, created to simulate flows like in cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Firstly, we will describe model of viscous, incompressible fluid in a domain consisting many inlets and outlets with open dissipative boundary conditions. The conditions are augmented by the inertia terms. We are posing additional constrains on a fluid motion by a volumetric flow rates or inlet/outlet pressure. Afterwards, we will define weak formulation of the problem and its motivation. Then, we will prove mathematical correctness of proposed conditions by properly modified Galerkin method. Also, we will prove existence of a solution and its uniqueness.
