Optically induced metallic state with persistent monoclinic symmetry in NdNiO$_3$

Understanding whether electronic and structural order remain coupled under nonequilibrium conditions is a central challenge in correlated materials. Here, we simultaneously track metallicity and symmetry across the photoinduced insulator-to-metal transition in NdNiO$_3$ using time-resolved optical reflectivity and symmetry-sensitive second-harmonic generation. We find that metallic reflectivity emerges at significantly lower excitation fluence than restoration of the orthorhombic high-temperature symmetry. As a result, optical excitation stabilizes a metastable state that combines the reflectivity of the metallic phase with the monoclinic symmetry of the insulating phase, revealing an optically induced monoclinic metal. Only at substantially higher fluences does the symmetry fully recover to that of the high-temperature phase. These results demonstrate a nonequilibrium decoupling of metallicity and structural symmetry and establish simultaneous multiprobe spectroscopy as a powerful approach for identifying emergent phases in correlated materials.

LetOccVote: Learning Weakly Supervised 3D Occupancy through Consensus

Weakly supervised 3D occupancy prediction reduces the reliance on costly 3D annotations by learning from 2D pseudo-labels generated by vision foundation models. However, existing methods typically use these imperfect pseudo-labels directly as supervision, making occupancy learning vulnerable to erroneous geometric and semantic targets. We observe that agreement across repeated observations provides an inexpensive and reliable cue for assessing pseudo-label reliability. Based on this observation, we propose \textbf{LetOccVote}, a weakly supervised Gaussian-based occupancy framework that leverages cross-frame voting to improve both geometric and semantic supervision. For geometry, Depth Vote exploits cross-frame geometric agreement to refine supported pseudo depth and reject contradictory estimates before volumetric lifting and depth supervision. For semantics, Semantic Vote aggregates pseudo-semantic observations in a shared 3D space to identify reliable and contested evidence, strengthening reliable semantic supervision while filtering unreliable pseudo-label segments. The entire framework is trained solely with 2D pseudo-label supervision without requiring 3D occupancy annotations. On Occ3D-nuScenes, LetOccVote achieves 53.27 IoU and 20.39 mIoU, establishing state-of-the-art performance among methods with 2D pseudo-label supervision.

Generating Multi-view Adversarial Examples for Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer

The Visual Geometry Grounded Transformer (VGGT) enables unified feed-forward 3D reconstruction from multi-view images. However, deploying such a high-performance model may expose critical security vulnerabilities. Traditional adversarial perturbations require costly per-scene optimization, while Universal Adversarial Perturbations (UAPs) rely on a single static pattern and fail to effectively attack VGGT. To address these limitations, we propose \textbf{MVAP-G}, a multi-view adversarial perturbation generator that produces imperceptible consistent perturbations across multiple views in a single feed-forward pass. To ensure perturbation consistency across diverse scenes, we design a cross-view adversarial alignment mechanism to process multi-view images. Experiments demonstrate that MVAP-G significantly degrades VGGT performance without iterative optimization during inference. This work pioneers multi-view adversarial attacks on 3D foundation models, uncovering severe vulnerabilities and underscoring the urgent need for robust 3D vision systems. GVR-Coder: A Visual-Feedback Framework for Structured SVG Generation in Complex Document and Meeting Scenarios

In demanding professional environments and meeting review scenarios, lengthy text often imposes a high cognitive load. To facilitate efficient information communication, transforming verbose text into logically clear diagrams is essential. Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) provide an effective representation for this purpose due to their editability and resolution independence. However, current research on Text-to-SVG generation remains hindered by three major challenges: (1) the scarcity of datasets for complex, logic-rich diagrams; (2) the absence of explicit layout priors, which leads to chaotic spatial arrangements; and (3) the lack of fine-grained visual feedback to validate rendered outputs and correct aesthetic defects. To address these challenges, at the data level, we introduce DocMeetSVG-100K, a large-scale SVG dataset tailored for document authoring and meeting review scenarios. At the model level, we propose GVR-Coder, a novel framework designed to generate high-quality logical diagrams from lengthy professional texts. Specifically, we adopt a curriculum-driven rejection sampling fine-tuning to progressively enhance the model's capability in modeling complex structures, while explicitly incorporating layout constraint knowledge during training. In addition, we introduce reinforcement learning from dual rendering feedback, a mechanism that provides implicit feedback through reward signals to jointly optimize structural complexity and visual aesthetics. Furthermore, we design a generate-verify-repair agent loop, which improves generation quality through explicit, fine-grained feedback and targeted refinement. Extensive experiments demonstrate that GVR-Coder outperforms competitive baselines and reliably produces logically coherent and visually appealing diagrams. Code and data are available at https://github.com/CurryaNa/GVR-Coder.

ConAlign: Conditional Alignment Framework for Balancing Biased and Unbiased Recommendation

Industry recommender systems trained on observational data suffer from various biases that create filter bubbles, causing user interests to collapse into narrow categories and severely degrading long-term engagement. While utilizing unbiased uniform data for debiasing has shown promise, existing methods remain impractical for industrial deployment due to limitations such as neglect of factual (biased) recommendation performance and the substantial computational overhead. To overcome these limitations, we propose ConAlign (Conditional Alignment Framework), a conditional debiasing approach for industrial deployment. The key innovation of ConAlign lies in a discrete gating-based conditional alignment mechanism that selectively transfers knowledge from the biased tower to the unbiased tower. Following a selective intervention paradigm rather than universal correction, it seamlessly balances factual accuracy and unbiased preference estimation while supporting real-time streaming adaptation. To the best of our knowledge, ConAlign is the first streaming debiasing recommendation framework successfully deployed in a large-scale industrial recommendation system that utilizes a small fraction of unbiased random traffic for debiasing. Extensive offline experiments on three real-world datasets rigorously validate the effectiveness of our proposed framework. Furthermore, large-scale online A/B testing on Kuaishou demonstrates significant improvements in long-term user engagement and interest diversity, with negligible latency overhead.

Dual-Flow Reinforcement Learning with State-Aware Exploration

In complex continuous-control reinforcement learning tasks, multimodal optimal actions often coincide with uncertain, multimodal return distributions, making reliable value estimation and multimodal exploration challenging. Existing value estimation methods using unimodal Gaussians restrict expressiveness and yield biased estimates. Recent generative policies can represent multimodal actions but often collapse to a few modes and under-explore high-value areas of the action space. Motivated by these challenges, we propose Dual-Flow RL, a unified actor-critic framework that jointly models a continuous return distribution and a multimodal policy distribution using conditional flow matching (CFM). This design supports reliable value estimation and sustained multimodal exploration. To further enhance exploration, we introduce an Entropy-Covariance Exploration Regulator (ECER) that enables state-aware exploration regulation leveraging policy entropy and action-uncertainty covariance. Experiments on DeepMind Control Suite and Humanoid-Bench show that Dual-Flow RL achieves state-of-the-art performance on most tasks, significantly outperforming prior diffusion-based and flow-based methods.

Probing La-based nickelates with Ni 1$s$ core-level photoelectron spectroscopy

We present a comparative Ni core level photoemission study of La$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$, Nd$_3$Ni$_2$O$_7$, and LaNiO$_3$ using both the Ni $2p$ and the Ni $1s$. We address the challenges in analyzing the widely investigated Ni $2p$ spectra arising from the substantial overlap in energy of the Ni $2p$ with the La $3d$. We show that on the other hand the deep Ni $1s$ core level does provide a clean view on the intrinsic electronic excitations and we highlight its potential to resolve detailed differences in the electronic structure within the strongly correlated Ruddlesden-Popper series La$_{n+1}$Ni$_n$O$_{3n+1}$.

Envision4D: Envisioning Visual Futures via Feed-forward 4D Gaussian Splatting for Autonomous Driving

Forecasting the future evolution of dynamic scenes is crucial in autonomous driving. However, existing feed-forward paradigms are primarily designed for interpolation. When extended to future extrapolation, they suffer from ghosting artifacts under large displacements and are constrained by simplified motion assumptions or strict future priors. To overcome these challenges, we propose Envision4D, a fully self-supervised feed-forward framework for pose-free future extrapolation. Specifically, we introduce a Future Pose Prediction module that infers future camera parameters via an iterative denoising process. Furthermore, to capture non-linear dynamics, we propose In-layer Temporal Attention and employ Conditioned Motion Lifting, which transforms the highly uncertain extrapolation process into robust relational mappings. Finally, a Progressive Training Strategy is utilized to stabilize unsupervised motion learning against error accumulation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Envision4D achieves state-of-the-art performance, significantly outperforming existing methods in future view synthesis.

TIGER: Text-Informed Generalized Enzyme-Reaction Retrieval

Enzyme-reaction retrieval is a fundamental problem in computational biology, underpinning enzyme characterization, reaction mechanism elucidation, and the rational design of metabolic pathways and biocatalysts. As a bidirectional task, it entails both enzyme-to-reaction and reaction-to-enzyme mapping. However, existing approaches suffer from poor generalization across tasks and distributions, with performance highly sensitive to dataset splits and substantial asymmetry between retrieval directions. To address these challenges, we present TIGER, a Text-Informed Generalized Enzyme-Reaction Retrieval framework that leverages protein-to-text generation models to distill textual semantic knowledge from enzyme sequences, providing a generalized representation that bridges enzymes and biochemical reactions. To ensure the quality and reliability of textual semantics, we design a Dynamic Gating Network that adaptively fuses text-derived knowledge with sequence features, enabling more consistent and informative enzyme representations, while a Structure-Shared Feature Projector aligns enzyme and reaction representations within a unified latent space. Extensive experiments demonstrate that, under bidirectional retrieval supervision, TIGER significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines across diverse distributions and exhibits strong robustness and transferability across tasks.

MKG-CARE: Case-Aware Reasoning with Multimodal Knowledge Graphs for Explainable Medical Image Diagnosis

Medical image diagnosis has achieved significant progress with deep learning, yet existing methods often rely on isolated visual evidence and lack the ability to effectively leverage similar cases and external knowledge. In clinical practice, diagnosis is typically supported by similar historical cases and their associated symptoms. To explicitly model this evidence-based diagnostic process, we propose MKG-CARE, a framework that performs case-aware reasoning using multimodal knowledge graphs for explainable medical image diagnosis. Specifically, we construct a case-aware multimodal knowledge graph as a structured diagnostic memory, where diseases, images, and symptoms are hierarchically organized. Given an input image, MKG-CARE adaptively retrieves similar cases from this memory and extracts their corresponding case-centered subgraphs. We further introduce a knowledge propagation and injection mechanism, where an image-centric Graph Attention Network aggregates heterogeneous semantics within the retrieved case subgraphs, followed by bidirectional cross-modal attention to align and inject the aggregated case knowledge into visual representations. To mitigate retrieval noise, we design a confidence-calibrated decision refinement scheme that estimates each retrieved case's reliability from prediction confidence and sample similarity, and reweights its contribution to the final prediction for interpretable case-level evidence attribution. Extensive experiments on multiple medical imaging datasets demonstrate consistent improvements over strong baselines, while ablation and qualitative analyses validate the effectiveness and interpretability of our method. The code is available at https://github.com/lyxuan1022/MKG-CARE.

Ray-Aware Pointer Memory with Adaptive Updates for Streaming 3D Reconstruction

Dense 3D reconstruction from continuous image streams requires both accurate geometric aggregation and stable long-term memory management. Recent feed-forward reconstruction frameworks integrate observations through persistent memory representations, yet most rely primarily on appearance-based similarity when updating memory. Such appearance-driven integration often leads to redundant accumulation of observations and unstable geometry when viewpoint changes occur. In this work, we propose a ray-aware pointer memory for streaming 3D reconstruction that explicitly models both spatial location and viewing direction within a unified memory representation. Each memory pointer stores its 3D position, associated ray direction, and feature embedding, allowing the system to reason jointly about geometric proximity and viewpoint consistency. Based on this representation, we introduce an adaptive pointer update strategy that replaces traditional fusion-based memory compression with a retain-or-replace mechanism. Instead of averaging nearby observations, the system selectively retains informative pointers while discarding redundant ones, preserving distinctive geometric structures while maintaining bounded memory growth. Furthermore, the joint reasoning over spatial distance and ray-direction discrepancy enables the system to distinguish between local redundancy, novel observations, and potential loop revisits in a unified manner. When loop candidates are detected, pose refinement is triggered to enforce global geometric consistency across the reconstruction. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed ray-aware memory design significantly improves long-term reconstruction stability and camera pose accuracy while maintaining efficient streaming inference. Our approach provides a principled framework for scalable and drift-resistant online 3D reconstruction from image streams.

Physics-informed Deep Mixture-of-Koopmans Vehicle Dynamics Model with Dual-branch Encoder for Distributed Electric-drive Trucks

Advanced autonomous driving systems require accurate vehicle dynamics modeling. However, identifying a precise dynamics model remains challenging due to strong nonlinearities and the coupled longitudinal and lateral dynamic characteristics. Previous research has employed physics-based analytical models or neural networks to construct vehicle dynamics representations. Nevertheless, these approaches often struggle to simultaneously achieve satisfactory performance in terms of system identification efficiency, modeling accuracy, and compatibility with linear control strategies. In this paper, we propose a fully data-driven dynamics modeling method tailored for complex distributed electric-drive trucks (DETs), leveraging Koopman operator theory to represent highly nonlinear dynamics in a lifted linear embedding space. To achieve high-precision modeling, we first propose a novel dual-branch encoder which encodes dynamic states and provides a powerful basis for the proposed Koopman-based methods entitled KODE. A physics-informed supervision mechanism, grounded in the geometric consistency of temporal vehicle motion, is incorporated into the training process to facilitate effective learning of both the encoder and the Koopman operator. Furthermore, to accommodate the diverse driving patterns of DETs, we extend the vanilla Koopman operator to a mixture-of-Koopman operator framework, enhancing modeling capability. Simulations conducted in a high-fidelity TruckSim environment and real-world experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves state-of-the-art performance in long-term dynamics state estimation.

Superconducting phase diagram of multi-layer square-planar nickelates

The discovery of superconductivity in square-planar nickelates has offered a rich materials platform to explore the origins of cuprate-like superconductivity. Experimental investigations however have largely been limited to the infinite-layer $R$NiO$_2$ ($R$=rare-earth) nickelates. Here, we construct a phase diagram of multi-layer square-planar Nd$_{n+1}$Ni$_n$O$_{2n+2}$ compounds and discover signatures of superconductivity for $n$ = 4 - 8. Upon decreasing the dimensionality $n$, the superconducting anisotropy evolves due to 4$f$ electron effects, and electronic structure characteristics approach cuprate-like behavior. Magnetic fluctuations persist from within the superconducting regime and into the over-doped, non-superconducting regime. Remarkably, the superconducting regime overlaps with that of chemically-doped infinite-layer nickelates, demonstrating underlying commonalities and distinct differences across varying structural realizations of square-planar nickelates. Our work establishes this layered template for creating new nickel-based superconductors.

Mergers Drive Structural Complexity but Not Starbursts in Lyman-$\alpha$ Emitters at $3 < z < 4$: A JWST Spatially Resolved View

Recent observations with the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) reveal that the merger fraction among Ly$\alpha$ emitters (LAEs) at redshifts $z > 3$ is significantly higher than previously estimated. In this study, we focus on three high signal-to-noise merging LAE systems at $3 < z < 4$, selected from the VLT/MUSE-Deep survey in the GOODS-S field. We combine new \textit{JWST}/NIRCam broadband and medium-band imaging with archival \textit{HST}/ACS data to perform spatially resolved spectral energy distribution (SED) fitting using the \textsc{Bagpipes} software package. Our analysis reveals that two of the systems are minor mergers, while the third is a major merger. The close agreement between spatially resolved and integrated stellar mass estimates indicates that recent star formation does not significantly outshine the light from older stellar populations in these systems. Moreover, both the individual components and the systems as a whole lie on the star-forming main sequence, further supporting the conclusion that these mergers have not yet triggered substantial starburst activity. Furthermore, we detect prominent color gradients and disturbed dust distributions in these merging systems, indicating that the mergers have already induced significant internal structural perturbations. These morphological and dust-related changes may facilitate the escape of Ly$\alpha$ photons -- potentially through mechanisms such as gas redistribution or a reduced covering fraction of neutral hydrogen -- thereby playing a key role in shaping the observed properties of LAEs.

SentGraph: Hierarchical Sentence Graph for Multi-hop Retrieval-Augmented Question Answering

Traditional Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) effectively supports single-hop question answering with large language models but faces significant limitations in multi-hop question answering tasks, which require combining evidence from multiple documents. Existing chunk-based retrieval often provides irrelevant and logically incoherent context, leading to incomplete evidence chains and incorrect reasoning during answer generation. To address these challenges, we propose SentGraph, a sentence-level graph-based RAG framework that explicitly models fine-grained logical relationships between sentences for multi-hop question answering. Specifically, we construct a hierarchical sentence graph offline by first adapting Rhetorical Structure Theory to distinguish nucleus and satellite sentences, and then organizing them into topic-level subgraphs with cross-document entity bridges. During online retrieval, SentGraph performs graph-guided evidence selection and path expansion to retrieve fine-grained sentence-level evidence. Extensive experiments on four multi-hop question answering benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of SentGraph, validating the importance of explicitly modeling sentence-level logical dependencies for multi-hop reasoning.

Towards Long-window Anchoring in Vision-Language Model Distillation

While large vision-language models (VLMs) demonstrate strong long-context understanding, their prevalent small branches fail on linguistics-photography alignment for a limited window size. We discover that knowledge distillation improves students' capability as a complement to Rotary Position Embeddings (RoPE) on window sizes (anchored from large models). Building on this insight, we propose LAid, which directly aims at the transfer of long-range attention mechanisms through two complementary components: (1) a progressive distance-weighted attention matching that dynamically emphasizes longer position differences during training, and (2) a learnable RoPE response gain modulation that selectively amplifies position sensitivity where needed. Extensive experiments across multiple model families demonstrate that LAid-distilled models achieve up to 3.2 times longer effective context windows compared to baseline small models, while maintaining or improving performance on standard VL benchmarks. Spectral analysis also suggests that LAid successfully preserves crucial low-frequency attention components that conventional methods fail to transfer. Our work not only provides practical techniques for building more efficient long-context VLMs but also offers theoretical insights into how positional understanding emerges and transfers during distillation.

CodeDance: A Dynamic Tool-integrated MLLM for Executable Visual Reasoning

Recent releases such as o3 highlight human-like "thinking with images" reasoning that combines tool use with stepwise verification, yet most open-source approaches still rely on text-only chains, rigid visual schemas, or single-step pipelines, limiting flexibility, interpretability, and transferability on complex tasks. We introduce CodeDance, which explores executable code as a general solver for visual reasoning. Unlike fixed-schema calls (e.g., only predicting bounding-box coordinates), CodeDance defines, composes, and executes code to orchestrate multiple tools, compute intermediate results, and render visual artifacts (e.g., boxes, lines, plots) that support transparent, self-checkable reasoning. To guide this process, we introduce a reward for balanced and adaptive tool calling, which balances exploration with efficiency and mitigates tool overuse. Interestingly, beyond the expected capabilities taught by atomic supervision, we empirically observe novel emergent behaviors during RL training: CodeDance demonstrates novel tool invocations, unseen compositions, and cross-task transfer. These behaviors arise without task-specific fine-tuning, suggesting a general and scalable mechanism for executable visual reasoning. Extensive experiments across reasoning benchmarks (e.g., visual search, math, chart QA) show that CodeDance not only consistently outperforms schema-driven and text-only baselines, but also surpasses closed models such as GPT-4o and larger open-source models.

High-Resolution Sensing via Quantum States Discrimination

High-resolution sensing plays a significant role in scientific research and industrial production, but the practical implementation is constrained by the physical mechanisms of the sensors. To address the critical limitation, we propose a high-resolution sensing approach based on quantum state discrimination. Distinct from conventional strategies, the proposed approach constructs measurement operators in the orthogonal complement space rather than eigenspace of the eigenstate, thereby notably improving the discriminability among quantum states. Moreover, the experimental results via an optical microcavity demonstrate a potential sensing resolution of 4 $\times$ 10\textsuperscript{-6} \degree C and 18 p$\epsilon$ respectively for temperature and strain, and further verify the feasibility of simultaneous sensing of the two parameters. This work establishs a universal approach for high-resolution sensing, and may be extended to different sensing platforms across various application scenarios.
