Vitrification-Devitrification Enables Tunable Photonic and Gas Sorption Properties of Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks

Zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) glasses represent an emerging family of melt-quenched glasses, which exhibit immense potential for applications in gas separation, energy storage, and optics. However, their intrinsic porosity remains elusive due to the inherent challenges in resolving their disordered atomistic structures. Here, we systematically investigate the porosity of ZIF-4 and ZIF-62 crystals and their corresponding glasses. CO2 sorption at 195 K enables quantitative assessment of microporosity in both crystalline and glassy states, allowing the accessible micropore volume of the ZIF glasses to be determined. Moreover, establishing a direct relationship between photonic properties and structural porosity in Zn-based ZIF glasses remains challenging. Here we demonstrate striking broadband blue-light emission from ZIF-4 glass annealed under optimized conditions. A pronounced red shift is observed when increasing the annealing temperature above the glass transition temperature. By correlating the evolution of photoluminescence with structural porosity, we reveal the interplay between the photonic and gas sorption properties of ZIF glasses. These findings provide new insights into the structure-property relationships of ZIF glasses and offer a pathway toward the rational design of multifunctional MOF glasses.

Geometry-Decoupled Deep Unfolding for Gridless Super-Resolution TomoSAR Under Nonuniform Baselines

Super-resolution SAR tomography (TomoSAR) is performed on a discretized elevation grid, leading to off-grid bias and spectral leakage. Classical Toeplitz-Vandermonde gridless formulations avoid elevation discretization but rely on uniform sampling, whereas covariance- or subspace-based estimation is difficult in single-look repeat-pass TomoSAR. We propose DUSG-Tomo-Net, a geometry-decoupled deep unfolding framework for gridless inversion under nonuniform baselines. In DUSG-Tomo-Net, pairwise products of a single observation vector are related to a latent Toeplitz-compatible virtual-lag sequence through an analytical geometry operator and modeled as noisy covariance surrogates containing multi-scatterer cross terms, measurement noise, and lag-interpolation errors. Each unfolded layer combines learned lag-domain regularization, closed-form geometry-dependent data consistency, and finite-step Dykstra projection toward the set of Hermitian Toeplitz positive semidefinite matrices. Root-MUSIC then retrieves scatterer elevations in the continuous domain without an elevation dictionary. Because the trainable modules operate only on the common virtual-lag representation, the learned parameterization can be reused across representationally compatible acquisition geometries by recomputing the geometry operator. At 6 dB, simulations under nonuniform baselines yield a single-scatterer RMSE of 0.703 m and an effective detection rate of approximately 0.90 for two scatterers at the Rayleigh limit, while demonstrating reliable sub-Rayleigh separation. A model trained with 20 acquisitions remains applicable to perturbed configurations containing 8-28 acquisitions without retraining. Experiments on a 16-image CH-1 stack show that DUSG-Tomo-Net produces coherent urban elevation maps and more continuous double-scatterer structures than the gridless baseline method TADCG.

Figures as Programs: Recursive Generation of Editable Scientific Figures

Scientific methodology figures are essential for communicating complex methods clearly, yet creating them remains labor-intensive and typically requires multiple rounds of refinement. Recent image-generation models can synthesize visually appealing raster figures, but producing a human-satisfactory result in a single generation step remains difficult. Moreover, precise edits to raster figures are challenging for both humans and models. We formulate scientific figure generation as recursive SVG program construction and propose \textsc{FigTree}, a \textit{multi-agent} system that automatically transforms a scientific paper into a structured vector figure. \textsc{FigTree} grounds figure content in the source paper, decomposes a figure into a hierarchy of local regions, generates each region as a short SVG program, and assembles the resulting fragments. A render-critic refinement loop jointly inspects the rendered figure and its underlying program, enabling visual defects to be traced to specific statements and accurately repaired. We conduct extensive evaluations of \textsc{FigTree} on figure quality and editability, showing that \textsc{FigTree} produces high-quality figures, while also enabling more effective editing than existing raster-based methods.

JFTA-Bench: Evaluate LLM's Ability of Tracking and Analyzing Malfunctions Using Fault Trees

In the maintenance of complex systems, fault trees are used to locate problems and provide targeted solutions. To enable fault trees stored as images to be directly processed by large language models, which can assist in tracking and analyzing malfunctions, we propose a novel textual representation of fault trees. Building on it, we construct a benchmark for multi-turn dialogue systems that emphasizes robust interaction in complex environments, evaluating a model's ability to assist in malfunction localization, which contains $3130$ entries and $40.75$ turns per entry on average. We train an end-to-end model to generate vague information to reflect user behavior and introduce long-range rollback and recovery procedures to simulate user error scenarios, enabling assessment of a model's integrated capabilities in task tracking and error recovery, and Gemini 2.5 pro archives the best performance.

Agents in the Large: Perception-Centered Architecture for Persistent Agents

Cognitive language agents have achieved substantial progress by equipping language models with memory, tools, and decision-making procedures, enabling agents to reason and act in interactive environments. Existing frameworks largely cast these agents as systems for solving user-specified, bounded tasks. An increasingly important goal is for language agents to provide persistent assistance in long-lived settings where user needs, context, and service procedures persist and change, and to remain useful across the broad range of tasks that arise over time. Yet we still lack a framework to characterize persistent AI agents, organize existing work, and guide future development. To this end, we propose a Perception-Centered Architecture for Persistent Agents (Pera). Pera describes a persistent agent organized around perception and control components that continually perceive service-relevant signals from episodic task executions, internal context, and changes in the surrounding environment, and use these signals to construct lifecycle tasks. These tasks drive the ongoing operation and adaptation of the agent's service procedures. We use Pera to retrospectively organize recent work, examine a detailed case study, and offer forward-looking insights for building more capable persistent agents. Just as software engineering moved from programming in the small to programming in the large, Pera frames the evolution of language agents as an analogous architectural transition toward long-lived, adaptive intelligence systems.

PeopleSearchBench: Evaluating AI-Powered People Search Platforms with Criteria-Grounded Verification

AI-powered people search platforms are increasingly deployed for recruiting, sales prospecting, and professional networking, yet no standardized benchmark exists for their rigorous evaluation. We present PeopleSearchBench, an open-source benchmark comprising 119 multilingual queries across four scenarios: corporate recruiting, B2B sales prospecting, expert search, and influencer discovery. A central contribution is Criteria-Grounded Verification, an evaluation methodology that decomposes each query into explicit, independently checkable criteria and verifies each returned individual via live web search, producing factual relevance judgments rather than subjective LLM-as-judge scores (Cohen's kappa = 0.84 with human annotators). We evaluate four architecturally diverse platforms along three complementary dimensions---Relevance Precision, Effective Coverage, and Information Utility---and find that multi-source search agents significantly outperform single-domain systems, particularly in influencer discovery where the performance gap is largest. Platform rankings are robust across ablations on scoring thresholds, dimension weights, and judge models. All code, queries, and evaluation prompts are publicly available.

Prefix-Adaptive Block Diffusion for Efficient Document Recognition

Block Diffusion Models (BDMs) support parallel generation, flexible-length output, and KV caching, making them promising for efficient document parsing. However, existing BDMs bind denoising and cache commitment to fixed block boundaries: parallelism shrinks during intra-block denoising, while generated tokens cannot be cached until the whole block is completed. Moreover, intra-block bidirectional denoising conflicts with inter-block autoregression, creating inconsistent information flow that can challenge structure-sensitive recognition. We propose the Prefix-Adaptive Block Diffusion Model (PA-BDM), which replaces intra-block bidirectional denoising with causal denoising from prefix to suffix and treats the block size as a maximum candidate range rather than a fixed commitment unit. PA-BDM uses Confidence-gated Structural Loss (CSL) to build low-entropy prefixes before extending training to longer continuations. During inference, Progressive Prefix Commitment (PPC) then dynamically commits the longest reliable prefix into the KV cache and resets the next candidate range from the updated prefix, restoring a large parallel decoding space at each step. Experiments show that the 3B PA-BDM achieves higher recognition scores on several benchmarks and improves inference throughput by 71.6\% over the 2.5B MinerU-Diffusion.

State-Conditioned Visual Evidence Retrieval for Fine-Grained Perception in Document Vision-Language Models

Compared with typical vision-language tasks, document parsing places stronger demands on fine-grained visual perception. Existing vision-language model (VLM)-based parsing approaches rely on globally compressed visual tokens, where fine-grained details are entangled within a single representation and repeatedly accessed during decoding. However, we observe that the visual evidence for each prediction is typically localized and conditioned on the current decoding state, whereas such representations must be accessed in full at every decoding step, resulting in inefficient computation. To address this mismatch, we formulate perception as state-conditioned visual evidence retrieval (SCVER) during autoregressive decoding. The model operates on a compact global representation for coarse structure and retrieves a small set of relevant high-resolution regions conditioned on the current token state. This coarse-to-fine design enables on-demand access to fine-grained visual cues, relieving globally shared representations from encoding all fine-grained details. We further find that learning such state-conditioned retrieval in VLMs is challenging and unstable. To stabilize this process, we introduce a Spatially-Guided Learning Objective (SGLO) to guide the retrieval process. Experiments on document parsing benchmarks show that SCVER improves robustness under reduced input resolution and achieves a better accuracy-efficiency trade-off, demonstrating the effectiveness of on-demand visual evidence retrieval for fine-grained perception.

Assessing Socio-Cyber Vulnerability Using Survey and Social Media Data

The rapid growth of social media participation has increased exposure to socially engineered cyber threats (e.g., phishing, romance fraud, and tech-support scams), yet prevailing assessment tools remain fragmented: the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) is primarily technical and largely omits human susceptibility, while the Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) is community-oriented and lacks cyber-specific modeling. To address this gap, we propose the Social Cyber Vulnerability Index (SCVI), an interpretable, uncertainty-aware metric combining two components: (i) an Individual Vulnerability Index (IVI), capturing awareness, behavior, psychological factors, and prior victimization, and (ii) an Attack Severity Index (ASI), capturing attack frequency, consequences, and sophistication. We validate SCVI across heterogeneous modalities: a nationally scoped survey (iPoll; 4,596 U.S. adults) and social-media narratives (450 Reddit r/scams reports, 2016-2024), demonstrating computation from both structured questionnaires and CI-driven feature extraction from text. Sensitivity analysis and 10,000-iteration Monte Carlo simulations show stable rankings under plausible weight variability and reveal context-dependent drivers. SCVI captures distinct socio-technical signals (Spearman correlation with CVSS $ρ= 0.33$; with SVI $ρ\approx -0.01$) and surfaces demographic and regional disparities. SCVI also provides substantially stronger separation between victim and non-victim groups than CVSS and SVI, supporting identification of high-risk populations and prioritization of interventions against emerging AI-enabled scams.

Goodput Maximization for Large Language Model Edge Inference: A Two-Phase Maskable PPO Approach

This paper presents a novel two-phase maskable proximal policy optimization (TP-MPPO) algorithm, which maximizes the system goodput counting request throughput with strict service level objective (SLO) compliance for large language model (LLM) inference services in wireless edge networks. In the first phase of TP-MPPO, we optimize the task offloading decisions by MPPO with action masking mechanism, effectively avoiding exploring invalid actions and reducing the action space. In the second phase, closed-form solutions are derived for uplink bandwidth allocation; a greedy algorithm is designed for downlink bandwidth allocation to provide immediate rewards for the MPPO in the next round. The two stages alternate till convergence. Simulation results demonstrate that TP-MPPO can improve the system reward by 33.3%--87.5% compared to its benchmarks and achieve the highest goodput.

Continuous Orthogonal Mode Decomposition: Haptic Signal Prediction in Tactile Internet

The Tactile Internet demands sub-millisecond latency and ultra-high reliability, as even slight latency or packet loss can destabilize haptic control. To address this, we propose the Mode-Domain Architecture (MDA), a bilateral predictive neural network architecture designed to restore missing signals on both the human and robot sides. Unlike conventional models that implicitly extract features from raw data, MDA employs a novel Continuous-Orthogonal Mode Decomposition framework. By integrating an orthogonality constraint, we overcome the pervasive issue of ``mode overlapping" found in state-of-the-art decomposition methods. Experimental results demonstrate that this structured feature extraction achieves high prediction accuracies of 98.6% (human) and 97.3% (robot). Furthermore, the model achieves ultra-low inference latency of 0.065 ms, significantly outperforming existing benchmarks and meeting the stringent real-time requirements of haptic teleoperation.

Displacement-field-driven reconstruction of low energy transport in few-layer PtSe2

In layered semiconductors, a perpendicular displacement field generates an interlayer potential difference that competes with interlayer hybridization, modifying both the band gap and the finite-density electronic states that carry current. Resolving this interplay requires a material lying close to the semiconductor-to-semimetal transition, where moderate electric fields can strongly reshape the low-energy electronic structure. Here, we investigate displacement-field-driven transport in dual-gated semiconducting PtSe2, whose pronounced thickness-dependent electronic structure provides access to this low-band-gap regime. Unlike thinner layers, the displacement-field response is strong in six-layer PtSe2, which lies at the verge of the semiconductor-to-semimetal crossover with only a small residual transport gap. Even weak displacement fields rapidly suppress this residual gap near charge neutrality, driving the system toward a band-overlap regime. At the same time, the conductivity decreases in the heavily hole-doped regime, demonstrating that the displacement field modifies not only the gap but also the conducting valence-band states. Fixed-relaxation-time Wannier transport calculations reproduce both responses, showing that they originate from field-induced band overlap together with reconstruction of the valence-band dispersion. These results establish finite-density transport as a sensitive probe of displacement-field-driven electronic structure reconstruction and extend electrical control beyond conventional band-gap engineering.

DeepSAGE: Stage-Aware Reinforcement Learning for Structured CBT Counseling Dialogue

Large Language Model (LLM)-based counseling agents can generate fluent and supportive responses, but they often lack the structured, goal-directed progression required to conduct a coherent therapeutic session. We present DeepSAGE (Strategic AI Guidance Engine), a hybrid LLM--Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) framework for stage-aware counseling dialogue grounded in the first session of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). DeepSAGE represents the session as eleven stages with explicit therapeutic objectives, with an external controller determines stage completion and the DRL model selects therapeutic intentions that guide LLM response generation. We evaluate DeepSAGE against six retrieval-, prompting-, stage-, and policy-based alternatives. DeepSAGE elicits higher simulated client engagement and openness and achieves the strongest balance of stage-goal completion and dialogue efficiency among stage-structured systems. Domain expert review further indicates that the generated conversations exhibit broadly plausible emotional trajectories and recognizable CBT processes. Because the evaluation relies primarily on simulated clients and model-based metrics, these findings demonstrate comparative dialogue-control improvements rather than clinical effectiveness. These results suggest that combining stage-structured dialogue with learned strategy selection is a promising approach for AI counseling, though clinical effectiveness, safety, and real-world utility require further human evaluation.

Real Interference Alignment for Active IRS-Aided Systems: A Rate-Profile Learning-Based Approach

With additional spatial degrees of freedom provided by the active intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), interference alignment (IA) can be achieved at low cost. In this letter, we propose a real IA scheme for an active IRS-aided system. The proposed scheme only requires the IRS to know the instantaneous channel coefficients under the assumption of blocked direct links. To maximize the achievable sum rate subject to individual minimum rate requirements and transmission power constraints, we propose a rate-profile learning-based algorithm. The algorithm uses offline-trained achievable rate profiles to decouple the original problem into multiple feasibility subproblems, which are then solved by generalized eigenvalue decomposition. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional weighted minimum mean square error algorithm, while requiring significantly less program execution time.

Dual-Cache Latent Space Communication between Heterogeneous Language Models

Multi-agent LLM systems split work across models, so answering often requires knowledge that sits in another agent's context: a Sharer has encoded information that a Receiver needs to complete its task. They usually communicate by exchanging text, which puts autoregressive decoding on the critical path and reduces the exchange to a discrete message written without sight of the receiver's state. Recent latent protocols instead translate the sharer's key-value (KV) cache into the receiver's: C2C supports heterogeneous models but requires both to read the same input, while LCF-X removes this shared-context requirement through position-free sharer-cache pooling. Three restrictions remain: LCF-X compresses the sharer alone, supplies the same layer-local summary to every receiver position with no joint cross-layer memory to retrieve from, and assumes matched layer count and KV geometry. We introduce XKV, which lifts all three: learned-query attention pools both caches; self-attention over receiver-aligned layer tokens, with a learned layer map reconciling different depths, mixes the pooled summaries into a compact joint memory; and a shared position decoder lets every raw receiver cache position retrieve its own per-head-gated residual in the receiver's native KV geometry. Both models stay frozen and may differ in family, depth, KV-head count, head dimension, and tokenizer; only the translator is trained. Across 45 dataset-model-pair settings (six heterogeneous and three same-model ordered pairings, five datasets), XKV attains the highest macro score and best average rank, improving on LCF-X on every dataset (by 4.6 exact-match and 4.2 F1 points on ROPES) and surpassing text communication on four of the five, while training 76% fewer parameters and translating a cache pair 10.3x faster (5.8 vs. 59.9 ms); end to end, XKV is 26% faster than LCF-X and 6.8x faster than text communication.

ReX-Shot: Single-Image Rephotography via Geometry- and Camera-Grounded Generation

Single-image rephotography aims to synthesize new shots of a scene from a single reference image with specified viewpoints, focal lengths, and photographic effects, which are intrinsically coupled in imaging. Existing methods typically treat these factors separately and struggle under joint control: novel-view synthesis may introduce geometric distortions under focal-length changes, while super-resolution and instruction-guided editing remain confined to 2D and cannot reliably extend detail restoration or appearance control to novel viewpoints. We attribute these limitations to imperfect single-image 3D reconstruction and the sampling limit of continuous focal-length enlargement. To reduce projection bias from geometric errors, we use implicitly transformed foundation-model features for robust target-view guidance. We further formulate focal-length enlargement as a geometry-guided super-resolution problem and exploit generative detail priors to recover details lost during sparse 3D resampling. Built on this 3D-aware generative backbone, we lift photographic-effect control from 2D filtering to 3D-aware appearance editing, preserving content consistency across viewpoints and focal lengths. These components form ReX-Shot, a geometry- and camera-grounded generative framework for single-image rephotography. To our knowledge, ReX-Shot is the first unified framework to jointly control viewpoint, focal length, and parameterized photographic effects from a single image. Experiments show that ReX-Shot outperforms representative baselines across all three controls while enabling near-real-time interactive rephotography.

SocialCoach: Personalized Social Skill Learning with Agentic Tutoring and Practice

Social skills such as negotiation and leadership are crucial for personal and professional success in today's interconnected world. However, scalable and effective training remains a significant challenge due to the scarcity of expert coaching. In this work, we introduce SocialCoach, an LLM-powered agentic tutoring system for personalized social skill learning. SocialCoach constructs a theory-to-practice corpus of traceable strategies, cases, and practice scenarios, and uses this corpus for both scheduling and reflective tutoring. We formulate social practice personalization as cold-start, retrieval-constrained sequential practice scheduling. Given a learner profile, simulated proficiency state, and observed practice history, a policy produces structured prescriptions that are realized through corpus retrieval. To enhance scheduling effectiveness, we optimize complete pathways with trajectory-level GRPO using rubric-judge based pairwise preferences. Additionally, we instantiate the scheduling approach in a deployed platform with goal-driven practice and knowledge-grounded reflective tutoring. Finally, in the synthetic cold-start setting, experiment results show that SocialCoach achieves higher pathway-quality ratings than baselines in scheduling and tutoring quality. We also conduct human studies to demonstrate its usefulness for real-world social skill learning.

Intern-S2-Mobius: Foundation Model with Decoupled Knowledge and Reasoning

We introduce Mobius-v0, an architecture that comprises a globally shared Memory (FFN) that stores knowledge vectors and multiple Reasoners (Self-Attn) that iteratively achieve compositional reasoning. Using hidden states as cache and carrier, reasoners repeatedly query memory for required knowledge-vectors, while the knowledge is transmitted back to reasoning operators. Through this knowledge-reasoning-separation architecture, Mobius achieves better knowledge compression and reasoning efficiency. Built upon Mobius-v0 architecture: 1) Our 7B model trained-from-scratch achieves similar downstream score as a 7B Transformer baseline with 62.6% of baseline's training data. 2) Our Intern-S2-Mobius, continually-pretrained from Qwen3.5-35B, achieves similar downstream score while delivering nearly 4x end-to-end inference speedup.
