Quantization analysis of Moser-Trudinger equations in the Poincaré disk and applications

In this paper, we first establish the quantitative properties for positive solutions to the Moser-Trudinger equation in the two-dimensional Poincaré disk $\mathbb{B}^2$: \begin{equation*}\label{mt1} \left\{ \begin{aligned} &-Δ_{\mathbb{B}^2}u=λue^{u^2},\ x\in\mathbb{B}^2, &u\to0,\ \text{when}\ ρ(x)\to\infty, &\|\nabla_{\mathbb{B}^2} u\|_{L^2(\mathbb{B}^2)}^2\leq M_0, \end{aligned} \right. \end{equation*} where $0<λ<\frac{1}{4}=\inf\limits_{u\in W^{1,2}(\mathbb{B}^2)\backslash\{0\}}\frac{\|\nabla_{\mathbb{B}^2}u\|_{L^2(\mathbb{B}^2)}^2}{\|u\|_{L^2(\mathbb{B}^2)}^2}$, $ρ(x)$ denotes the geodesic distance between $x$ and the origin and $M_0$ is a fixed large positive constant (see Theorem \ref{thm1}). Furthermore, by carefully analyzing the asymptotic expansion of the Dirichlet energy \(\|\nabla_{\mathbb{B}^2} u\|_{L^2(\mathbb{B}^2)}^2\) as \(λ\to 0\), and establishing that \[ \lim_{\substack{λ\to 1/4}} \int_{\mathbb{B}^2} |\nabla_{\mathbb{B}^2} u_λ|^2 \, dV_{\mathbb{B}^2} = +\infty \] for~the ~nonzero~least energy solution, we are able to prove the existence of a critical point for the Moser-Trudinger functional \(F(u) = \int_{\mathbb{B}^2} (e^{u^2} - 1) \, dV_{\mathbb{B}^2}\) under the constraint \(\int_{\mathbb{B}^2} |\nabla_{\mathbb{B}^2} u|^2 \, dV_{\mathbb{B}^2} = Λ\) for \(Λ\in (4π, +\infty)\), up to some Möbius transformation. This result is substantially different from the non-existence of critical points for the Moser-Trudinger functional in the Euclidean disk. Finally, by applying a local Pohozaev identity around the origin and exploiting the uniqueness of solutions to the Cauchy initial value problem for ODEs, we prove that the Moser-Trudinger equation has a unique positive solution up to some Möbius transformation when $λ$ is close to $0$.

Critical GJMS Equations on $\mathbb{H}^n \times \mathbb{S}^m$

Let $M=\mathbb{H}^n\times\mathbb{S}^m$, where $n\geq 2$, $m\geq 1$, and $N=n+m$. Let $P_k$ be the order-$2k$ GJMS operator, with $1\leq k 0$. We study$$P_kU-λU=|U|^{q-2}U,\qquad q=\frac{2N}{N-2k},\qquad 0<λ\leqΛ_0,$$and attainment of the associated critical quotient $S_{λ,k}(M)$. Let $S_{N,k}$ be the Euclidean best Sobolev constant. For $0<λ<Λ_0$, the inequality $S_{λ,k}(M) Λ_{\mathrm{loc}}$, where $Λ_{\mathrm{loc}}$ is explicit. If $N\geq2k+2$ and $S_{Λ_0,k}(M)<S_{N,k}$, attainment also holds at $λ=Λ_0$ in the threshold form completion. At the threshold, $L^2$-coercivity fails precisely on the constant spherical eigenspace. We combine cocompactness for its hyperbolic coefficient with a profile decomposition relative to the critical transformations preserving $\mathcal{A}=\mathbb{R}^{n-1}\times{0}$. Under the threshold hypotheses above, the strict Euclidean inequality excludes concentration escaping $\mathcal{A}$ from normalized minimizing sequences. If $r_j^{(J)}$ denotes the remainder after the first $J$ extracted profiles, then$$\lim_{J\to\infty}\limsup_{j\to\infty}|r_j^{(J)}|_{L^q(\mathbb{R}^N)}=0,$$which yields compactness modulo the axis-preserving transformations.

Circle-like concentrated solutions for two-component Bose-Einstein condensates

We investigate the normalized solutions of the following two-component Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) system \begin{equation}\left\{ \begin{split} -Δu + (λ+P(x))u &= αu^3 +βuv^2, && \text{in } \mathbb{R}^2,\\-Δv + (λ+Q(x))v &= γv^3 +βu^2 v, && \text{in } \mathbb{R}^2, \end{split} \right.\end{equation} with $L^2$-constraint $$\int_{\mathbb{R}^2}(u^2+v^2)\,dx = 1.$$ For any $α>0$, $γ> 0$ and $\ β\in (-\sqrt{αγ},0)\cup(0,\min \{α,γ\})\cup \left(\max \{α,γ\} , + \infty\right)$, we establish the existence of synchronized solutions concentrating on high-dimensional subsets of $\mathbb{R}^2$ by employing a finite-dimensional reduction method combined with some local Pohozaev identities. More precisely, we construct vector radial solutions that concentrate on circles when $ \frac{α+ γ- 2β}{αγ- β^2}$ tends to zero. Our results fill the blank in the system for high-dimensional concentrated normalized solutions.

Normalized Solutions for nonlinear Schrödinger-Poisson equations involving nearly mass-critical exponents

We study the Schrödinger-Poisson-Slater equation \begin{equation*}\left\{\begin{array}{lll} -Δu + λu + \big(|x|^{-1} \ast |u|^{2}\big)u = V(x) u^{ p_{\varepsilon}-1 }, \, \text{ in } \mathbb{R}^{3},\\[2mm] \int_{\mathbb{R}^3}u^2 \,dx= a,\,\, u > 0,\,\, u \in H^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{3}), \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $λ$ is a Lagrange multiplier, $V(x)$ is a real-valued potential, $a\in \mathbb{R}_{+}$ is a constant, $ p_{\varepsilon} = \frac{10}{3} \pm \varepsilon$ and $\varepsilon>0$ is a small parameter. In this paper, we prove that it is the positive critical value of the potential $V$ that affects the existence of single-peak solutions for this problem. Furthermore, we prove the local uniqueness of the solutions we construct.

A new type of bubble solutions for a critical fractional Schrödinger equation

We consider the following critical fractional Schrödinger equation \begin{equation*} (-Δ)^s u+V(|y'|,y'')u = u^{2_s^*-1},\quad u>0,\quad y =(y',y'') \in \mathbb{R}^3\times\mathbb{R}^{N-3}, \end{equation*} where $N\geq 3,s\in(0,1)$, $2_s^*=\frac{2N}{N-2s}$ is the fractional critical Sobolev exponent and $V(|y'|,y'')$ is a bounded non-negative function in $\mathbb{R}^3\times\mathbb{R}^{N-3}$. If $r^{2s}V(r,y'')$ has a stable critical point $(r_0,y_0'')$ with $r_0>0$ and $V(r_0,y_0'')>0$, by using a finite-dimensional reduction method and various local Pohozaev identities, we prove that the problem above has a new type of infinitely many solutions which concentrate at points lying on the top and the bottom of a cylinder. And the concentration points of the bubble solutions include saddle points of the function $r^{2s}V(r,y'')$. We have to overcome some difficulties caused by the non-localness of the fractional Laplacian.

Existence and local uniqueness of multi-peak solutions for the Chern-Simons-Schrödinger system

In the present paper, we consider the Chern-Simons-Schrödinger system \begin{equation} \left\{ \begin{aligned} &-\varepsilon^{2}Δu+V(x)u+(A_{0}+A_{1}^{2}+A_{2}^{2})u=|u|^{p-2}u,\,\,\,\,x\in \mathbb{R}^2,\\ &\partial_1 A_0 = A_2 u^2,\ \partial_{2}A_{0}=-A_{1}u^{2},\\ &\partial_{1}A_{2}-\partial_{2}A_{1}=-\frac{1}{2}|u|^{2},\ \partial_{1}A_{1}+\partial_{2}A_{2}=0,\\ \end{aligned} \right. \end{equation} where $p>2,$ $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter and $V:\mathbb{R}^{2}\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ is a bounded continuous function. Under some mild assumptions on $V(x)$, we show the existence and local uniqueness of positive multi-peak solutions. Our methods mainly use the finite dimensional reduction method, various local Pohozaev identities, blow-up analysis and the maximum principle. Because of the nonlocal terms involved by $A_{0},A_{1}$ and $A_{2},$ we have to obtain a series of new and technical estimates.

The existence of multi-peak positive solutions for nonlinear Kirchhoff equations

In this work, we study the following Kirchhoff equation $$\begin{cases}-\left(\varepsilon^2 a+\varepsilon b\int_{\mathbb R^3}|\nabla u|^2\right)Δu +u =Q(x)u^{q-1},\quad u>0,\quad x\in {\mathbb{R}^{3}},\\u\to 0,\quad \text{as}\ |x|\to +\infty,\end{cases}$$ where $a,b>0$ are constants, $2 0$ is a parameter. Under some suitable assumptions on the function $Q(x)$, we obtain that the equation above has positive multi-peak solutions concentrating at a critical point of $Q(x)$ for $\varepsilon>0$ sufficiently small, by using the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction method. We extend the result in (Discrete Contin. Dynam. Systems 6(2000), 39--50) to the nonlinear Kirchhoff equation.
