Parallel Thinking, Sequential Answering: Bridging NAR and AR for Efficient Reasoning

We study reasoning tasks through a framework that integrates auto-regressive (AR) and non-autoregressive (NAR) language models. AR models, which generate text sequentially, excel at producing coherent outputs but often suffer from slow inference, particularly in reasoning-intensive domains such as mathematics and code, where lengthy chains of thought are required. In contrast, NAR models, such as discrete diffusion models, allow parallel generation and offer substantial speedups, though typically at the cost of reduced output quality. To address these limitations, we introduce a new paradigm in which an NAR model efficiently produces intermediate reasoning traces, which subsequently guide an AR model to deliver precise final answers. Experiments demonstrate that our approach yields significant 26% improvements over strong baselines while substantially reducing inference cost.

InquireMobile: Teaching VLM-based Mobile Agent to Request Human Assistance via Reinforcement Fine-Tuning

Recent advances in Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have enabled mobile agents to perceive and interact with real-world mobile environments based on human instructions. However, the current fully autonomous paradigm poses potential safety risks when model understanding or reasoning capabilities are insufficient. To address this challenge, we first introduce \textbf{InquireBench}, a comprehensive benchmark specifically designed to evaluate mobile agents' capabilities in safe interaction and proactive inquiry with users, encompassing 5 categories and 22 sub-categories, where most existing VLM-based agents demonstrate near-zero performance. In this paper, we aim to develop an interactive system that actively seeks human confirmation at critical decision points. To achieve this, we propose \textbf{InquireMobile}, a novel model inspired by reinforcement learning, featuring a two-stage training strategy and an interactive pre-action reasoning mechanism. Finally, our model achieves an 46.8% improvement in inquiry success rate and the best overall success rate among existing baselines on InquireBench. We will open-source all datasets, models, and evaluation codes to facilitate development in both academia and industry.

Mobile-R1: Towards Interactive Capability for VLM-Based Mobile Agent via Systematic Training

Vision-language model-based mobile agents have gained the ability to understand complex instructions and mobile screenshots, benefiting from reinforcement learning paradigms like Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). However, existing approaches centers on offline training or local action-level rewards often trap agents in local optima, hindering effective exploration and error correction with the environment. Crucially, we find that directly applying task-level rewards often leads to convergence difficulties due to the sparse nature of GUI interactions. To address these challenges, we present \textbf{Mobile-R1}, a systematic training recipe that bridges atomic action execution and strategic task completion. We propose a hierarchical curriculum consisting of three stages: (1) format alignment for reasoning structure, (2) on-policy exploration with verifiable action feedback to ground basic execution, and (3) multi-turn task-level training with realistic environment to unlock exploration and self-correction. This hierarchical strategy effectively bootstraps the agent, significantly enhancing its capability for exploration and self-correction (the ``Eureka'' moments). Furthermore, addressing the critical scarcity of diverse GUI data in non-English ecosystems, we contribute a comprehensive Chinese mobile dataset covering 28 applications with 24,521 high-quality manual annotations, and establish a rigorous benchmark with 500 trajectories. We will open source all resources, including the dataset, benchmark, model weight, and codes: https://mobile-r1.github.io/Mobile-R1/.

Graph-to-Vision: Multi-graph Understanding and Reasoning using Vision-Language Models

Recent advances in Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have shown promising capabilities in interpreting visualized graph data, offering a new perspective for graph-structured reasoning beyond traditional Graph Neural Networks (GNNs). However, existing studies focus primarily on single-graph reasoning, leaving the critical challenge of multi-graph joint reasoning underexplored. In this work, we introduce the first comprehensive benchmark designed to evaluate and enhance the multi-graph reasoning abilities of VLMs. Our benchmark covers four common graph types-knowledge graphs, flowcharts, mind maps, and route maps-and supports both homogeneous and heterogeneous graph groupings with tasks of increasing complexity. We evaluate several state-of-the-art VLMs under a multi-dimensional scoring framework that assesses graph parsing, reasoning consistency, and instruction-following accuracy. Additionally, we fine-tune multiple open-source models and observe consistent improvements, confirming the effectiveness of our dataset. This work provides a principled step toward advancing multi-graph understanding and reveals new opportunities for cross-modal graph intelligence.

Photonic real-time signal processing

The simultaneous progress of integrated optical frequency comb (OFC) and radio frequency (RF) photonic signal processing technique have promoted the rapid development of real-time signal processing. Integrated optical frequency comb offer multiple wavelengths as a powerful source for RF photonic signal transversal filter. Here, we review development of real-time signal processing system consisting of integrated OFC and RF photonic signal transversal filter in chronological order, and focus on the applications of this system such as differentiator, integrator, Hilbert transformer, and image processor. We also discuss and present our outlook on more parallel functions and further integration of real-time signal processing system.

When Graph Data Meets Multimodal: A New Paradigm for Graph Understanding and Reasoning

Graph data is ubiquitous in the physical world, and it has always been a challenge to efficiently model graph structures using a unified paradigm for the understanding and reasoning on various graphs. Moreover, in the era of large language models, integrating complex graph information into text sequences has become exceptionally difficult, which hinders the ability to interact with graph data through natural language instructions. The paper presents a new paradigm for understanding and reasoning about graph data by integrating image encoding and multimodal technologies. This approach enables the comprehension of graph data through an instruction-response format, utilizing GPT-4V's advanced capabilities. The study evaluates this paradigm on various graph types, highlighting the model's strengths and weaknesses, particularly in Chinese OCR performance and complex reasoning tasks. The findings suggest new direction for enhancing graph data processing and natural language interaction.
