Modified induction and a torsion-theoretic equivalence for relative BiHom-Hopf modules

We develop an induction theory for relative BiHom-Hopf modules, the special BiHom-Doi--Hopf case associated with the datum $(H,A,H)$ in which the final copy of $H$ carries its regular right $H$-module coalgebra structure. Let $H$ be a monoidal BiHom-Hopf algebra, let $A$ be a right $H$-BiHom-comodule algebra, and let $B=A^{\operatorname{co}H}$. We show that the balanced tensor product defines an induction functor $-\otimes_BA$ left adjoint to the coinvariant functor. If $H$ has a fixed Haar integral, untwisting yields a Haar identity for the BiHom setting and a canonical projection onto coinvariants. These constructions define a hereditary torsion theory with radical $\kappa$ and a torsion-free reflector $Q(M)=M/\kappa(M)$. The modified induction functor $Q(-\otimes_BA)$ then gives an equivalence between right $B$-BiHom-modules and torsion-free relative BiHom-Hopf modules generated by their coinvariants. Equal structure maps recover the corresponding Hom result, while identity structure maps recover the classical relative Hopf-module setting.

Unveiling the Surprising Efficacy of Navigation Understanding in End-to-End Autonomous Driving

Global navigation information and local scene understanding are two crucial components of autonomous driving systems. However, our experimental results indicate that many end-to-end autonomous driving systems tend to over-rely on local scene understanding while failing to utilize global navigation information. These systems exhibit weak correlation between their planning capabilities and navigation input, and struggle to perform navigation-following in complex scenarios. To overcome this limitation, we propose the Sequential Navigation Guidance (SNG) framework, an efficient representation of global navigation information based on real-world navigation patterns. The SNG encompasses both navigation paths for constraining long-term trajectories and turn-by-turn (TBT) information for real-time decision-making logic. We constructed the SNG-QA dataset, a visual question answering (VQA) dataset based on SNG that aligns global and local planning. Additionally, we introduce an efficient model SNG-VLA that fuses local planning with global planning. The SNG-VLA achieves state-of-the-art performance through precise navigation information modeling without requiring auxiliary loss functions from perception tasks. Project page: SNG-VLA

LiveVLM: Efficient Online Video Understanding via Streaming-Oriented KV Cache and Retrieval

Recent developments in Video Large Language Models (Video LLMs) have enabled models to process hour-long videos and exhibit exceptional performance. Nonetheless, the Key-Value (KV) cache expands linearly over time, leading to substantial memory overhead and response delay--critical challenges in various real-world online applications, such as Deepseek services, autonomous driving and robotics. To mitigate these issues, we propose $\textbf{LiveVLM}$, a training-free and query-agnostic framework specifically designed for online video understanding and real-time interaction. LiveVLM employs a Vision Sink Bucketing (VSB) mechanism to process video streams in real time, retain long-term video details and eliminate redundant KVs. This mechanism utilizes vision-to-vision attention scores as the metric and seeks to maximize the coverage of contextual information during compression. Noting that KV cache compressed in a query-agnostic manner inevitably retains irrelevant information for specific queries, LiveVLM incorporates a Position-agnostic KV Retrieval (PaR) mechanism to reduce interference from redundant context. The keypoint of PaR lies in decoupling positional embeddings to enhance the similarity between key tensors, thereby supporting efficient retrieval at the granularity of pages. Extensive experiments demonstrate that LiveVLM enables the foundation LLaVA-OneVision model to achieve state-of-the-art accuracy among both training-free query-agnostic methods and training-based online models.

Dual-AEB: Synergizing Rule-Based and Multimodal Large Language Models for Effective Emergency Braking

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) systems are a crucial component in ensuring the safety of passengers in autonomous vehicles. Conventional AEB systems primarily rely on closed-set perception modules to recognize traffic conditions and assess collision risks. To enhance the adaptability of AEB systems in open scenarios, we propose Dual-AEB, a system combines an advanced multimodal large language model (MLLM) for comprehensive scene understanding and a conventional rule-based rapid AEB to ensure quick response times. To the best of our knowledge, Dual-AEB is the first method to incorporate MLLMs within AEB systems. Through extensive experimentation, we have validated the effectiveness of our method. The source code will be available at https://github.com/ChipsICU/Dual-AEB.

Inf-MLLM: Efficient Streaming Inference of Multimodal Large Language Models on a Single GPU

Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) are distinguished by their multimodal comprehensive ability and widely used in many real-world applications including GPT-4o, autonomous driving and robotics. Despite their impressive performance, the multimodal inputs always incur long context. The inference under long context requires caching massive Key and Value states (KV cache) of previous tokens, which introduces high latency and excessive memory consumption. Due to this reason, it is challenging to deploy streaming inference of MLLMs on edge devices, which largely constrains the power and usage of MLLMs in real-world applications. In this paper, we introduce Inf-MLLM, an efficient inference framework for MLLMs, which enable streaming inference of MLLM on a single GPU with infinite context. Inf-MLLM is based on our key observation of the attention pattern in both LLMs and MLLMs called "attention saddles". Thanks to the newly discovered attention pattern, Inf-MLLM maintains a size-constrained KV cache by dynamically caching recent tokens and relevant tokens. Furthermore, Inf-MLLM proposes attention bias, a novel approach to enable MLLMs to capture long-term dependency. We show that Inf-MLLM enables multiple LLMs and MLLMs to achieve stable performance over 4M-token long texts and multi-round conversations with 1-hour-long videos on a single GPU. In addition, Inf-MLLM exhibits superior streaming reasoning quality than existing methods such as StreamingLLM and 2x speedup than H2O.
