Revisiting Wireless-Powered MEC: A Cooperative Energy Recycling Framework for Task-Energy Co-Design

Cooperative energy recycling (CER) offers a new way to boost energy utilization in wireless-powered multi-access edge computing (MEC) networks, yet its integration with computation-communication co-design remains underexplored. This paper proposes a CER-enabled MEC framework that maximizes the minimum computable data among users under energy causality, latency, and power constraints. The intractable problem is reformulated into a convex form through relaxation, maximum ratio combining, and variable substitution, and closed-form solutions are derived via Lagrangian duality and alternating optimization, offering analytical insights. Simulation results verify that the proposed CER mechanism markedly increases total computable data while maintaining equitable performance across heterogeneous users.

Electron Ptychography Images Hydrogen Atom Superlattices and 3D Inhomogeneities in Palladium Hydride Nanoparticles

When hydrogen atoms occupy interstitial sites in metal lattices, they form metal hydrides (MHx), whose structural and electronic properties can differ significantly from the host metals. Owing to the small size of hydrogen atom and its unique interactions with the host metal, MHx is of broad interest in both fundamental science and technological applications. Determining where the hydrogen is located within the MHx, and whether it orders on the partially occupied interstitial sites is crucial for predicting and understanding the resultant physical and electronic properties of the hydride. Directly imaging hydrogen within a host material remains a major challenge due to its weak interaction with X-rays and electrons in conventional imaging techniques. Here, we employ electron ptychography, a scanning transmission electron microscopy technique, to image the three-dimensional (3D) distribution of H atoms in Palladium hydrides (PdHx) nanocubes, one of the most studied and industrially relevant MHx materials. We observe an unexpected one-dimensional superlattice ordering of hydrogen within the PdHx nanocubes and 3D hydrogen clustering in localized regions within PdHx nanocubes, revealing spatial heterogeneity in metal hydride nanoparticles previously inaccessible by other methods.

Optimizing Information Propagation for Blockchain-empowered Mobile AIGC: A Graph Attention Network Approach

Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) is a rapidly evolving field that utilizes advanced AI algorithms to generate content. Through integration with mobile edge networks, mobile AIGC networks have gained significant attention, which can provide real-time customized and personalized AIGC services and products. Since blockchains can facilitate decentralized and transparent data management, AIGC products can be securely managed by blockchain to avoid tampering and plagiarization. However, the evolution of blockchain-empowered mobile AIGC is still in its nascent phase, grappling with challenges such as improving information propagation efficiency to enable blockchain-empowered mobile AIGC. In this paper, we design a Graph Attention Network (GAT)-based information propagation optimization framework for blockchain-empowered mobile AIGC. We first innovatively apply age of information as a data-freshness metric to measure information propagation efficiency in public blockchains. Considering that GATs possess the excellent ability to process graph-structured data, we utilize the GAT to obtain the optimal information propagation trajectory. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed scheme exhibits the most outstanding information propagation efficiency compared with traditional routing mechanisms.
