Hybrid Quantum-Classical Branch-and-Price for Intra-Day Electric Vehicle Charging Scheduling via Partition Coloring

The rapid deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) in public parking facilities and fleet operations raises challenging intra-day charging scheduling problems under tight charger capacity and limited dwell times. We model this problem as a variant of the Partition Coloring Problem (PCP), where each vehicle defines a partition, its candidate charging intervals are vertices, and temporal and resource conflicts are represented as edges in a conflict graph. On this basis, we design a branch-and-price algorithm in which the restricted master problem selects feasible combinations of intervals, and the pricing subproblem is a maximum independent set problem. The latter is reformulated as a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) model and solved by quantum-annealing-inspired algorithms (QAIA) implemented in the MindQuantum framework, specifically the ballistic simulated branching (BSB) and simulated coherent Ising machine (SimCIM) methods, while the master problem is solved by Gurobi. Computational experiments on a family of synthetic EV charging instances show that the QAIA-enhanced algorithms match the pure Gurobi-based branch-and-price baseline on small and medium instances, and clearly outperform it on large and hard instances. In several cases where the baseline reaches the time limit with non-zero optimality gaps, the QAIA-based variants close the gap and prove optimality within the same time budget. These results indicate that integrating QAIA into classical decomposition schemes are a promising direction for large-scale EV charging scheduling and related PCP applications.

Quantum-annealing-inspired algorithms for multijet clustering

Jet clustering or reconstruction is a crucial component at high energy colliders, a procedure to identify sprays of collimated particles originating from the fragmentation and hadronization of quarks and gluons. It is a complicated combinatorial optimization problem and requires intensive computing resources. In this study, we formulate jet reconstruction as a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problem and introduce novel quantum-annealing-inspired algorithms for clustering multiple jets in electron-positron collision events. One of these quantum-annealing-inspired algorithms, ballistic simulated bifurcation, overcomes problems previously observed in multijet clustering with quantum-annealing approaches. We find that both the distance defined in the QUBO matrix and the prediction power of the QUBO solvers have crucial impacts on the multijet clustering performance. This study opens up a new approach to globally reconstructing multijet beyond dijet in one go, in contrast to the traditional iterative method.

High-Order Modulation Large MIMO Detector Based on Physics-Inspired Methods

Applying quantum annealing or current quantum-/physics-inspired algorithms for MIMO detection always abandon the direct gray-coded bit-to-symbol mapping in order to obtain Ising form, leading to inconsistency errors. This often results in slow convergence rates and error floor, particularly with high-order modulations. We propose HOPbit, a novel MIMO detector designed to address this issue by transforming the MIMO detection problem into a higher-order unconstrained binary optimization (HUBO) problem while maintaining gray-coded bit-to-symbol mapping. The method then employs the simulated probabilistic bits (p-bits) algorithm to directly solve HUBO without degradation. This innovative strategy enables HOPbit to achieve rapid convergence and attain near-optimal maximum-likelihood performance in most scenarios, even those involving high-order modulations. The experiments show that HOPbit surpasses ParaMax by several orders of magnitude in terms of bit error rate (BER) in the context of 12-user massive and large MIMO systems even with computing resources. In addition, HOPbit achieves lower BER rates compared to other traditional detectors.

Quantum-Annealing-Inspired Algorithms for Track Reconstruction at High-Energy Colliders

Charged particle reconstruction or track reconstruction is one of the most crucial components of pattern recognition in high-energy collider physics. It is known to entail enormous consumption of computing resources, especially when the particle multiplicity is high, which will be the conditions at future colliders, such as the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider and Super Proton-Proton Collider. Track reconstruction can be formulated as a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problem, for which various quantum algorithms have been investigated and evaluated with both a quantum simulator and hardware. Simulated bifurcation algorithms are a set of quantum-annealing-inspired algorithms, known to be serious competitors to other Ising machines. In this study, we show that simulated bifurcation algorithms can be employed to solve the particle tracking problem. The simulated bifurcation algorithms run on classical computers and are suitable for parallel processing and usage of graphical processing units, and they can handle significantly large amounts of data at high speed. These algorithms exhibit reconstruction efficiency and purity comparable to or sometimes improved over those of simulated annealing, but the running time can be reduced by as much as four orders of magnitude. These results suggest that QUBO models together with quantum-annealing-inspired algorithms are valuable for current and future particle tracking problems.

Muon g-2 Anomaly confronted with the higgs global data in the Left-Right Twin Higgs Models

We will examine the Left-Right Twin Higgs(LRTH) Models as a solution of muon g-2 anomaly with the background of the Higgs global fit data. In the calculation, the joint constrains from the theory, the precision electroweak data, the 125 GeV Higgs data, the leptonic flavor changing decay μ\to eγdecays, and the constraints m_{ν_R}>m_T>m_{W_H} are all considered. And with the small mass of the ϕ^0, the direct searches from the $h\to ϕ^0ϕ^0$ channels can impose stringent upper limits on Br(h\to ϕ^0ϕ^0) and can reduce the allowed region of m_{ϕ^0} and f. It is concluded that the muon g-2 anomaly can be explained in the region of 200 GeV \leq M\leq 500 GeV, 700 GeV \leq f\leq 1100 GeV, 13 GeV \leq m_{ϕ^0}\leq 55 GeV, 100 GeV \leq m_{ϕ^\pm}\leq 900 GeV, and m_{ν_R}\geq 15 TeV after imposing all the constraints mentioned above.

Light axigluon and single top production at the LHC

The light axigluon model can explain the Tevatron $t\overline{t}$ forward-backward asymmetry and at the same time satisfy the constraints from the electroweak precision measurement and the $ATLAS$ and $CMS$ data, which induces the flavor changing ($FC$) couplings of axigluon with the $SM$ and new quarks. We investigate the effects of these $FC$ couplings on the s- and t-channel single top productions at the $LHC$ and the $FC$ decays $Z\rightarrow \overline{b}s+b\overline{s}$, $t\rightarrow cγ$ and $cg$. Our numerical results show that the light axigluon can give significantly contributions to single top production and the rare top decays $t\rightarrow cγ$ and $cg$.

Associated production of the heavy charged gauge boson ${W_{H}}$ and a top quark at LHC

In the context of topflavor seesaw model, we study the production of the heavy charged gauge boson ${W_{H}}$ associated with a top quark at the LHC. Focusing on the searching channel $pp\rightarrow tW_H\rightarrow t\bar{t}b \rightarrow lνjjbbb$, we carry out a full simulation of the signal and the relevant standard model backgrounds. The kinematical distributions of final states are presented. It is found that the backgrounds can be significantly suppressed by sets of kinematic cuts, and the signal of the heavy charged boson might be detected at the LHC with $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV. With a integrated luminosity of $\LL= $ 100 $fb^{-1}$, a $8.3 σ$ signal significance can be achieved for $m_{W_H}=1.6$ TeV.

Production and decay of for the 125 GeV Higgs boson in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity

Motivated by recent search results for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we revisit the Higgs phenomenology in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). We present the signal strength modifier $μ$ respectively for the main search channels $qq' \rightarrow jjh\rightarrow jjγγ$, $qq'\rightarrow Vh\rightarrow Vγγ$, $qq'\rightarrow Vh \rightarrow Vbb$, $gg\rightarrow h \rightarrow γγ$, and $gg \rightarrow h \rightarrow VV$ in the LHT model. It is found that an enhancement factor of $1.09-1.56$ in $qq' \rightarrow jjh\rightarrow jjγγ$ channel can be obtained for this model in Case B with parameter $f$ in the range 1000 GeV$\sim 500$ GeV. However, the rates for $b\bar{b}$, $τ\barτ$ are significantly suppressed relative to the SM predictions which are still consistent with the current sensitivity. It is hoped that will be further tested with larger integrated luminosity at the LHC.

Bottom partner B' and Zb production at the LHC

Some new physics models, such as "beautiful mirrors" scenario, predict the existence of the bottom partner $B'$. Considering the constraints from the data for the $Z\rightarrow b\bar{b}$ branching ratio $R_{b}$ and the $FB$ asymmetry $A_{FB}^{b}$ on the relevant free parameters, we calculate the contributions of $B'$ to the cross section $σ(Zb)$ and the $Z$ polarization asymmetry $A_{Z}$ for $Zb$ production at the $LHC$. We find that the bottom partner $B'$ can generate significant corrections to $σ(Zb)$ and $A_{Z}$, which might be detected in near future.

Pair production of the heavy leptons associated with a gauge boson gamma or Z at the ILC

The T-odd leptons are the typical particles predicted by the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT model) and the observation of these particles might be regarded as the direct evidence of the LHT model. In this paper, we investigate the production of a pair of T-odd leptons associated with a gauge boson $V$($γ$ or $Z$) at the international linear $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider (ILC). The numerical results show that the possible signals of the T-odd leptons may be detected in the future ILC experiments.

Photoproduction of the charged top-pions at the LHeC

The top triangle moose $(TTM)$ model, which can be seen as the deconstructed version of the topcolor-assisted technicolor ($TC2$) model, predicts the existence of the charged top-pions $ π_{t}^{\pm}$ in low energy spectrum. In the context of this model, we consider photoproduction of $π^{\pm}_{t}$ via the subprocesses $γb\to t π_{t}^{-}$ and $γ\bar{b}\to \bar{t} π_{t}^{+}$ at the large hadron-electron collider ($LHeC$), in which high energy photon beams are generated by using the Compton backscatting method. We find that, as long as the charged top-pions are not too heavy, they can be abundantly produced via $γb$ collision.
