IMLE-VLA: Fast Single-Step Action Generation for Vision-Language-Action Policies

Vision-language-action (VLA) policies leverage pretrained vision-language backbones to achieve strong cross-task generalization. A leading design couples this backbone with a dedicated continuous action head trained via diffusion or flow matching. However, such heads rely on iterative multi-step sampling, for example 10 Euler steps in $\pi_{0.5}$. This creates an inference bottleneck that produces stop-and-go movement in the robot and slower task completion. We introduce IMLE-VLA, which replaces the iterative action head with a single-step conditional generator trained via conditional Implicit Maximum Likelihood Estimation (cIMLE). The cIMLE objective promotes multimodal action coverage, avoiding the mode collapse of naive regression heads while eliminating multi-step sampling entirely. When IMLE-VLA is applied to $\pi_{0.5}$, it increases inference frequency 3.67x (55 Hz vs. 15 Hz), enabling up to 11x higher action throughput. On the 40-task LIBERO benchmark, IMLE-VLA achieves the highest average success rate (98.0%) among all baselines while leading in inference frequency. Under the test-time perturbations of LIBERO-plus, IMLE-VLA retains $\pi_{0.5}$'s robustness while other baselines degrade sharply, confirming that the cIMLE head preserves generalization. Real-world experiments on a Franka Emika Panda across four tasks demonstrate smoother motion (2.2x to 3.0x lower jerk) and faster task completion, with IMLE-VLA outperforming $\pi_{0.5}$ on every task and reducing average VLA inference time per episode by 3.9x to 6.6x. Expanding Spatial and Temporal Context for Robotic Imitation Learning With Scene Graphs

Imitation learning enables robots to learn how to execute tasks via observation. However, real-world environments like homes and offices are often severely partially observed due to their large spatial scales. In addition, many tasks involve executing a series of subtasks requiring autonomous robots to reason over extended time horizons. To address these challenges, we propose using scene graphs as an explicit and structured memory mechanism in imitation learning. By maintaining a dynamic scene graph that captures object-centric relationships and their evolution over time, our method allows the agent to retain relevant historical context during task execution to efficiently reason over incrementally accrued scene information. Our experiments on simulated mobile manipulation and real-world tabletop manipulation demonstrate that our approach substantially improves policy performance, particularly in settings that demand long-term reasoning and robust generalization under partial observability.

JetViT: Efficient High-Resolution Vision Transformer with Post-Training Attention Search

We introduce JetViT, a novel family of hybrid-architecture Vision Transformer (ViT) models that match the accuracy of state-of-the-art full-attention vision foundation models while achieving substantially higher inference efficiency on high-resolution images. At the core of our approach is Post-Training Attention Search, a post-training acceleration framework that converts pre-trained full-attention ViTs into efficient hybrid-attention variants by identifying and replacing redundant full-attention blocks with linear or window-attention blocks. By inheriting the MLP and attention weights from the base model, Post-Training Attention Search efficiently explores the architectural design space through three key steps: (1) optimizing the linear-attention block design; (2) finding the best combination of linear-attention and window-attention blocks; and (3) identifying and preserving critical full-attention blocks. We evaluate JetViT on two representative high-resolution vision foundation models, DINOv3 and DepthAnythingV2. On the NVIDIA H100 GPU, JetViT achieves up to 1.79x higher throughput and up to 44.81% lower latency without sacrificing accuracy. We will release our code and accelerated ViT models soon.
