Primordial black holes and scalar induced gravitational waves from sound speed resonance in non-minimal derivative coupling inflation model

We investigate an inflationary model with a non-minimal derivative coupling, where the coupling function contains both constant and periodic components. On large scales, the model is in excellent agreement with the latest Planck-ACT-LiteBIRD-BICEP/Keck 2018 (P-ACT-LB-BK18) observations. On small scales, the periodic component induces a sound-speed resonance mechanism that significantly amplifies curvature perturbations, resulting in the production of primordial black holes (PBHs). By incorporating nonlinear effects in the PBH abundance calculation, we find that the resulting PBHs can account for the majority of dark matter in the Universe. Furthermore, the PBH formation process generates scalar-induced gravitational waves (SIGWs) with a characteristic multi-peak spectral shape, which may be detectable by future space-based detectors such as LISA, Taiji, and TianQin. The model also predicts a high-frequency stochastic gravitational-wave background (SGWB) from PBH binary mergers. A combined detection of SIGWs and high-frequency gravitational waves (GWs) in future experiments would provide a direct and testable probe of this inflationary scenario.

Dynamic sensitivity of quantum Rabi model with quantum criticality

We study the dynamic sensitivity of the quantum Rabi model, which exhibits quantum criticality in the finite-component-system case. This dynamic sensitivity can be detected by introducing an auxiliary two-level atom far-off-resonantly coupled to the cavity field of the quantum Rabi model. We find that when the quantum Rabi model goes through the critical point, the auxiliary atom experiences a sudden decoherence, which can be characterised by a sharp decay of the Loschmidt echo. Our scheme will provide a reliable way to observe quantum phase transition in ultrastrongly coupled quantum systems.

Critically-enhanced spin-nematic squeezing and entanglement in dipolar spinor condensates

We study the quantum critical effect enhanced spin-nematic squeezing and quantum Fisher information (QFI) in the spin-1 dipolar atomic Bose-Einstein condensate. We show that the quantum phase transitions can improve the squeezing and QFI in the nearby regime of critical point, and the Heisenberg-limited high-precision metrology can be obtained. The different properties of the ground squeezing and entanglement under even and odd number of atoms are further analyzed, by calculating the exact analytical expressions. We also demonstrate the squeezing and entanglement generated by the spin-mixing dynamics around the phase transition point. It is shown that the steady squeezing and entanglement can be obtained, and the Bogoliubov approximation can well describe the dynamics of spin-nematic squeezed vacuum state.

Anisotropic Rabi model

We define the anisotropic Rabi model as the generalization of the spin-boson Rabi model: The Hamiltonian system breaks the parity symmetry; the rotating and counter-rotating interactions are governed by two different coupling constants; a further parameter introduces a phase factor in the counter-rotating terms. The exact energy spectrum and eigenstates of the generalized model is worked out. The solution is obtained as an elaboration of a recent proposed method for the isotropic limit of the model. In this way, we provide a long sought solution of a cascade of models with immediate relevance in different physical fields, including i) quantum optics: two-level atom in single mode cross electric and magnetic fields; ii) solid state physics: electrons in semiconductors with Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit coupling; iii) mesoscopic physics: Josephson junctions flux-qubit quantum circuits.
