RaMark: Radioactive Watermarking for Generated Tabular Data

Recent advances in generative modeling have made generated tabular data a practical solution for privacy-sensitive data sharing, where watermarking enables ownership verification. However, existing watermarking methods fundamentally fail under retraining attacks, in which an adversary retrains a generative model on a watermarked dataset and regenerates high-utility data that no longer carries the watermark. We address this challenge by introducing radioactivity, the property that a watermark remains detectable after generative model retraining, and propose RaMark, a radioactive watermarking method that embeds a sinusoidal dependency as an intrinsic component of the data distribution. By coupling the watermark with the underlying distribution, RaMark ensures that any generative model preserving data utility also has to preserve the watermark. We theoretically show that with high probability removing watermark degrades utility and alters data distribution. Extensive experiments on two real-world tabular datasets, under a large-scale ownership verification setting with $10^5$ independent data owners, demonstrate that RaMark achieves substantially stronger radioactivity than seven state-of-the-art methods and consistently outperforms them against both retraining and data modification attacks.

Liouville theorem for elliptic equations involving the sum of the function and its gradient in $\mathbb R^n$

We prove Liouville theorem for the equation $Δv + N v^p + M |\nabla v|^{q}= 0$ in $\mathbb R^n$, with $M, N > 0, q = \frac{2p}{p + 1}$ in the critical and subcritical case. The proof is based on a differential identity and Young inequality. We remark that this is the second version for the paper. And we thank Prof. Bidaut-Véron and Véron for their very useful comments on this paper. Compared with the first one, in this version we correct some errors and adjust the arrangement of the proof so that it can be understood easily.

Liouville theorem for quasilinear elliptic equations in $\mathbb R^N$

We prove Liouville theorem for the equation $Δ_m v + v^p + M |\nabla v|^{q}= 0$ in a domain $Ω\subset\mathbb R^n$, with $M\in \mathbb{R}$ in the critical and subcritical case. As a natural extension of our recent work \cite{MWZ}, the proof is based on an integral identity and Young's inequality.

High Energy Density in layered 2D Nanomaterial based Polymer Dielectric Films

Dielectric capacitors are critical components in electronics and energy storage devices. The polymer based dielectric capacitors have advantages of flexibility, fast charge and discharge, low loss, and graceful failure. Elevating the use of polymeric dielectric capacitors for advanced energy applications such as electric vehicles (EVs) however requires significant enhancement of their energy densities. Here, we report a polymer thin film heterostructure based capacitor of poly(vinylidene fluoride)/poly(methyl methacrylate) with stratified 2D nanofillers (Mica or h-BN nanosheets) (PVDF/PMMA-2D fillers/PVDF), that shows enhanced permittivity, high dielectric strength and an ultra-high energy density of 75 J/cm3 with efficiency over 79%. Density functional theory calculations verify the observed permittivity enhancement. This approach of using oriented 2D nanofillers based polymer heterostructure composites is expected to be universal for designing high energy density thin film polymeric dielectric capacitors for myriads of applications.

An Iterative Heuristic Method to Determine Radial Topology for Distribution System Restoration

Coordinating multiple local power sources can restore critical loads after the major outages caused by extreme events. A radial topology is needed for distribution system restoration, while determining a good topology in real-time for online use is a challenge. In this paper, a graph theory-based heuristic considering power flow state is proposed to fast determine the radial topology. The loops of distribution network are eliminated by iteration. The proposed method is validated by one snapshot and multi-period critical load restoration models on different cases. The case studies indicate that the proposed method can determine radial topology in a few seconds and ensure the restoration capacity.

Detection of Information Hiding at Anti-Copying 2D Barcodes

This paper concerns the problem of detecting the use of information hiding at anti-copying 2D barcodes. Prior hidden information detection schemes are either heuristicbased or Machine Learning (ML) based. The key limitation of prior heuristics-based schemes is that they do not answer the fundamental question of why the information hidden at a 2D barcode can be detected. The key limitation of prior MLbased information schemes is that they lack robustness because a printed 2D barcode is very much environmentally dependent, and thus an information hiding detection scheme trained in one environment often does not work well in another environment. In this paper, we propose two hidden information detection schemes at the existing anti-copying 2D barcodes. The first scheme is to directly use the pixel distance to detect the use of an information hiding scheme in a 2D barcode, referred as to the Pixel Distance Based Detection (PDBD) scheme. The second scheme is first to calculate the variance of the raw signal and the covariance between the recovered signal and the raw signal, and then based on the variance results, detects the use of information hiding scheme in a 2D barcode, referred as to the Pixel Variance Based Detection (PVBD) scheme. Moreover, we design advanced IC attacks to evaluate the security of two existing anti-copying 2D barcodes. We implemented our schemes and conducted extensive performance comparison between our schemes and prior schemes under different capturing devices, such as a scanner and a camera phone. Our experimental results show that the PVBD scheme can correctly detect the existence of the hidden information at both the 2LQR code and the LCAC 2D barcode. Moreover, the probability of successfully attacking of our IC attacks achieves 0.6538 for the 2LQR code and 1 for the LCAC 2D barcode.

Low-Cost Anti-Copying 2D Barcode by Exploiting Channel Noise Characteristics

In this paper, for overcoming the drawbacks of the prior approaches, such as low generality, high cost, and high overhead, we propose a Low-Cost Anti-Copying (LCAC) 2D barcode by exploiting the difference between the noise characteristics of legal and illegal channels. An embedding strategy is proposed, and for a variant of it, we also make the corresponding analysis. For accurately evaluating the performance of our approach, a theoretical model of the noise in an illegal channel is established by using a generalized Gaussian distribution. By comparing with the experimental results based on various printers, scanners, and a mobile phone, it can be found that the sample histogram and curve fitting of the theoretical model match well, so it can be concluded that the theoretical model works well. For evaluating the security of the proposed LCAC code, besides the direct-copying (DC) attack, the improved version, which is the synthesized-copying (SC) attack, is also considered in this paper. Based on the theoretical model, we build a prediction function to optimize the parameters of our approach. The parameters optimization incorporates the covertness requirement, the robustness requirement and a tradeoff between the production cost and the cost of illegally-copying attacks together. The experimental results show that the proposed LCAC code with two printers and two scanners can detect the DC attack effectively and resist the SC attack up to the access of 14 legal copies.

Improving brain computer interface performance by data augmentation with conditional Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Networks

One of the big restrictions in brain computer interface field is the very limited training samples, it is difficult to build a reliable and usable system with such limited data. Inspired by generative adversarial networks, we propose a conditional Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial (cDCGAN) Networks method to generate more artificial EEG signal automatically for data augmentation to improve the performance of convolutional neural networks in brain computer interface field and overcome the small training dataset problems. We evaluate the proposed cDCGAN method on BCI competition dataset of motor imagery. The results show that the generated artificial EEG data from Gaussian noise can learn the features from raw EEG data and has no less than the classification accuracy of raw EEG data in the testing dataset. Also by using generated artificial data can effectively improve classification accuracy at the same model with limited training data.

A general study of regular and singular black hole solutions in Einstein's conformal gravity

We study some general properties of two black hole solutions in Einstein's conformal gravity. Both solutions can be obtained from the Kerr metric with a suitable conformal rescaling, which leads, respectively, to a regular and a singular spacetime. In addition to the mass $M$ and the spin angular momentum $J$ of the black hole, these solutions are characterized by a new parameter, $L$, which may be expected to be of the order of the black hole mass. We study the geodesic motion and we calculate the radiative efficiency of a putative accretion disk around these black holes, which allows us to get an estimate of an upper bound on the value of $L$. Lastly, we explore the possibility of "destroying" the event horizon of these black holes. Within our approach, we are not able to destroy the event horizon of the regular black hole solution, while we can in the case of the singular one.
