OmniGen-AR: AutoRegressive Any-to-Image Generation

Autoregressive (AR) models have demonstrated strong potential in visual generation, offering superior performance with simple architectures and optimization objectives. However, existing methods are typically limited to single-modality conditions, e.g., text, restricting their applicability in real-world scenarios that demand image synthesis from diverse controls. In this work, we present OmniGen-AR, a unified autoregressive framework for Any-to-Image generation. By discretizing various visual conditions through a shared visual tokenizer and text prompts with a text tokenizer, OmniGen-AR supports a broad spectrum of conditional inputs within a single model, including text (text-to-image generation), spatial signals (segmentation-to-image and depth-to-image), and visual context (image editing, frame prediction, and text-to-video generation). To mitigate the risk of information leakage from condition tokens to content tokens, we introduce Disentangled Causal Attention (DCA), which separates the full-sequence causal mask into condition causal attention and content causal attention. It serves as a training-time regularizer without affecting the standard next-token prediction during inference. With this design, OmniGen-AR achieves new state-of-the-art or at least competitive results across a range of benchmark, e.g., 0.63 on GenEval and 80.02 on VBench, demonstrating its effectiveness in flexible and high-fidelity visual generation.

One-Step Generative Modeling via Wasserstein Gradient Flows

Diffusion models and flow-based methods have shown impressive generative capability, especially for images, but their sampling is expensive because it requires many iterative updates. We introduce W-Flow, a framework for training a generator that transforms samples from a simple reference distribution into samples from a target data distribution in a single step. This is achieved in two steps: we first define an evolution from the reference distribution to the target distribution through a Wasserstein gradient flow that minimizes an energy functional; second, we train a static neural generator to compress this evolution into one-step generation. We instantiate the energy functional with the Sinkhorn divergence, which yields an efficient optimal-transport-based update rule that captures global distributional discrepancy and improves coverage of the target distribution. We further prove that the finite-sample training dynamics converge to the continuous-time distributional dynamics under suitable assumptions. Empirically, W-Flow sets a new state of the art for one-step ImageNet 256$\times$256 generation, achieving 1.29 FID, with improved mode coverage and domain transfer. Compared to multi-step diffusion models with similar FID scores, our method yields approximately 100$\times$ faster sampling. These results show that Wasserstein gradient flows provide a principled and effective foundation for fast and high-fidelity generative modeling.

Continuous Latent Diffusion Language Model

Large language models have achieved remarkable success under the autoregressive paradigm, yet high-quality text generation need not be tied to a fixed left-to-right order. Existing alternatives still struggle to jointly achieve generation efficiency, scalable representation learning, and effective global semantic modeling. We propose Cola DLM, a hierarchical latent diffusion language model that frames text generation through hierarchical information decomposition. Cola DLM first learns a stable text-to-latent mapping with a Text VAE, then models a global semantic prior in continuous latent space with a block-causal DiT, and finally generates text through conditional decoding. From a unified Markov-path perspective, its diffusion process performs latent prior transport rather than token-level observation recovery, thereby separating global semantic organization from local textual realization. This design yields a more flexible non-autoregressive inductive bias, supports semantic compression and prior fitting in continuous space, and naturally extends to other continuous modalities. Through experiments spanning 4 research questions, 8 benchmarks, strictly matched ~2B-parameter autoregressive and LLaDA baselines, and scaling curves up to about 2000 EFLOPs, we identify an effective overall configuration of Cola DLM and verify its strong scaling behavior for text generation. Taken together, the results establish hierarchical continuous latent prior modeling as a principled alternative to strictly token-level language modeling, where generation quality and scaling behavior may better reflect model capability than likelihood, while also suggesting a concrete path toward unified modeling across discrete text and continuous modalities.

End-to-End Autoregressive Image Generation with 1D Semantic Tokenizer

Autoregressive image modeling relies on visual tokenizers to compress images into compact latent representations. We design an end-to-end training pipeline that jointly optimizes reconstruction and generation, enabling direct supervision from generation results to the tokenizer. This contrasts with prior two-stage approaches that train tokenizers and generative models separately. We further investigate leveraging vision foundation models to improve 1D tokenizers for autoregressive modeling. Our autoregressive generative model achieves strong empirical results, including a state-of-the-art FID score of 1.48 without guidance on ImageNet 256x256 generation.

Video Generation with Predictive Latents

Video Variational Autoencoder (VAE) enables latent video generative modeling by mapping the visual world into compact spatiotemporal latent spaces, improving training efficiency and stability. While existing video VAEs achieve commendable reconstruction quality, continued optimization of reconstruction does not necessarily translate into improved generative performance. How to enhance the diffusability of video latents remains a critical and unresolved challenge. In this work, inspired by principles of predictive world modeling, we investigate the potential of predictive learning to improve the video generative modeling. To this end, we introduce a simple and effective predictive reconstruction objective that unifies predictive learning with video reconstruction. Specifically, we randomly discard future frames and encode only partial past observations, while training the decoder to reconstruct the observed frames and predict future ones simultaneously. This design encourages the latent space to encode temporally predictive structures and build a more coherent understanding of video dynamics, thereby improving generation quality. Our model, termed Predictive Video VAE (PV-VAE), achieves superior performance on video generation, with 52% faster convergence and a 34.42 FVD improvement over the Wan2.2 VAE on UCF101. Furthermore, comprehensive analyses demonstrate that PV-VAE not only exhibits favorable scalability, with generative performance improving alongside VAE training, but also yields consistent gains in downstream video understanding, underscoring a latent space that effectively captures temporal coherence and motion priors.

Unified Medical Image Tokenizer for Autoregressive Synthesis and Understanding

Autoregressive modeling has driven major advances in multimodal AI, yet its application to medical imaging remains constrained by the absence of a unified image tokenizer that simultaneously preserves fine-grained anatomical structures and rich clinical semantics across heterogeneous modalities. Existing approaches jointly optimize image reconstruction and textual semantic objectives, relying on large-scale image-caption pairs and are prone to gradient interference. This is ill-suited for the medical domain where paired data are scarce and abundant unpaired images remain unexploited. This work identifies these issues in building unified medical image tokenizers, and introduces a principled two-stage training framework using visual representation as a bridge to address them. The propose visual representation alignment stage enables the utilization of large-scale unpaired medical images to ensure reconstruction fidelity and establish foundational semantics, alleviating the interference and better preparing for the second stage where fine-grained textual semantics are injected using image-text pairs. The resulting tokenizer, MedITok, is trained on over 33 million medical images spanning 9 modalities and 2 million image-text pairs. MedITok achieves state-of-the-art performance on 30+ benchmarks spanning 9 imaging modalities and 4 task families. It further enables autoregressive modeling for diagnostic and generative applications, serving as a scalable component for future multimodal models with unified synthesis and understanding capabilities in the medical domain. Adaptive Spectral Feature Forecasting for Diffusion Sampling Acceleration

Diffusion models have become the dominant tool for high-fidelity image and video generation, yet are critically bottlenecked by their inference speed due to the numerous iterative passes of Diffusion Transformers. To reduce the exhaustive compute, recent works resort to the feature caching and reusing scheme that skips network evaluations at selected diffusion steps by using cached features in previous steps. However, their preliminary design solely relies on local approximation, causing errors to grow rapidly with large skips and leading to degraded sample quality at high speedups. In this work, we propose spectral diffusion feature forecaster (Spectrum), a training-free approach that enables global, long-range feature reuse with tightly controlled error. In particular, we view the latent features of the denoiser as functions over time and approximate them with Chebyshev polynomials. Specifically, we fit the coefficient for each basis via ridge regression, which is then leveraged to forecast features at multiple future diffusion steps. We theoretically reveal that our approach admits more favorable long-horizon behavior and yields an error bound that does not compound with the step size. Extensive experiments on various state-of-the-art image and video diffusion models consistently verify the superiority of our approach. Notably, we achieve up to 4.79$\times$ speedup on FLUX.1 and 4.67$\times$ speedup on Wan2.1-14B, while maintaining much higher sample quality compared with the baselines.

VTok: A Unified Video Tokenizer with Decoupled Spatial-Temporal Latents

This work presents VTok, a unified video tokenization framework that can be used for both generation and understanding tasks. Unlike the leading vision-language systems that tokenize videos through a naive frame-sampling strategy, we propose to decouple the spatial and temporal representations of videos by retaining the spatial features of a single key frame while encoding each subsequent frame into a single residual token, achieving compact yet expressive video tokenization. Our experiments suggest that VTok effectively reduces the complexity of video representation from the product of frame count and per-frame token count to their sum, while the residual tokens sufficiently capture viewpoint and motion changes relative to the key frame. Extensive evaluations demonstrate the efficacy and efficiency of VTok: it achieves notably higher performance on a range of video understanding and text-to-video generation benchmarks compared with baselines using naive tokenization, all with shorter token sequences per video (e.g., 3.4% higher accuracy on our TV-Align benchmark and 1.9% higher VBench score). Remarkably, VTok produces more coherent motion and stronger guidance following in text-to-video generation, owing to its more consistent temporal encoding. We hope VTok can serve as a standardized video tokenization paradigm for future research in video understanding and generation.

Composable Visual Tokenizers with Generator-Free Diagnostics of Learnability

We introduce CompTok, a training framework for learning visual tokenizers whose tokens are enhanced for compositionality. CompTok uses a token-conditioned diffusion decoder. By employing an InfoGAN-style objective, where we train a recognition model to predict the tokens used to condition the diffusion decoder using the decoded images, we enforce the decoder to not ignore any of the tokens. To promote compositional control, besides the original images, CompTok also trains on tokens formed by swapping token subsets between images, enabling more compositional control of the token over the decoder. As the swapped tokens between images do not have ground truth image targets, we apply a manifold constraint via an adversarial flow regularizer to keep unpaired swap generations on the natural-image distribution. The resulting tokenizer not only achieves state-of-the-art performance on image class-conditioned generation, but also demonstrates properties such as swapping tokens between images to achieve high level semantic editing of an image. Additionally, we propose two metrics that measures the landscape of the token space that can be useful to describe not only the compositionality of the tokens, but also how easy to learn the landscape is for a generator to be trained on this space. We show in experiments that CompTok can improve on both of the metrics as well as supporting state-of-the-art generators for class conditioned generation.

Seedream 4.0: Toward Next-generation Multimodal Image Generation

We introduce Seedream 4.0, an efficient and high-performance multimodal image generation system that unifies text-to-image (T2I) synthesis, image editing, and multi-image composition within a single framework. We develop a highly efficient diffusion transformer with a powerful VAE which also can reduce the number of image tokens considerably. This allows for efficient training of our model, and enables it to fast generate native high-resolution images (e.g., 1K-4K). Seedream 4.0 is pretrained on billions of text-image pairs spanning diverse taxonomies and knowledge-centric concepts. Comprehensive data collection across hundreds of vertical scenarios, coupled with optimized strategies, ensures stable and large-scale training, with strong generalization. By incorporating a carefully fine-tuned VLM model, we perform multi-modal post-training for training both T2I and image editing tasks jointly. For inference acceleration, we integrate adversarial distillation, distribution matching, and quantization, as well as speculative decoding. It achieves an inference time of up to 1.8 seconds for generating a 2K image (without a LLM/VLM as PE model). Comprehensive evaluations reveal that Seedream 4.0 can achieve state-of-the-art results on both T2I and multimodal image editing. In particular, it demonstrates exceptional multimodal capabilities in complex tasks, including precise image editing and in-context reasoning, and also allows for multi-image reference, and can generate multiple output images. This extends traditional T2I systems into an more interactive and multidimensional creative tool, pushing the boundary of generative AI for both creativity and professional applications. We further scale our model and data as Seedream 4.5. Seedream 4.0 and Seedream 4.5 are accessible on Volcano Engine https://www.volcengine.com/experience/ark?launch=seedream.

DanceGRPO: Unleashing GRPO on Visual Generation

Recent advances in generative AI have revolutionized visual content creation, yet aligning model outputs with human preferences remains a critical challenge. While Reinforcement Learning (RL) has emerged as a promising approach for fine-tuning generative models, existing methods like DDPO and DPOK face fundamental limitations - particularly their inability to maintain stable optimization when scaling to large and diverse prompt sets, severely restricting their practical utility. This paper presents DanceGRPO, a framework that addresses these limitations through an innovative adaptation of Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) for visual generation tasks. Our key insight is that GRPO's inherent stability mechanisms uniquely position it to overcome the optimization challenges that plague prior RL-based approaches on visual generation. DanceGRPO establishes several significant advances: First, it demonstrates consistent and stable policy optimization across multiple modern generative paradigms, including both diffusion models and rectified flows. Second, it maintains robust performance when scaling to complex, real-world scenarios encompassing three key tasks and four foundation models. Third, it shows remarkable versatility in optimizing for diverse human preferences as captured by five distinct reward models assessing image/video aesthetics, text-image alignment, video motion quality, and binary feedback. Our comprehensive experiments reveal that DanceGRPO outperforms baseline methods by up to 181\% across multiple established benchmarks, including HPS-v2.1, CLIP Score, VideoAlign, and GenEval. Our results establish DanceGRPO as a robust and versatile solution for scaling Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) tasks in visual generation, offering new insights into harmonizing reinforcement learning and visual synthesis.

WorldWeaver: Generating Long-Horizon Video Worlds via Rich Perception

Generative video modeling has made significant strides, yet ensuring structural and temporal consistency over long sequences remains a challenge. Current methods predominantly rely on RGB signals, leading to accumulated errors in object structure and motion over extended durations. To address these issues, we introduce WorldWeaver, a robust framework for long video generation that jointly models RGB frames and perceptual conditions within a unified long-horizon modeling scheme. Our training framework offers three key advantages. First, by jointly predicting perceptual conditions and color information from a unified representation, it significantly enhances temporal consistency and motion dynamics. Second, by leveraging depth cues, which we observe to be more resistant to drift than RGB, we construct a memory bank that preserves clearer contextual information, improving quality in long-horizon video generation. Third, we employ segmented noise scheduling for training prediction groups, which further mitigates drift and reduces computational cost. Extensive experiments on both diffusion- and rectified flow-based models demonstrate the effectiveness of WorldWeaver in reducing temporal drift and improving the fidelity of generated videos.

Seedream 3.0 Technical Report

We present Seedream 3.0, a high-performance Chinese-English bilingual image generation foundation model. We develop several technical improvements to address existing challenges in Seedream 2.0, including alignment with complicated prompts, fine-grained typography generation, suboptimal visual aesthetics and fidelity, and limited image resolutions. Specifically, the advancements of Seedream 3.0 stem from improvements across the entire pipeline, from data construction to model deployment. At the data stratum, we double the dataset using a defect-aware training paradigm and a dual-axis collaborative data-sampling framework. Furthermore, we adopt several effective techniques such as mixed-resolution training, cross-modality RoPE, representation alignment loss, and resolution-aware timestep sampling in the pre-training phase. During the post-training stage, we utilize diversified aesthetic captions in SFT, and a VLM-based reward model with scaling, thereby achieving outputs that well align with human preferences. Furthermore, Seedream 3.0 pioneers a novel acceleration paradigm. By employing consistent noise expectation and importance-aware timestep sampling, we achieve a 4 to 8 times speedup while maintaining image quality. Seedream 3.0 demonstrates significant improvements over Seedream 2.0: it enhances overall capabilities, in particular for text-rendering in complicated Chinese characters which is important to professional typography generation. In addition, it provides native high-resolution output (up to 2K), allowing it to generate images with high visual quality.

SpatialRGPT: Grounded Spatial Reasoning in Vision Language Models

Vision Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated remarkable performance in 2D vision and language tasks. However, their ability to reason about spatial arrangements remains limited. In this work, we introduce Spatial Region GPT (SpatialRGPT) to enhance VLMs' spatial perception and reasoning capabilities. SpatialRGPT advances VLMs' spatial understanding through two key innovations: (1) a data curation pipeline that enables effective learning of regional representation from 3D scene graphs, and (2) a flexible plugin module for integrating depth information into the visual encoder of existing VLMs. During inference, when provided with user-specified region proposals, SpatialRGPT can accurately perceive their relative directions and distances. Additionally, we propose SpatialRGBT-Bench, a benchmark with ground-truth 3D annotations encompassing indoor, outdoor, and simulated environments, for evaluating 3D spatial cognition in VLMs. Our results demonstrate that SpatialRGPT significantly enhances performance in spatial reasoning tasks, both with and without local region prompts. The model also exhibits strong generalization capabilities, effectively reasoning about complex spatial relations and functioning as a region-aware dense reward annotator for robotic tasks. Plot2Code: A Comprehensive Benchmark for Evaluating Multi-modal Large Language Models in Code Generation from Scientific Plots

The remarkable progress of Multi-modal Large Language Models (MLLMs) has attracted significant attention due to their superior performance in visual contexts. However, their capabilities in turning visual figure to executable code, have not been evaluated thoroughly. To address this, we introduce Plot2Code, a comprehensive visual coding benchmark designed for a fair and in-depth assessment of MLLMs. We carefully collect 132 manually selected high-quality matplotlib plots across six plot types from publicly available matplotlib galleries. For each plot, we carefully offer its source code, and an descriptive instruction summarized by GPT-4. This approach enables Plot2Code to extensively evaluate MLLMs' code capabilities across various input modalities. Furthermore, we propose three automatic evaluation metrics, including code pass rate, text-match ratio, and GPT-4V overall rating, for a fine-grained assessment of the output code and rendered images. Instead of simply judging pass or fail, we employ GPT-4V to make an overall judgement between the generated and reference images, which has been shown to be consistent with human evaluation. The evaluation results, which include analyses of 14 MLLMs such as the proprietary GPT-4V, Gemini-Pro, and the open-sourced Mini-Gemini, highlight the substantial challenges presented by Plot2Code. With Plot2Code, we reveal that most existing MLLMs struggle with visual coding for text-dense plots, heavily relying on textual instruction. We hope that the evaluation results from Plot2Code on visual coding will guide the future development of MLLMs. All data involved with Plot2Code are available at https://huggingface.co/datasets/TencentARC/Plot2Code.

RAPHAEL: Text-to-Image Generation via Large Mixture of Diffusion Paths

Text-to-image generation has recently witnessed remarkable achievements. We introduce a text-conditional image diffusion model, termed RAPHAEL, to generate highly artistic images, which accurately portray the text prompts, encompassing multiple nouns, adjectives, and verbs. This is achieved by stacking tens of mixture-of-experts (MoEs) layers, i.e., space-MoE and time-MoE layers, enabling billions of diffusion paths (routes) from the network input to the output. Each path intuitively functions as a "painter" for depicting a particular textual concept onto a specified image region at a diffusion timestep. Comprehensive experiments reveal that RAPHAEL outperforms recent cutting-edge models, such as Stable Diffusion, ERNIE-ViLG 2.0, DeepFloyd, and DALL-E 2, in terms of both image quality and aesthetic appeal. Firstly, RAPHAEL exhibits superior performance in switching images across diverse styles, such as Japanese comics, realism, cyberpunk, and ink illustration. Secondly, a single model with three billion parameters, trained on 1,000 A100 GPUs for two months, achieves a state-of-the-art zero-shot FID score of 6.61 on the COCO dataset. Furthermore, RAPHAEL significantly surpasses its counterparts in human evaluation on the ViLG-300 benchmark. We believe that RAPHAEL holds the potential to propel the frontiers of image generation research in both academia and industry, paving the way for future breakthroughs in this rapidly evolving field. More details can be found on a webpage: https://raphael-painter.github.io/.
