Programmable Photocatalysis via Symmetry-Defined Periodic Potentials

Photocatalysis in atomically thin semiconductors is often limited by rapid electron-hole recombination, making it difficult to translate favorable band structures into efficient chemical function. Here we propose symmetry-defined periodic potentials as a strategy for photocatalysis: instead of modifying the chemistry of the active layer, one engineers a long-wavelength electrostatic landscape that spatially separates photoexcited electrons and holes. Applied to monolayer InSe, we show that experimentally accessible moir\'e patterns, such as those generated by twisted hBN, produce miniband formation, band-gap renormalization, and robust carrier separation. Using commensurate BN/InSe local registries, we further show that the moir\'e control layer transfers a measurable electrostatic modulation to InSe, providing the microscopic link between continuum potential engineering and the local surface environment. The key result is that the periodic potential strongly reorganizes carrier distribution while only weakly perturbing adsorption trends, thereby identifying a practically useful regime in which charge separation can be engineered without demanding major changes to the underlying surface chemistry. These results position periodic potentials as a broadly applicable design principle for photocatalysis and other light-driven interfacial phenomena in two-dimensional materials.

Isothermal Annealing Effects on $\beta$-Relaxations and Crystallization Behaviors in Amorphous GeTe

A secondary $\beta$-relaxation process is often the dominant source of atomic dynamics below $T_\mathrm{g}$ in many glass forming systems. Recent studies reported the presence of $\beta$-relaxations in amorphous phase-change materials (PCMs) and showed that suppressing the $\beta$-relaxation via annealing in Ge$_{15}$Sb$_{85}$ can effectively slow down its crystallization kinetics. Yet, when Sb is replaced by Te, similar annealing protocol has little effect on the Te-rich alloy Ge$_{15}$Te$_{85}$. Here, we investigate amorphous GeTe that is a Sb-free PCM, but with faster crystallization kinetics than Ge$_{15}$Te$_{85}$. Using powder mechanical dynamic spectroscopy, we observe a clear reduction of the excess-wing in the loss modulus upon isothermal annealing, indicating a suppression of its $\beta$-relaxation. Ultrafast calorimetric analysis and time-resolved optical reflectivity measurements show that, whereas as-deposited GeTe exhibit stochastic crystallization behaviors, annealed samples crystallize more slowly with reduced stochasticity. Synchrotron X-ray scattering experiments reveal reinforced Peierls-like distortions in the amorphous structure after annealing, and demonstrate that, even if annealing introduces nucleation sites, it nonetheless slows down crystallization kinetics. These finding suggests that, in annealed GeTe, crystallization is limited by crystal growth rate, which is retarded through the suppression of $\beta$-relaxation.

Multi-robot Rigid Formation Navigation via Synchronous Motion and Discrete-time Communication-Control Optimization

Rigid-formation navigation of multiple robots is essential for applications such as cooperative transportation. This process involves a team of collaborative robots maintaining a predefined geometric configuration, such as a square, while in motion. For untethered collaborative motion, inter-robot communication must be conducted through a wireless network. Notably, few existing works offer a comprehensive solution for multi-robot formation navigation executable on microprocessor platforms via wireless networks, particularly for formations that must traverse complex curvilinear paths. To address this gap, we introduce a novel "hold-and-hit" communication-control framework designed to work seamlessly with the widely-used Robotic Operating System (ROS) platform. The hold-and-hit framework synchronizes robot movements in a manner robust against wireless network delays and packet loss. It operates over discrete-time communication-control cycles, making it suitable for implementation on contemporary microprocessors. Complementary to hold-and-hit, we propose an intra-cycle optimization approach that enables rigid formations to closely follow desired curvilinear paths, even under the nonholonomic movement constraints inherent to most vehicular robots. The combination of hold-and-hit and intra-cycle optimization ensures precise and reliable navigation even in challenging scenarios. Simulations in a virtual environment demonstrate the superiority of our method in maintaining a four-robot square formation along an S-shaped path, outperforming two existing approaches. Furthermore, real-world experiments validate the effectiveness of our framework: the robots maintained an inter-distance error within $\pm 0.069m$ and an inter-angular orientation error within $\pm19.15^{\circ}$ while navigating along an S-shaped path at a fixed linear velocity of $0.1 m/s$.

Strain-Induced Antiferromagnetic-to-Altermagnetic Phase Transition and Topology in $(\mathrm{CrO}_2)_1/(\mathrm{TaO}_2)_2$ Superlattice

Topological aspects in altermagnets have come into focus recently, and tuning the antiferromagnetic (AFM) state into an altermagnetic phase remains an active frontier. We realize both within a rutile superlattice here in this paper. With first principles calculation, we show that a uniaxial strain of only 0.5$\%$ along the c axis converts the $(\mathrm{CrO}_2)_1/(\mathrm{TaO}_2)_2$ rutile superlattice from a trivial antiferromagnet into an altermagnet with topology accompanied by a weak SOC. The strain opens a spin-dependent band splitting of $\sim 1.1 eV$ and, despite the weak SOC together with in-plane magnetic moment orientation, generates an intrinsic anomalous Hall conductivity of order $10^3 S/cm$, comparable magnitude to that in ferromagnetic Weyl semimetals. Tiny SOC here with in-plane \(\text{N\'eel}\) orientation gaps out the Weyl nodal rings, giving rise to 16 Weyl points in the superlattice. Thus, we point out a simple route toward strain and field tunable, low-dissipation altermagnetic electronics.

A Hybrid TDMA/CSMA Protocol for Time-Sensitive Traffic in Robot Applications

Recent progress in robotics has underscored the demand for real-time control in applications such as manufacturing, healthcare, and autonomous systems, where the timely delivery of mission-critical commands under heterogeneous robotic traffic is paramount for operational efficacy and safety. In these scenarios, mission-critical traffic follows a strict deadline-constrained communication pattern: commands must arrive within defined QoS deadlines, otherwise late arrivals can degrade performance or destabilize control loops. In this work, we demonstrate on a real-time SDR platform that CSMA, widely adopted in robotic communications, suffers severe degradation under high robot traffic loads, with contention-induced collisions and delays disrupting the on-time arrival of mission-critical packets. To address this problem, we propose an IEEE 802.11-compatible hybrid TDMA/CSMA protocol that combines TDMA's deterministic slot scheduling with CSMA's adaptability for heterogeneous robot traffic. The protocol achieves collision-free, low-latency mission-critical command delivery and IEEE 802.11 compatibility through the synergistic integration of sub-microsecond PTP-based slot synchronization-essential for establishing precise timing for TDMA, a three-session superframe with dynamic TDMA allocation for structured and adaptable traffic management, and beacon-NAV protection to preemptively secure these critical communication sessions from interference. Emulation experiments on real-time SDR testbed and Robot Operating System (ROS) simulation show that the proposed protocol reduces missed-deadline errors by 93% compared to the CSMA baseline. In high-speed robot path-tracking ROS simulations, the protocol lowers Root Mean Square (RMS) trajectory error by up to 90% compared with a CSMA baseline, all while maintaining throughput for non-critical traffic within +-2%.

IndusGCC: A Data Benchmark and Evaluation Framework for GUI-Based General Computer Control in Industrial Automation

As Industry 4.0 progresses, flexible manufacturing has become a cornerstone of modern industrial systems, with equipment automation playing a pivotal role. However, existing control software for industrial equipment, typically reliant on graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that require human interactions such as mouse clicks or screen touches, poses significant barriers to the adoption of code-based equipment automation. Recently, Large Language Model-based General Computer Control (LLM-GCC) has emerged as a promising approach to automate GUI-based operations. However, industrial settings pose unique challenges, including visually diverse, domain-specific interfaces and mission-critical tasks demanding high precision. This paper introduces IndusGCC, the first dataset and benchmark tailored to LLM-GCC in industrial environments, encompassing 448 real-world tasks across seven domains, from robotic arm control to production line configuration. IndusGCC features multimodal human interaction data with the equipment software, providing robust supervision for GUI-level code generation. Additionally, we propose a novel evaluation framework with functional and structural metrics to assess LLM-generated control scripts. Experimental results on mainstream LLMs demonstrate both the potential of LLM-GCC and the challenges it faces, establishing a strong foundation for future research toward fully automated factories. HunyuanVideo-Foley: Multimodal Diffusion with Representation Alignment for High-Fidelity Foley Audio Generation

Recent advances in video generation produce visually realistic content, yet the absence of synchronized audio severely compromises immersion. To address key challenges in video-to-audio generation, including multimodal data scarcity, modality imbalance and limited audio quality in existing methods, we propose HunyuanVideo-Foley, an end-to-end text-video-to-audio framework that synthesizes high-fidelity audio precisely aligned with visual dynamics and semantic context. Our approach incorporates three core innovations: (1) a scalable data pipeline curating 100k-hour multimodal datasets through automated annotation; (2) a representation alignment strategy using self-supervised audio features to guide latent diffusion training, efficiently improving audio quality and generation stability; (3) a novel multimodal diffusion transformer resolving modal competition, containing dual-stream audio-video fusion through joint attention, and textual semantic injection via cross-attention. Comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that HunyuanVideo-Foley achieves new state-of-the-art performance across audio fidelity, visual-semantic alignment, temporal alignment and distribution matching. LLMind 2.0: Distributed IoT Automation with Natural Language M2M Communication and Lightweight LLM Agents

Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) have generated great interest in their applications for IoT automation and device management. However, centralized approaches struggle to scale across heterogeneous, large-scale systems. We present LLMind 2.0, a distributed framework that embeds lightweight LLM-empowered device agents and adopts natural language for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. In LLMind 2.0, a central coordinator translates human instructions into natural-language subtask descriptions, which instruct distributed device agents to generate device-specific code locally based on their proprietary APIs. Using natural language as a unified medium overcomes device heterogeneity and enables seamless device collaboration. LLMind 2.0 integrates: 1) a timeout-based deadlock avoidance protocol that coordinates distributed subtask executions, 2) a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) mechanism for precise subtask-to-API mapping, and 3) fine-tuned lightweight LLMs for reliable, device-specific code generation. Experiments in multi-robot warehouse operations and Wi Fi network deployments show LLMind 2.0 improved scalability, reliability, and responsiveness compared to centralized baselines.

MPE-TTS: Customized Emotion Zero-Shot Text-To-Speech Using Multi-Modal Prompt

Most existing Zero-Shot Text-To-Speech(ZS-TTS) systems generate the unseen speech based on single prompt, such as reference speech or text descriptions, which limits their flexibility. We propose a customized emotion ZS-TTS system based on multi-modal prompt. The system disentangles speech into the content, timbre, emotion and prosody, allowing emotion prompts to be provided as text, image or speech. To extract emotion information from different prompts, we propose a multi-modal prompt emotion encoder. Additionally, we introduce an prosody predictor to fit the distribution of prosody and propose an emotion consistency loss to preserve emotion information in the predicted prosody. A diffusion-based acoustic model is employed to generate the target mel-spectrogram. Both objective and subjective experiments demonstrate that our system outperforms existing systems in terms of naturalness and similarity. Spin-to-charge conversion in orthorhombic RhSi topological semimetal crystalline thin films

The rise of non-magnetic topological semimetals, which provide a promising platform for observing and controlling various spin-orbit effects, has led to significant advancements in the field of topological spintronics. RhSi exists in two distinct polymorphs: cubic and orthorhombic crystal structures. The noncentrosymmetric B20 cubic structure has been extensively studied for hosting unconventional multifold fermions. In contrast, the orthorhombic structure, which crystallizes in the Pnma space group (No. 62), remains less explored and belongs to the family of topological Dirac semimetals. In this work, we investigate the structural, magnetic, and electrical properties of RhSi textured-epitaxial films grown on Si(111) substrates, which crystallize in the orthorhombic structure. We investigate the efficiency of pure spin current transport across RhSi/permalloy interfaces and the subsequent spin-to-charge current conversion via inverse spin Hall effect measurements. The xperimentally determined spin Hall conductivity in orthorhombic RhSi reaches a maximum value of 126 ($\hbar$/e)($\Omega$.cm)$^{-1}$ at 10 K, which aligns reasonably well with first-principles calculations that attribute the spin Hall effect in RhSi to the spin Berry curvature mechanism. Additionally, we demonstrate the ability to achieve a sizable spin-mixing conductance (34.7 nm$^{-2}$) and an exceptionally high interfacial spin transparency of 88$%$ in this heterostructure, underlining its potential for spin-orbit torque switching applications. Overall, this study broadens the scope of topological spintronics, emphasizing the controlled interfacial spin-transport processes and subsequent spin-to-charge conversion in a previously unexplored topological Dirac semimetal RhSi/ferromagnet heterostructure.

Angle-Resolved Magneto-Chiral Anisotropy in a Non-Centrosymmetric Atomic Layer Superlattice

Chirality in solid-state materials has sparked significant interest due to potential applications of topologically-protected chiral states in next-generation information technology. The electrical magneto-chiral effect (eMChE), arising from relativistic spin-orbit interactions, shows great promise for developing chiral materials and devices for electronic integration. Here we demonstrate an angle-resolved eMChE in an A-B-C-C type atomic-layer superlattice lacking time and space inversion symmetry. We observe non-superimposable enantiomers of left-handed and right-handed tilted uniaxial magnetic anisotropy as the sample rotates under static fields, with the tilting angle reaching a striking 45 degree. Magnetic force microscopy and atomistic simulations correlate the tilt to the emergence and evolution of chiral spin textures. The Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction lock effect in competition with Zeeman effect is demonstrated to be responsible for the angle-resolved eMChE. Our findings open up a new horizon for engineering angle-resolved magneto-chiral anisotropy, shedding light on the development of novel angle-resolved sensing or writing techniques in chiral spintronics.

LLMind: Orchestrating AI and IoT with LLM for Complex Task Execution

Task-oriented communications are an important element in future intelligent IoT systems. Existing IoT systems, however, are limited in their capacity to handle complex tasks, particularly in their interactions with humans to accomplish these tasks. In this paper, we present LLMind, an LLM-based task-oriented AI agent framework that enables effective collaboration among IoT devices, with humans communicating high-level verbal instructions, to perform complex tasks. Inspired by the functional specialization theory of the brain, our framework integrates an LLM with domain-specific AI modules, enhancing its capabilities. Complex tasks, which may involve collaborations of multiple domain-specific AI modules and IoT devices, are executed through a control script generated by the LLM using a Language-Code transformation approach, which first converts language descriptions to an intermediate finite-state machine (FSM) before final precise transformation to code. Furthermore, the framework incorporates a novel experience accumulation mechanism to enhance response speed and effectiveness, allowing the framework to evolve and become progressively sophisticated through continuing user and machine interactions.

Chirality induced spin selectivity in chiral crystals

Chirality is a fundamental property of great importance in physics, chemistry, and biology, and has recently been found to generate unexpected spin polarization for electrons passing through organic molecules, known as chirality-induced spin selectivity (CISS). CISS shows promising application potential in spintronic devices, spin-controlled chemistry, and enantiomer separation. It focuses on organic molecules that exhibit poor electronic conductivity and inherent complexities, such as the debated role of SOC at the molecule-metal interface. In this work, we go beyond organic molecules and study chiral solids with excellent electrical conductivity, intrinsic SOC, and topological electronic structures. We demonstrate that electrons exhibit both spin and orbital polarization as they pass through chiral crystals. Both polarization increases with material thickness before saturating to the bulk values. The spin polarization is proportional to intrinsic SOC while the orbital polarization is insensitive to SOC. The large spin polarization comes with strong electrical magnetochiral anisotropy in the magneto-transport of these chiral crystals (e.g., RhSi). Our work reveals the interplay of chirality, electron spin, and orbital in chiral crystals, paving the way for developing chiral solids for chirality-induced phenomena.

Controllable orbital angular momentum monopoles in chiral topological semimetals

The emerging field of orbitronics aims at generating and controlling currents of electronic orbital angular momentum (OAM) for information processing. Structurally chiral topological crystals could be particularly suitable orbitronic materials because they have been predicted to host topological band degeneracies in reciprocal space that are monopoles of OAM. Around such a monopole, the OAM is locked isotopically parallel or antiparallel to the direction of the electron's momentum, which could be used to generate large and controllable OAM currents. However, OAM monopoles have not yet been directly observed in chiral crystals, and no handle to control their polarity has been discovered. Here, we use circular dichroism in angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (CD-ARPES) to image OAM monopoles in the chiral topological semimetals PtGa and PdGa. Moreover, we also demonstrate that the polarity of the monopole can be controlled via the structural handedness of the host crystal by imaging OAM monopoles and anti-monopoles in the two enantiomers of PdGa, respectively. For most photon energies used in our study, we observe a sign change in the CD-ARPES spectrum when comparing positive and negative momenta along the light direction near the topological degeneracy. This is consistent with the conventional view that CD-ARPES measures the projection of the OAM monopole along the photon momentum. For some photon energies, however, this sign change disappears, which can be understood from our numerical simulations as the interference of polar atomic OAM contributions, consistent with the presence of OAM monopoles. Our results highlight the potential of chiral crystals for orbitronic device applications, and our methodology could enable the discovery of even more complicated nodal OAM textures that could be exploited for orbitronics.

Nonlinear Multi-Carrier System with Signal Clipping: Measurement, Analysis, and Optimization

Signal clipping is a classic technique for reducing peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. It has been widely applied in consumer electronic devices owing to its low complexity and high efficiency. Although clipping reduces the nonlinear distortion caused by power amplifiers (PAs), it induces additional clipping distortion. Optimizing the joint system performance with consideration of both PA nonlinearity and clipping distortion remains an open problem due to the complex PA modeling. In this paper, we analyze the PA nonlinearity through the Bessel-Fourier PA (BFPA) model and simplify its power expression using inter-modulation product (IMP) analysis. We derive expressions of the receiver signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and system symbol error rate (SER) for the nonlinear clipped OFDM system. With the derivations, we investigate the optimal system setting to achieve the SER lower bound in a practical OFDM system that considers both PA nonlinearity and clipping distortion. The methods and results presented in this paper can serve as a useful reference for the system-level optimization of clipped OFDM systems with nonlinear PA.

DCTTS: Discrete Diffusion Model with Contrastive Learning for Text-to-speech Generation

In the Text-to-speech(TTS) task, the latent diffusion model has excellent fidelity and generalization, but its expensive resource consumption and slow inference speed have always been a challenging. This paper proposes Discrete Diffusion Model with Contrastive Learning for Text-to-Speech Generation(DCTTS). The following contributions are made by DCTTS: 1) The TTS diffusion model based on discrete space significantly lowers the computational consumption of the diffusion model and improves sampling speed; 2) The contrastive learning method based on discrete space is used to enhance the alignment connection between speech and text and improve sampling quality; and 3) It uses an efficient text encoder to simplify the model's parameters and increase computational efficiency. The experimental results demonstrate that the approach proposed in this paper has outstanding speech synthesis quality and sampling speed while significantly reducing the resource consumption of diffusion model. Monopole-like orbital-momentum locking and the induced orbital transport in topological chiral semimetals

The interplay between chirality and topology nurtures many exotic electronic properties. For instance, topological chiral semimetals display multifold chiral fermions that manifest nontrivial topological charge and spin texture. They are an ideal playground for exploring chirality-driven exotic physical phenomena. In this work, we reveal a monopole-like orbital-momentum locking texture on the three-dimensional Fermi surfaces of topological chiral semimetals with B20 structures (e.g., RhSi and PdGa). This orbital texture enables a large orbital Hall effect (OHE) and a giant orbital magnetoelectric (OME) effect in the presence of current flow. Different enantiomers exhibit the same OHE which can be converted to the spin Hall effect by spin-orbit coupling in materials. In contrast, the OME effect is chirality-dependent and much larger than its spin counterpart. Our work reveals the crucial role of orbital texture for understanding OHE and OME effects in topological chiral semimetals and paves the path for applications in orbitronics, spintronics, and enantiomer recognition.

Parallel spin-momentum locking in a chiral topological semimetal

Spin-momentum locking in solids describes a directional relationship between the electron's spin angular momentum and its linear momentum over the entire Fermi surface. While orthogonal spin-momentum locking, such as Rashba spin-orbit coupling, has been studied for decades and inspired a vast number of applications, its natural counterpart, the purely parallel spin-momentum locking, has remained elusive in experiments. Recently, chiral topological semimetals that host single- and multifold band crossings have been predicted to realize such parallel locking. Here, we use spin- and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy to probe spin-momentum locking of a multifold fermion in the chiral topological semimetal PtGa via the spin-texture of its topological Fermi-arc surface states. We find that the electron spin of the Fermi-arcs points orthogonal to their Fermi surface contour for momenta close to the projection of the bulk multifold fermion, which is consistent with parallel spin-momentum locking of the latter. We anticipate that our discovery of parallel spin-momentum locking of multifold fermions will lead to the integration of chiral topological semimetals in novel spintronic devices, and the search for spin-dependent superconducting and magnetic instabilities in these materials.
