Nuclear magnetization distribution and hyperfine splitting in Bi$^{82+}$ ion

Hyperfine splitting in Bi$^{82+}$ and Pb$^{81+}$ ions was calculated using continuum RPA approach with effective residual forces. To fix the parameters of the theory the nuclear magnetic dipole moments of two one- particle and two one-hole nuclei around $^{208}$Pb were calculated using the same approach. The contribution from velocity dependent two-body spin- orbit residual interaction was calculated explicitly. Additionally, the octupole moment of $^{209}$Bi and the hfs in muonic bismuth atom were calculated as well in the same approach. All the calculated observables, except the electronic hfs in $^{209}$Bi, are in good agreement with the data. We argue for more accurate measurement of the octupole moment and the muonic hfs for $^{209}$Bi.

Quadrupole interaction of relativistic quantum particle with external fields

We consider the motion of a spinning relativistic particle with an arbitrary value of spin in external electromagnetic and gravitational fields, to first order in the external field. We use the noncovariant description of spin. An explicit expression is obtained for the interaction of second order in spin. The value of the quadrupole moment is found for which this interaction decreases when the energy grows.

Nucleon Polarizability Contribution to the Hydrogen Lamb Shift and Hydrogen -- Deuterium Isotope Shift

The correction to the hydrogen Lamb shift due to the proton electric and magnetic polarizabilities is expressed analytically through their static values, which are known from experiment. The numerical value of the correction to the hydrogen 1S state is $ - 71 \pm 11 \pm 7$ Hz. Correction to the H-D 1S-2S -- isotope shift due to the proton and neutron polarizabilities is estimated as $ 53 \pm 9 \pm 11$ Hz.
