A Fock space approach to representation theory of osp(2|2n)

A Fock space is introduced that admits an action of a quantum group of type A supplemented with some extra operators. The canonical and dual canonical basis of the Fock space are computed and then used to derive the finite-dimenisonal tilting and irreducible characters for the Lie superalgebra osp(2|2n). We also determine all the composition factors of the symmetric tensors of the natural osp(2|2n)-module.

Dual canonical bases for the quantum general linear supergroup

Dual canonical bases of the quantum general linear supergroup are constructed which are invariant under the multiplication of the quantum Berezinian. By setting the quantum Berezinian to identity, we obtain dual canonical bases of the quantum special linear supergroup ${\s O}_q(SL_{m\mid n})$. We apply the canonical bases to study invariant subalgebras of the quantum supergroups under left and right translations. In the case $n=1$, it is shown that each invariant subalgebra is spanned by a part of the dual canonical bases. This in turn leads to dual canonical bases for any Kac module constructed by using an analogue of Borel-Weil theorem.

Dual canonical bases for the quantum special linear group and invariant subalgebras

A string basis is constructed for each subalgebra of invariants of the function algebra on the quantum special linear group. By analyzing the string basis for a particular subalgebra of invariants, we obtain a ``canonical basis'' for every finite dimensional irreducible $U_q({\mathfrak{sl}}(n))$-module. It is also shown that the algebra of functions on any quantum homogeneous space is generated by quantum minors.

Resolution of the GL(3) - O(3) state labelling problem via O(3)-invariant Bethe subalgebra of the twisted Yangian

The labelling of states of irreducible representations of GL(3) in an O(3) basis is well known to require the addition of a single O(3)-invariant operator, to the standard diagonalisable set of Casimir operators in the subgroup chain GL(3) - O(3) - O(2). Moreover, this `missing label' operator must be a function of the two independent cubic and quartic invariants which can be constructed in terms of the angular momentum vector and the quadrupole tensor. It is pointed out that there is a unique (in a well-defined sense) combination of these which belongs to the O(3) invariant Bethe subalgebra of the twisted Yangian Y(GL(3);O(3)) in the enveloping algebra of GL(3).

Character and dimension formulae for general linear superalgebra

The generalized Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for the finite dimensional irreducible representations of the general linear superalgebra are computed explicitly. Using the result we establish a one to one correspondence between the set of composition factors of an arbitrary $r$-fold atypical $gl_{m|n}$-Kac-module and the set of composition factors of some $r$-fold atypical $gl_{r|r}$-Kac-module. The result of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials is also applied to prove a conjectural character formula put forward by van der Jeugt et al in the late 80s. We simplify this character formula to cast it into the Kac-Weyl form, and derive from it a closed formula for the dimension of any finite dimensional irreducible representation of the general linear superalgebra.

Cohomology of Lie superalgebras $sl_{m|n}$ and $osp_{2|2n}$

We explicitly compute the first and second cohomology groups of the classical Lie superalgebras $sl_{m|n}$ and $osp_{2|2n}$ with coefficients in the finite dimensional irreducible modules and the Kac modules. We also show that the second cohomology groups of these Lie superalgebras with coefficients in the respective universal enveloping algebras (under the adjoint action) vanish. The latter result in particular implies that the universal enveloping algebras $U(sl_{m|n})$ and $U(osp_{2|2n})$ do not admit any non-trivial formal deformations of Gerstenhaber type.

Quasi-finite representations, free field realizations, and character formulae of Lie superalgebras of infinite rank

We classify the quasi-finite irreducible highest weight modules over the infinite rank Lie superalgebras $\hgltwo$, $\hC$ and $\hD$, and determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for quasi-finite irreducible highest weight modules to be unitarizable with respect to natural $\ast$-structures of the Lie superalgebras. The unitarizable irreducible modules are constructed in terms of Fock spaces of free quantum fields, and explicit formulae for their formal characters are also obtained by investigating Howe dualities between the infinite rank Lie superalgebras and classical Lie groups.

Quantum superalgebra representations on cohomology groups of non-commutative bundles

Quantum homogeneous supervector bundles arising from the quantum general linear supergoup are studied. The space of holomorphic sections is promoted to a left exact covariant functor from a category of modules over a quantum parabolic sub-supergroup to the category of locally finite modules of the quantum general linear supergroup. The right derived functors of this functor provides a form of Dolbeault cohomology for quantum homogeneous supervector bundles. We explicitly compute the cohomology groups, which are given in terms of well understood modules over the quantized universal enveloping algebra of the general linear superalgebra.

Howe Duality and Combinatorial Character Formula for Orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras

We study the Howe dualities involving the reductive dual pairs $(O(d),spo(2m|2n))$ and $(Sp(d),osp(2m|2n))$ on the (super)symmetric tensor of $\C^d\otimes\C^{m|n}$. We obtain complete decompositions of this space with respect to their respective joint actions. We also use these dualities to derive a character formula for these irreducible representations of $spo(2m|2n)$ and $osp(2m|2n)$ that appear in these decompositions.

Character Formula for Infinite Dimensional Unitarizable Modules of the General Linear Superalgebra

The Fock space of $m+p$ bosonic and $n+q$ fermionic quantum oscillators forms a unitarizable module of the general linear superalgebra $gl_{m+p|n+q}$. Its tensor powers decompose into direct sums of infinite dimensional irreducible highest weight $gl_{m+p|n+q}$-modules. We obtain an explicit decomposition of any tensor power of this Fock space into irreducibles, and develop a character formula for the irreducible $gl_{m+p|n+q}$-modules arising in this way.

Integration on Lie supergroups. A Hopf superalgebra approach

For a large class of finite-dimensional Lie superalgebras (including the classical simple ones) a Lie supergroup associated to the algebra is defined by fixing the Hopf superalgebra of functions on the supergroup. Then it is shown that on this Hopf superalgebra there exists a non-zero left integral. According to a recent work by the authors, this integral is unique up to scalar multiples.

Invariant integration on classical and quantum Lie supergroups

Invariant integrals on Hopf superalgebras, in particular, the classical and quantum Lie supergroups, are studied. The uniqueness (up to scalar multiples) of a left integral is proved, and a super version of Maschke's theorem is discussed. A construction of left integrals is developed for classical and quantum Lie supergroups. Applied to several classes of examples the construction yields the left integrals in explicit form.

Characters and composition factor multiplicities for the Lie superalgebra gl(m/n)

The multiplicities a_{lambda,mu} of simple modules L(mu) in the composition series of Kac modules V(lambda) for the Lie superalgebra gl(m/n) were described by Serganova, leading to her solution of the character problem for gl(m/n). In Serganova's algorithm all mu with nonzero a_{lambda,mu} are determined for a given lambda; this algorithm turns out to be rather complicated. In this Letter a simple rule is conjectured to find all nonzero a_{lambda,mu} for any given weight mu. In particular, we claim that for an r-fold atypical weight mu there are 2^r distinct weights lambda such that a_{lambda,mu}=1, and a_{lambda,mu}=0 for all other weights lambda. Some related properties on the multiplicities a_{lambda,mu} are proved, and arguments in favour of our main conjecture are given. Finally, an extension of the conjecture describing the inverse of the matrix of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials is discussed.

Comments on the Noncommutative Geometry of Quantum Homogeneous Vector Bundles

Differential calculi are obtained for quantum homogeneous spaces by extending Woronowicz' approach to the present context. Representation theoretical properties of the differential calculi are investigated. Connections on quantum homogeneous vector bundles are classified and explicitly constructed by using the theory of projective modules.

Cohomology of Lie superalgebras and of their generalizations

The cohomology groups of Lie superalgebras and, more generally, of color Lie algebras, are introduced and investigated. The main emphasis is on the case where the module of coefficients is non-trivial. Two general propositions are proved, which help to calculate the cohomology groups. Several examples are included to show the peculiarities of the super case. For L = sl(1|2), the cohomology groups H^1(L,V) and H^2(L,V), with V a finite-dimensional simple graded L-module, are determined, and the result is used to show that H^2(L,U(L)) (with U(L) the enveloping algebra of L) is trivial. This implies that the superalgebra U(L) does not admit of any non-trivial formal deformations (in the sense of Gerstenhaber). Garland's theory of universal central extensions of Lie algebras is generalized to the case of color Lie algebras.
