General Construction of Nonstandard $R_h$-matrices as Contraction Limits of $R_{q}$-matrices

A class of transformations of $R_q$-matrices is introduced such that the $q\to 1$ limit gives explicit nonstandard $R_{h}$-matrices. The transformation matrix is singular itself at $q\to 1$ limit. For the transformed matrix, the singularities, however, cancel yielding a well-defined construction. Our method can be implemented systematically for R-matrices of all dimensions and not only for $sl(2)$ but also for algebras of higher dimensions. Explicit constructions are presented starting with ${\cal U}_q(sl(2))$ and ${\cal U}_q(sl(3))$, while choosing $R_q$ for (fund. rep.)$\otimes$(arbitrary irrep.). The treatment for the general case and various perspectives are indicated. Our method yields nonstandard deformations along with a nonlinear map of the $h$-Borel subalgebra on the corresponding classical Borel subalgebra. For ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$ this map is extended to the whole algebra and compared with another one proposed by us previously.

Combined (q,h)-Deformation as a Nonlinear Map on $U_q(sl(2))$

The generators $(J_{\pm}, J_0)$ of the algebra $U_q(sl(2))$ is our starting point. An invertible nonlinear map involving, apart from q, a second arbitrary complex parameter h, defines a triplet $({\hat X},{\hat Y},{\hat H})$. The latter set forms a closed algebra under commutation relations. The nonlinear algebra $U_{q,h}(sl(2))$, thus generated, has two different limits. For $q \to 1$, the Jordanian h-deformation $U_{h}(sl(2))$ is obtained. For $h \to 0$, the q-deformed algebra $U_{q}(sl(2))$ is reproduced. From the nonlinear map, the irreducible representations of the doubly-deformed algebra $U_{q,h}(sl(2))$ may be directly and explicitly obtained form the known representations of the algebra $U_q(sl(2))$. Here we consider only generic values of q.

Irreducible Representations of Jordanian Quantum Algebra ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$ Via a Nonlinear Map

The generators of the Jordanian quantum algebra ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$ are expressed as nonlinear invertible functions of the classical $sl(2)$ generators. This permits immediate explicit construction of the finite dimensional irreducible representations of the algebra ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$. Using this construction, new finite dimensional solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation may be obtained.

On ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$, ${\cal U}_h(e(3))$ and their Representations

By solving a set of recursion relations for the matrix elements of the ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$ generators, the finite dimensional highest weight representations of the algebra were obtained as factor representations. Taking a nonlinear combination of the generators of the two copies of the ${\cal U}_h(sl(2))$ algebra, we obtained ${\cal U}_h(so(4))$ algebra. The latter, on contraction, yields ${\cal U}_h(e(3))$ algebra. A nonlinear map of ${\cal U}_h(e(3))$ algebra on its classical analogue $e(3)$ was obtained. The inverse mapping was found to be singular. It signifies a physically interesting situation, where in the momentum basis, a restricted domain of the eigenvalues of the classical operators is mapped on the whole real domain of the eigenvalues of the deformed operators.

The dual $(p,q)$-Alexander-Conway Hopf algebras and the associated universal ${\cal T}$-matrix

The dually conjugate Hopf algebras $Fun_{p,q}(R)$ and $U_{p,q}(R)$ associated with the two-parametric $(p,q)$-Alexander-Conway solution $(R)$ of the Yang-Baxter equation are studied. Using the Hopf duality construction, the full Hopf structure of the quasitriangular enveloping algebra $U_{p,q}(R)$ is extracted. The universal ${\cal T}$-matrix for $Fun_{p,q}(R)$ is derived. While expressing an arbitrary group element of the quantum group characterized by the noncommuting parameters in a representation independent way, the ${\cal T}$-matrix generalizes the familiar exponential relation between a Lie group and its Lie algebra. The universal ${\cal R}$-matrix and the FRT matrix generators, $L^{(\pm )}$, for $U_{p,q}(R)$ are derived from the ${\cal T}$-matrix.

Finite-dimensional Calogero representation of the $q$-differential operator

A finite-dimensional matrix representation of the Jackson $q$-differential operator $D_q$, defined by $D_qf(x)$ $=$ $(f(qx)-f(x))/(x(q-1))$, is written down following Calogero. Such a representation of $D_q$ should have applications in $q$-analysis leading to the corresponding extensions of the numerous results of Calogero's work.

On a nonstandard two-parametric quantum algebra and its connections with $U_{p,q}(gl(2))$ and $U_{p,q}(gl(1|1))$

A quantum algebra $U_{p,q}(ζ,H,X_\pm )$ associated with a nonstandard $R$-matrix with two deformation parameters$(p,q)$ is studied and, in particular, its universal ${\cal R}$-matrix is derived using Reshetikhin's method. Explicit construction of the $(p,q)$-dependent nonstandard $R$-matrix is obtained through a coloured generalized boson realization of the universal ${\cal R}$-matrix of the standard $U_{p,q}(gl(2))$ corresponding to a nongeneric case. General finite dimensional coloured representation of the universal ${\cal R}$-matrix of $U_{p,q}(gl(2))$ is also derived. This representation, in nongeneric cases, becomes a source for various $(p,q)$-dependent nonstandard $R$-matrices. Superization of $U_{p,q}(ζ, H,X_\pm )$ leads to the super-Hopf algebra $U_{p,q}(gl(1|1))$. A contraction procedure then yields a $(p,q)$-deformed super-Heisenberg algebra $U_{p,q}(sh(1))$ and its universal ${\cal R}$-matrix.

On the Hopf structure of $U_{p,q}(gl(1|1))$ and the universal ${\cal T}$-matrix of $Fun_{p,q}(GL(1|1))$

Using the technique developed by Fronsdal and Galindo (Lett. Math. Phys. 27 (1993) 57) for studying the Hopf duality between the quantum algebras $Fun_{p,q}(GL(2))$ and $U_{p,q}(gl(2))$, the Hopf structure of $U_{p,q}(gl(1|1))$, dual to $Fun_{p,q}(GL(1|1))$, is derived and the corresponding universal ${\cal T}$-matrix of $Fun_{p,q}(GL(1|1))$, embodying the suitably modified exponential relationship $U_{p,q}(gl(1|1))$ $\rightarrow$ $Fun_{p,q}(GL(1|1))$, is obtained.
