Dark matter in Inert Doublet Model with one scalar singlet and $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry

We study Dark Matter (DM) abundance in the framework of the extension of the Standard Model (SM) with an additional $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry. One complex singlet is included to break the $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry, meanwhile one of the doublets is considered inert to introduce a DM candidate. The stability of the DM candidate is analyzed with a continuous $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry as well as discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. We find allowed regions for the free model parameters which are in agreement with the most up-to-date experimental results reported by CMS and ATLAS collaborations, the upper limit on WIMP-nucleon cross section imposed by XENON1T collaboration and the upper limit on the production cross-section of a $Z^{\prime}$ gauge boson times the branching ratio of the $Z^{\prime}$ boson decaying into $\ell^-\ell^+$. We also obtain allowed regions for the DM candidate mass from the relic density reported by the PLANCK collaboration including light, intermediate and heavy masses; depending mainly on two parameters of the scalar potential, $λ_{2x}$ and $λ_{345}=λ_3+λ_4+2λ_5$. We find that trough $pp\rightarrow χχγ$ production, it may only be possible for a future hadron-hadron Circular Collider (FCC-hh) to be able to detect a DM candidate within the range of masses 10-60 GeV.

Dirac's reduction of linearized gravity in $N > 2$ dimensions revisited

We perform a brief review on Dirac's procedure applied to the well known Einstein's linearized gravity in $N > 2$ dimensions. Considering it as a gauge theory and therefore the manifestation of second class constraints in analogy with the electromagnetic case, focussing our interest in the Coulomb's gauge. We also check the consistency with the Maskawa-Nakajima reduction procedure and end with some remarks on both procedures.

Top quark Chromoelectric and Chromomagnetic Dipole Moments in a Two Higgs Doublet Model with CP violation

In this work we study the anomalous top quark-gluon couplings Chromoelectric Dipole Moment (CEDM) and Chromomagnetic Dipole Moment (CMDM) in a general THDM with CP violation. We find that this model provides an important contribution from the $Y_{tt}$ Yukawa coupling that needs to be taken into account. The CMDM and CEDM obtained are $-0.03<Δ\tilde{k} < 0.005}$ and $|Δ\tilde{d}| < 0.005$, respectively.

Singlet scalar Dark Matter in Dark Two Higgs Doublet Model

We consider the case of the Dark Two Higgs Doublet Model (D2HDM) where a $U(1)'$ symmetry group and an extra Higgs doublet are added to the Standard Model. This model leads to a gauge singlet particle as an interesting Dark Matter (DM) candidate. We obtain phenomenological constraints to the parameter space of the model considering the one necessary to produce the correct density of thermal relic dark matter $Ωh^2$. We find a relation between the masses of the DM matter candidate $m_S$ and $m_{Z'}$ that satisfy the relic density for given values of $\tanβ$.

Neutrino mixing and masses in a left-right model with mirror fermions

In the framework of a left-right model containing mirror fermions with gauge group SU(3)$_{C} \otimes SU(2)_{L} \otimes SU(2)_{R} \otimes U(1)_{Y^\prime}$, we estimate the neutrino masses, which are found to be consistent with their experimental bounds and hierarchy. We evaluate the decay rates of the Lepton Flavor Violation (LFV) processes $μ\rightarrow e γ$, $τ\rightarrow μγ$ and $τ\rightarrow eγ$. We obtain upper limits for the flavor-changing branching ratios in agreement with their present experimental bounds. We also estimate the decay rates of heavy Majorana neutrinos in the channels $N \rightarrow W^{\pm} l^{\mp}$, $N \rightarrow Z ν_{l}$ and $N \rightarrow H ν_{l}$, which are roughly equal for large values of the heavy neutrino mass. Starting from the most general Majorana neutrino mass matrix, the smallness of active neutrino masses turns out from the interplay of the hierarchy of the involved scales and the double application of seesaw mechanism. An appropriate parameterization on the structure of the neutrino mass matrix imposing a symmetric mixing of electron neutrino with muon and tau neutrinos leads to Tri-bimaximal mixing matrix for light neutrinos.

2D massless QED Hall half-integer conductivity and graphene

Starting from the photon self-energy tensor in a magnetized medium, the 3D complete antisymmetric form of the conductivity tensor is found in the static limit of a fermion system $C$ non-invariant under fermion-antifermion exchange. The massless relativistic 2D fermion limit in QED is derived by using the compactification along the dimension parallel to the magnetic field. In the static limit and at zero temperature the main features of quantum Hall effect (QHE) are obtained: the half-integer QHE and the minimum value proportional to $e^2/h$ for the Hall conductivity . For typical values of graphene the plateaus of the Hall conductivity are also reproduced.

Rare top quark decays in extended models

Flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) decays t to H + c, t to Z + c, and H to t + bar{c} are discussed in the context of Alternative Left-Right symmetric Models (ALRM) with extra isosinglet heavy fermions where FCNC decays may take place at tree-level and are only suppressed by the mixing between ordinary top and charm quarks, which is poorly constraint by current experimental values. The non-manifest case is also briefly discussed.

Rare top quark and Higgs boson decays in Alternative Left-Right Symmetric Models

Top quark and Higgs boson decays induced by flavor-changing neutra currents (FCNC) are very much suppressed in the Standard Model (SM). Their detection in colliders like the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), Next Linear Collider (NLC) or Tevatron would be a signal of new physics. We evaluate the FCNC decays t \to H^0 + c, t \to Z + c, and H^0 \to t + {\bar c} in the context of Alternative Left-Right symmetric Models (ALRM) with extra isosinglet heavy fermions; in this case, FCNC decays occurs at tree-level and they are only suppressed by the mixing between ordinary top and charm quarks, which is poorly constraint by current experimental values. This provides the possibility for future colliders, either to detect new physics, or to improve present bounds on the parameters of the model.

New Higgs signals induced by mirror fermion mixing effects

We study the conditions under which flavor violation arises in scalar-fermion interactions, as a result of the mixing phenomena between the standard model and exotic fermions. Phenomenological consequences are discussed within the specific context of a left-right model where these additional fermions have mirror properties under the new SU(2)_R gauge group. Bounds on the parameters of the model are obtained from LFV processes; these results are then used to study the LFV Higgs decays (H --> tau l_j, l_j = e, mu), which reach branching ratios that could be detected at future colliders.

Effective Magnetic Moment of Neutrinos in Strong Magnetic Fields

We compute the effective magnetic moment of neutrino in the highly dense and strongly magnetized media. It is shown that this magnetic moment is generated due to the effective mass of neutrino and gives sufficiently high value of the magnetic moment in the core of neutron stars.

Lepton mass generation and family number violation mechanism in the $SU(6)\otimes U(1)$ model

Lepton family number violation processes arise in the $SU(6)_L \otimes U(1)_Y$ model due to the presence of an extra neutral gauge boson, Z$'$, with family changing couplings, and due to the fact that this model demands the existence of heavy exotic leptons. The mixing of the standard Z with Z$'$ and the mixing of ordinary leptons with exotic ones induce together family changing couplings on the Z and therefore nonvanishing rates for lepton family number violation processes, such as $Z \to e \barμ$, $μ\to ee\bar{e}$ and $μ\to eγ$. Additional contributions to the processes $μ\to e γ$ and $μ\to ee \bar{e}$ are induced from the mass generation mechanism. This last type of contributions may compete with the above one, depending on the masses of the scalars which participate in the diagrams which generate radiatively the masses of the charged leptons. Using the experimental data we compute some bounds for the mixings parameters and for the masses of the scalars.
