Proton induced reactions on 118Sn target at energies up to 18 MeV

Proton-induced reactions on enriched 118Sn up to 18 MeV have been investigated. Using the stacked-foil activation technique, the excitation functions of the reactions 118Sn(p,n)118Sb, 118Sn(p,2n)117Sb, 118Sn(p,α)115mIn, and 118Sn(p,x)117mSn were measured. The available experimental data show good agreement with our measurements. The cross sections for the 118Sn(p,x)117mSn and 118Sn(p,α)115mIn reactions are reported for the first time. The measured cross sections were compared not only with previously published experimental results, but also with theoretical predictions from the TENDL-2023 (TALYS-based evaluated nuclear data library), TENDL-2025 and JENDL-5 (Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Library) libraries. Discrepancies between experimental and theoretical data were observed for reactions involving composite-particle emission, such as alpha particles and deuterons. These differences suggest that while current models adequately describe simple two-nucleon emission channels, further refinements are needed, particularly for modeling composite-particle emission at lower proton energies.

Proton induced reactions on 114Sn and 120Sn targets at energies up to 18 MeV

We measure cross sections of proton-induced reactions on tin up to energies of 18 MeV using the stacked-foil activation technique, and report first experimental values for 114Sn(p,α)111In, {^{120}}Sn(p,α)117gIn, and 114Sn(p,x)113Sn reactions. Measured cross sections have been compared to existing experimental values and numerical calculations based on Talys1.95. Our data are in good agreement with all previous experiments, and also with Talys1.95 results except for 120Sn(p,α)117m,gIn reactions where the numerical calculations are shifted to higher energies. We also measure isomeric cross section ratios for 117m,gIn and 120m,gSb pairs as functions of the incident proton energy.

Measurement of average cross sections and isomeric ratios for natRe(γ,xn) photonuclear reactions at the end-point bremsstrahlung energies of 30 MeV and 40 MeV

The cross sections for (γ,xn) reactions at 30 MeV and 40 MeV bremsstrahlung end-point energies on natural rhenium (natRe) targets have been measured by the activation and the off-line γ-ray spectrometric techniques using a High Purity Germanium detector (HPGe). The measured natRe(γ,xn) reaction cross sections were compared to the theoretically calculated cross sections using TALYS 1.9 and EMPIRE 3.2 computer codes. The measurements allowed the determination of the Isomeric Cross section Ratios (ICR) for the 184m,g Re and 182m,gRe isomeric pairs. In addition, we have determined a semi-empirical value for the 186m,gRe isomeric pair. These results for the 30 MeV and 40 MeV end-point bremsstrahlung energies are obtained for the first time.
