Pairs of diagonal quadratic forms and linear correlations among sums of two squares

For suitable pairs of diagonal quadratic forms in 8 variables we use the circle method to investigate the density of simultaneous integer solutions and relate this to the problem of estimating linear correlations among sums of two squares.

Rational points on singular intersections of quadrics

Given a projective intersection of two quadrics X in at least 9 variables, the quantitative behaviour of the rational points on X is investigated under the assumption that X contains a pair of conjugate singular points defined over the Gaussians.
