Isotopic shift and search of magic number in the superheavy region

The ground state bulk properties such as binding energy, root-mean-square radius, pairing energy, nuclear density distributions, and single-particle energies are calculated for the isotopic chain of Ca, Sn, Pb, and Z = 120 nuclei. The relativistic mean-field with recently developed G3, IOPB-1, and Relativistic-Hartree-Bogoliubov with density-dependent DD-ME1 and DD-ME2 parameter sets are used in the present analysis. The respective shifts over the isotopic chain for the structural observables and surface property like symmetry energy are also estimated using a three-point method, which is crucial for the systematic analysis of the shell/sub-shell closure. The calculated results are compared with the available experimental data for various bulk properties, wherever available. A multiple isotopic shifts leads to the shell/sub-shell closure at N = (20 \& 28), (50 \& 82), and 126 for Ca, Sn, and Pb isotopes, respectively, are observed. The analysis also supports the neutron magic at N = 40 and 184 for highly neutron-rich $^{60}$Ca, and $^{304}$120, predicted to be the next double magic beyond $^{208}$Pb, respectively. Observing the occupancy number, we notice the higher neutron orbitals are mostly occupied before the lower one, which causes the kinks at neutron magic with an amalgam in the isotopic chain trend above nuclei. We also notice the correlation between the occupation probabilities and the magicity of a nucleus and vice-versa.

Evidence of a proton halo in $^{23}$Al: A mean field analysis

We have studied the nuclear structure properties like binding energy, charge radius, quadrupole deformation parameter for various isotopes of Al from the valley of stability to drip line region using the well known relativistic mean field formalism (RMF) with NL3 parameter set. We have compared our results with experimental data and found reasonable agreement. Further, we have taken spherical and deformed RMF densities to estimate the reaction dynamics of $^{23-28}$Al isotopes as projectiles and $^{12}$C as target by conjunction in Glauber model. The estimated results are also compared with the experimental data. The analysis of angular elastic differential and one proton removal cross sections are also studied with Glauber model many body system to investigate the structural feature of $^{23}$Al. The evidence of enhanced total reaction cross section, higher value of rms radius, narrow longitudinal momentum distribution and small proton separation energy of $^{23}$Al support its proton halo structure.

Quest of $^{37}Mg$ halo structure using Glauber model and microscopic relativistic mean field densities

We have studied the ground state properties (binding energy and charge radius) using relativistic mean filed formalism (RMF) for Mg-isotopes in the valley of stability to drip line region. The RMF densities have been analyzed in context of reaction dynamics. The calculated results of $^{24-40}$Mg+$^{12}$C reactions at projectile energy 240 AMeV using Glauber model with the conjunction of densities from relativistic mean field formalism are compared with experimental data. We found remarkable agreement of estimated values of reaction cross sections with experimental data except for $^{37}$Mg isotope. In view of this, the halo status of $^{37}$Mg is examined through higher magnitude of rms radius and small value of longitudinal momentum distribution. Finally, an effort is made to explore the structure of $^{37}$Mg halo candidate using Glauber few body formalism.

Reaction and structure effects of light mass nuclei using Glauber model with relativistic and non relativistic simple effective interaction densities

We study the structural properties of some nuclei in the region of light mass using simple effective interaction in the frame work of microscopic non relativistic Hartree-Fock and relativistic mean field formalism. For the reaction dynamics, well known Glauber model is used with the conjunctions of the densities obtained from these formalism. We observe good agreement of results by both the formalism in comparison to the experimental values. These two different approaches seems to be equally capable to reproduce the ground state properties of nuclei in this region. A careful study of reaction dynamics suggest the superiority of relativistic mean field over the Hartree-Fock with simple effective interaction densities. But good agreement of reaction cross section is appeared with simple effective interaction density for halo nuclear systems. The possibility of existence of bubble nuclei are also studied using both the formalism.

Nuclear Structure and Reaction Properties of Ne, Mg and Si Isotopes with RMF Densities

We have studied nuclear structure and reaction properties of Ne, Mg and Si isotopes, using relativistic mean field densities, in the frame work of Glauber model. Total reaction cross section $σ_R$ for Ne isotopes on 12C target have been calculated at incident energy 240 MeV. The results are compared with the experimental data and with the recent theoretical study [W. Horiuchi et al., Phys. Rev. C, 86, 024614 (2012)]. Study of $σ_R$ using deformed densities have shown a good agreement with the data. We have also predicted total reaction cross section $σ_R$ for Ne, Mg and Si isotopes as projectiles and 12C as target at different incident energies.

Application of relativistic mean field and effective field theory density to calculate scattering observables for Ca isotopes

In the frame work of relativistic mean field (RMF) theory, we calculate the density distribution of protons and neutrons for $^{40,42, 44,48}Ca$ with NL3 and G2 parameter sets. The microscopic proton-nucleus optical potential for $p+^{40,42,44,48}Ca$ system is evaluated from Dirac NN-scattering amplitude and the density of the target nucleus using Relativistic-Love-Franey and McNeil-Ray-Wallace parametrizations. Then we estimate the scattering observables, such as elastic differential scattering cross-section, analyzing power and the spin observables with relativistic impulse approximation. We compare the results with the experimental data for some selective cases and found that the use of density as well as the scattering matrix parametrization is crucial for the theoretical prediction.

Structure effect on one neutron removal reaction using relativistic mean field densities in Glauber model

We calculate the one neutron removal reaction cross-section $(σ_{-1n})$ for few stable and neutron-rich halo nuclei with $^{12}$C as target, using relativistic mean field (RMF) densities, in the frame work of Glauber model. The results are compared with the experimental data. Study of the stable nuclei with the deformed densities have shown a good agreement with the data, however, it differs significantly for the halo nuclei. We observe that while estimating the $σ_{-1n}$value from the difference of reaction cross-section of two neighboring nuclei with mass number A and that of A-1 in an isotopic chain, we get good agreement with the known experimental data for the halo cases.

Formation of neutron-rich and superheavy elements in astrophysical objects

We calculate the reaction and the fusion cross-sections of neutron-rich heavy nuclei taking light exotic isotopes as projectiles. Results of neutron-rich Pb and U isotopes are demonstrated as the representative targets and He, B as the projectiles. The Gluaber Model and the Coupled Channel Formalism are used to evaluate the reaction and the fusion cross-sections for the cases considered.Based on the analysis of these cross-sections, we predict the formation of heavy, superheavy and super-superheavy elements through rapid neutron/light nuclei capture r-process of the nucleosynthesis in astrophysical objects.
