Direct versus resolved photons in DPS in photoproduction on proton and nuclei

We study the process of double parton scattering (DPS) associated with the photoproduction at a future Electron-Ion collider (EIC) and HERA. We show that in the case of the resolved photon the 1 to 2 processes lead, even at small transverse momenta of the hard processes , to the increase of the DPS by a factor of order 1.6 in the significant part of the phase space, relative to the predictions of the mean field based models . Moreover we study the kinematic region where direct photon contribution is dominant and show it s boundaries for charm and light quark jets. For charmed jets we see that the relevant region is $x_\gamma\ge 0.2-0.4$. This region is even enhanced if we consider the photoproduction on the nuclei.

Double parton interactions initiated by direct photons in $\gamma p$ and $\gamma A$ collisions revisited

We consider the double parton scattering (DPS) initiated by direct photons in $\gamma p$ and $\gamma A$ collisions. We extend the previously known results for photoproduction to the case of electroproduction with nonzero photon virtuality $Q^2$, and then consider the DPS for both photo and electroproduction for HERA and IEC ( electron ion collider) kinematics. The number of DPS events at IEC is shown to be of the same order as in HERA and is even larger, with increase in luminocity compensating the decrease of the center of mass energy.

Hot Spot model of Nucleon and Double Parton Scattering

We calculate the rate of double parton scattering (DPS) in proton - proton collisions in the framework of the recently proposed hot spot model of the nucleon structure. The resulting rate, especially for the case of three hot spots, appears to be in tension with the current experimental data on DPS at the LHC.

The three point asymmetric cumulants in high multiplicity pp collisions

We study the influence of quantum interference and colour flow on three point correlations described by asymmetric cumulants in high multiplicity events in pp collisions. We use the model previously developed for the study of the collectivity in symmetric cumulants. We show that the resulting three point asymmetric cumulant is in qualitative agreement with the experimental data for the same parameters of the model as it was with the symmetric cumulants. Our results show that the initial state correlations must play a major role and may be even dominant in the explanation of the correlations in high multiplicity pp events.
