Quantum Sequence States

In a recent paper it has been shown how to create a quantum state related to the prime number sequence using Grover's algorithm. Moreover, its multiqubit entanglement was analyzed. In the present work, we compare the multiqubit entanglement of several quantum sequence states as well we study the feasibility of producing such states using Grover's algorithm.

Numerical search for universal entanglers in C3xC4 and C4xC4

A universal entangler is quantum gate able to transform any disentangled state in an entangled state. Although universal entanglers are abundant in arbitrary high dimensional spaces, to verify if a quantum gate is a universal entangler is a hard task since it is not known which property of the unitary matrix is responsible for such behavior. In this direction, the present work shows the results of an algorithm based on differential evolution that tests universal entanglers in C3xC4 and C4xC4. We present two good candidates for each cited space and we show that a candidate found in the literature is not a universal entangler.

Quantum Communication with Continuum Single-Photon Pulses

In this work, we analyze the behavior of continuum single-photon pulses in some quantum communication schemes. In particular, we consider the single-photon interference in a Mach-Zenhder interferometer, the HOM interference and the quantum bit commitment protocol.

Riemannian Quantum Circuit

Number theory is an abstract mathematical field that has found a fertile environment for development in theoretical physics. In particular, several physical systems were related to the zeros of the Riemann-zeta function. In this work we present the theory of a quantum circuit related to a finite number of zeros of the Riemann-zeta function. The existence of such circuit will permit in the future the solution of some number theory problems through the realization of quantum algorithms based on those zeros.

On the role of the basis of measurement in quantum gate teleportation

Quantum teleportation is a powerful protocol with applications in several schemes of quantum communication, quantum cryptography and quantum computing. The present work shows the required conditions for a two-qubit quantum gate to be deterministically and probabilistically teleported by a quantum gate teleportation scheme using different basis of measurement. Additionally, we present examples of teleportation of two-qubit gates that do not belong to Clifford group as well the limitations of the quantum gate teleportation scheme employing a four-qubit state with genuine four-way entanglement.

Asymptotic Quantum Search and a Quantum Algorithm for Calculation of a Lower Bound of the Probability of Finding a Diophantine Equation That Accepts Integer Solutions

Several mathematical problems can be modeled as a search in a database. An example is the problem of finding the minimum of a function. Quantum algorithms for solving this problem have been proposed and all of them use the quantum search algorithm as a subroutine and several intermediate measurements are realized. In this work, it is proposed a new quantum algorithm for finding the minimum of a function in which quantum search is not used as a subroutine and only one measurement is needed. This is also named asymptotic quantum search. As an example, we propose a quantum algorithm based on asymptotic quantum search and quantum counting able to calculate a lower bound of the probability of finding a Diophantine equation with integer solution.

Universal quantum circuit for n-qubit quantum gate: A programmable quantum gate

Quantum computation has attracted much attention, among other things, due to its potentialities to solve classical NP problems in polynomial time. For this reason, there has been a growing interest to build a quantum computer. One of the basic steps is to implement the quantum circuit able to realize a given unitary operation. This task has been solved using decomposition of unitary matrices in simpler ones till reach quantum circuits having only single-qubits and CNOTs gates. Usually the goal is to find the minimal quantum circuit able to solve a given problem. In this paper we go in a different direction. We propose a general quantum circuit able to implement any specific quantum circuit by just setting correctly the parameters. In other words, we propose a programmable quantum circuit. This opens the possibility to construct a real quantum computer where several different quantum operations can be realized in the same hardware. The configuration is proposed and its optical implementation is discussed.
