Notes on Tractor Calculus

These notes present elementary introduction to tractors based on classical examples, together with glimpses towards modern invariant differential calculus related to vast class of Cartan geometries, the so called parabolic geometries.

Generalized Geometries Constructed from Differential Forms on Cotangent Bundle

We investigate the landscape of generalized geometries that can be derived from Monge-Ampère structures. Instead of following the approaches of Banos, Roubtsov, Kosmann-Schwarzbach, and others, we take a new path inspired by the results of Hu, Moraru, and Svoboda. We construct a large family of new generalized almost geometries derived from non-degenerate 2D symplectic Monge-Ampère structures and other related geometric objects, such as complex structures. We demonstrate that, under certain assumptions, non-degenerate Monge-Ampère structures give rise to quadric surfaces of generalized almost geometries. Additionally, we discuss the link between Monge-Ampère structures and Monge-Ampère equations within this framework.

Lectures on Poisson algebras

Poisson algebras have become an essential topic in mathematics with a rich structure and wide applicability. Despite numerous resources available on Poisson structures, the algebraic side of the story remains relatively less explored. This paper presents an extended version of a mini-course given during the virtual Winter School and Workshop "Wisla 20-21." The course covers various aspects of Poisson algebras, focusing on both algebraic and geometric perspectives. While most of the lectures cover established results, the final chapter includes recent classification results on "low rank" double quadratic Poisson brackets.

Generalized Geometry of 2D Incompressible Fluid Flows

We describe a family of generalized almost structures associated with a Monge-Ampère equation for a stream function of 2D incompressible fluid flows. Using an indefinite metric field constructed from a pair of $2$-forms related to the Monge-Ampère equation, we show the existence of generalized metric-compatible structures in our family of generalized structures. The integrability of isotropic structures on the level of Dirac structures and differential forms is discussed.

Pseudo-Riemannian and Hessian Geometry Related to Monge-Ampère Structures

We study properties of pseudo-Riemannian metrics corresponding to Monge-Ampère structures on four-dimensional $T^*M$. We describe a family of Ricci flat solutions, which are parametrized by six coefficients satisfying the Plücker embedding equation. We also focus on pullbacks of the pseudo-metrics on two-dimensional $M$ and describe the corresponding Hessian structures.

Some Remarks on Multisymplectic and Variational Nature of Monge-Ampère Equations in Dimension Four

We describe a necessary condition for the local solvability of the strong inverse variational problem in the context of Monge-Ampère partial differential equations and first-order Lagrangians. This condition is based on comparing effective differential forms on the first jet bundle. To illustrate and apply our approach, we study the linear Klein-Gordon equation, first and second heavenly equations of Plebański, Grant equation, and Husain equation, over a real four-dimensional manifold. Two approaches towards multisymplectic formulation of these equations are described.
