Black Holes and Thermogeometric Optimization

We suggest a finite-time geometric optimization framework to analyze thermal fluctuations and optimal processes in black holes. Our approach implement geodesics in thermodynamic space to define optimal pathways between equilibrium and non-equilibrium states. Since thermodynamic metrics need not be positive-definite, the method ensures a positive thermodynamic length by incorporating simple scale factor into the metric. We show that the scale factor is sensitive to phase transitions in entropy representation, addressing a key gap in Hessian thermodynamic geometry. Additionally, we link the scale factor to the sign of thermodynamic curvature, connecting it to the information geometry governing optimal processes. Our results indicate that optimal fluctuations can drive the evaporation of Schwarzschild and Kerr black holes, which may significantly differ from Hawking radiation. We also explore optimal accretion-driven processes supported by an external inflow of energy.

Entanglement of higher-derivative oscillators in holographic systems

We study the quantum entanglement of coupled Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillators using the formalism of thermo-field dynamics. The entanglement entropy is computed for the specific cases of two and a ring of $N$ coupled Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillators of fourth order. It is shown that the entanglement entropy depends on the temperatures, frequencies and coupling parameters of the different degrees of freedom corresponding to harmonic oscillators. We also make remarks on the appearance of instabilities of higher-derivative oscillators in the context of AdS/CFT correspondence. Finally, we advert to the information geometry theory by calculating the Fisher information metric for the considered system of coupled oscillators.

Notes on entanglement entropy for excites holographic states in 2d

In this work we revisit the problem of contributions of excited holographic states to the entanglement entropy in two-dimensional conformal field theories. Using the results of replica trick method we find three expressions for these contributions. First, we express the contribution of the excited states in terms of Aharonov invariants. It is shown that beside the Schwarzian, the one-point functions of descendants of energy-momentum also contribute. Given Schwarz-Christoffel map, the contributions to any order can be easily computed. The second expression relates the entanglement entropy of excited states to Faber polynomials and Grunsky coefficients. Based on the relation of Grunsky coefficiens to tau-funcion of dispersionless Toda hierarchy, we find the third expression for contributions of excited holographic states to the entanglement entropy.

Non-abelian T-duality of Pilch-Warner background

In this work we obtain the non-abelian T-dual geometry of the well-known Pilch-Warner supergravity solution in its infrared point. We derive the dual metric and the NS two-form by gauging the isometry group of the initial theory and integrating out the introduced auxiliary gauge fields. Then we use the Fourier-Mukai transform from algebraic geometry to find the transformation rules of the R-R fields. The dual background preserves the $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetry of the original one due to the fact that the Killing spinor does not depend on the directions on which the N-AT-D is performed. Finally, we consider two different pp-wave limits of the T-dual geometry by performing Penrose limits for two light-like geodesics.

On semiclassical calculation of three-point functions in AdS_5 \times T^(1,1)

Recently there has been progress on the computation of two- and three-point correlation functions with two "heavy" states via semiclassical methods. We extend this analysis to the case of AdS_5 \times T^(1,1), and examine the suggested procedure for the case of several simple string solutions. By making use of AdS/CFT duality, we derive the relevant correlation functions of operators belonging to the dual gauge theory.

Magnetic Catalysis of Chiral Symmetry Breaking. A Holographic Prospective

We review a recent investigation of the effect of magnetic catalysis of mass generation in holographic Yang-Mills theories. We aim at a self-contained and pedagogical form of the review. We provide a brief field theory background and review the basics of holographic flavordynamics. The main part of the review investigates the influence of external magnetic field on holographic gauge theories dual to the D3/D5-- and D3/D7-- brane intersections. Among the observed phenomena are the spontaneous breaking of a global internal symmetry, Zeeman splitting of the energy levels and the existence of pseudo Goldstone modes. An analytic derivation of the Gell-Mann--Oaks--Renner relation for the D3/D7 set up is reviewed. In the D3/D5 case the pseudo Goldstone modes satisfy non-relativistic dispersion relation. The studies reviewed confirm the universal nature of the magnetic catalysis of mass generation.
