Reply to the "Comment on `Effect of density and nucleon-nucleon potential on the fusion cross section within the relativistic mean field formalism'"

In reply to the Comment made by M. V. Chushnyakova et al. on our paper [Phys. Rev. C 101, 044603 (2020)], we argue that the calculations, results and conclusions of our paper remain valid. We have shown here the calculations for one reaction using the deformed densities and the R3Y nucleon-nucleon potential obtained within the relativistic mean-field (RMF) formalism. Suitable clarications and justifications are given to address all the points raised in the Comment.

Cluster decay dynamics of Actinides yielding non-Pb-daughter

The cluster dynamics of radioactive nuclei decaying to neighbouring daughter nuclei of the double magic $^{132}$Sn and $^{208}$Pb is investigated using the relativistic mean-field (RMF) approach with NL3$^*$ parameter set within the preformed cluster-decay model (PCM). The novel feature of the present study is the application of the newly derived preformation formula, laying the groundwork for accessing the break-up of the Q-value: preformation energy, cluster emission energy and the recoil energy of the daughters formed. The energy associated with cluster preformation is theoretically quantified for the first time. This treatment underscores the shell effect, pairing correlation as well as the blocking of particular orbitals by unpaired nucleons. To ascertain the applicability of the new formula, the PCM based calculations are carried out with nuclear potential obtained using the phenomenological M3Y and microscopic RMF-based R3Y nucleon-nucleon (NN) potentials along with corresponding densities. We found a marginal variation that can be attributed to the difference in their barrier properties, however, the predictions for the case of both M3Y and R3Y potentials are found to agree well with the experimental half-lives. Although none of the considered reaction systems yields a double magic daughter nucleus, we found that the kinematics of their cluster emissions is governed by their proximity to the shell closure. The deduced systematic of the recoil energy in cluster decays can provide valuable insight for the synthesis of elements in superheavy mass region in the future.

Quest for a Universal Cluster Preformation Formula: A new paradigm for estimating the cluster formation energy

This study presents a holistic picture of the preformation of nuclear clusters with credence to the kinematics of their emissions. Besides the fitting of the preformation formula to reproduce the experimental half-lives, we have investigated the interrelationship between the parameters involved in the cluster decay process for medium, heavy and superheavy nuclei. Based on the established conceptual findings, we propose a new cluster preformation probability ($P_0$) formula that incorporates all influential parameters of the cluster radioactivity and thus has an edge over the existing formulae in the literature. Further, we hypothesize that a fraction of the decay energy is needed for cluster formation within the parent nucleus. The proposed formula opens a new paradigm to separately estimate the energy contributed during the cluster formation from its emission and thus shows that the contribution of the Q-value splits into three major parts accounting for the energy contributed during the cluster preformation, its emission and recoil of the daughter nucleus. Moreover, the expression $P_0$ is adept at accommodating the theorized concept of heavy particle radioactivity (HPR). The result reveals that, like $α$-decay, a proper estimation of the $P_0$ and $Q$-value in the cluster studies are enriched with qualitative information about the nuclear structure. However, from the analysis, the Geiger-Nuttall law is not the best compromise in the clustering due to the non-linearity between $\log_{10}T_{1/2}$ and $\sqrt{Q}$, unlike in $α$-decay. We have demonstrated that with the inclusion of the proposed formula, the half-life predictions from both microscopic R3Y and phenomenological M3Y NN potentials closely agree with the available experimental data and that the slight variation can be traced to their peculiar barrier characteristics.

Relativistic Mean Field Model parameterizations in the light of GW170817, GW190814, and PSR J0740 + 6620

Three parameterizations DOPS1, DOPS2, and DOPS3 (named after the Department of Physics Shimla) of the Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) model have been proposed with the inclusion of all possible self and mixed interactions between the scalar-isoscalar (σ), vector-isoscalar (ω) and vector-isovector (ρ) mesons up to quartic order. The generated parameter sets are in harmony with the finite and bulk nuclear matter properties. A set of Equations of State (EOSs) composed of pure hadronic (nucleonic) matter and nucleonic with quark matter (hybrid EOSs) for superdense hadron-quark matter in β-equilibrium is obtained. The quark matter phase is calculated by using the three-flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model. The maximum mass of a non-rotating neutron star with DOPS1 parameterization is found to be around 2.6 M$\odot$ for the pure nucleonic matter which satisfies the recent gravitational wave analysis of GW190814 Abbott et al.,(2020) with possible maximum mass constraint indicating that the secondary component of GW190814 could be a non-rotating heaviest neutron star composed of pure nucleonic matter. EOSs computed with the DOPS2 and DOPS3 parameterizations satisfy the X-Ray observational data and the recent observations of GW170817 maximum mass constraint of a stable non-rotating neutron star in the range 2.01 \pm 0.04 - 2.16 \pm 0.03 M\odot and also in good agreement with constraints on mass and radius measurement for PSR J0740+6620 (NICER) Riley et al., L27 (2021)}, Miller et al., (2021). The hybrid EOSs obtained with the NJL model also satisfy astrophysical constraints on the maximum mass of a neutron star from PSR J1614-2230 and Demorest et al., (2010) .We also present the results for dimensionless tidal deformability, $Λ$ which are consistent with the waveform models analysis of GW170817.

Observational constraint from the heaviest pulsar PSR J0952-0607 on the equation of state of dense matter in relativistic mean field model

In the present work, we constrain the equation of the state of dense matter in the context of heaviest observed neutron star mass M$_{max}$ = 2.35$\pm 0.17$ M$_{\odot}$ for the black widow pulsar PSR J0952-0607. We propose three interactions HPU1, HPU2 and HPU3 (named after Himachal Pradesh University)for the relativistic mean field model which include different combinations of non-linear, self and cross-couplings among isoscalar-scalar $σ$, isoscalar-vector $ω$ and isovector-vector $ρ$ meson fields up to the quartic order. These interactions are in harmony with the finite nuclei and bulk nuclear matter properties. The equations of state computed by using newly generated interactions for the $β$-equilibrated nucleonic matter satisfy the heaviest observed neutron star mass M$_{max}$ = 2.35$\pm 0.17$ M$_{\odot}$ for the black widow pulsar PSR J0952-0607. The results for the radius ($R_{1.4}$) and dimensionless tidal deformability (${Λ_{1.4}}$) corresponding to the canonical mass are also presented and agree well with the GW170817 event and astrophysical observations. The radius of $2.08M_{\odot}$ neutron star mass is predicted to be in the range $R_{2.08}$ = 12.98 -13.09 Km which also satisfies the NICER observations by Miller et al. (2021) and Riley et al.(2021). A covariance analysis is also performed to assess the theoretical uncertainties of model parameters and to determine their correlations with nuclear matter observables.

Relativistic approach for the determination of nuclear and neutron star properties in consideration of PREX-II results

The bulk properties of nuclear matter and neutron stars with the newly generated relativistic interaction DBHP are investigated which provides an opportunity to modify the coupling parameters keeping in view the finite nuclei, nuclear matter, PREX-II data for neutron skin thickness in $^{208}$Pb and astrophysical constraints. The relativistic interaction has been generated by including all possible self and mixed interactions between $σ$, $ω$, and $ρ$-meson up to the quartic order satisfying the naturalness behavior of parameters. A covariance analysis is performed to assess the statistical uncertainties on the model parameters and observables of interest along with correlations amongst them. We obtained a value of neutron skin thickness for $^{208}$Pb nucleus $Δr_{np}$ = 0.24 $\pm$ 0.02 fm. The maximum gravitational mass of neutron star and radius corresponding to the canonical mass ($R_{1.4}$) come out to be 2.03 $\pm$ 0.04 M$\odot$ and 13.39 $\pm$ 0.41 km respectively. The dimensionless tidal deformability, $Λ$ for a neutron star is also analyzed.

CREX- and PREX-II-motivated relativistic interactions and their implications for the bulk properties of nuclear matter and neutron stars

We investigate the implications of parity-violating electron scattering experiment on neutron skin thickness of $^{48}$Ca (CREX) and $^{208}$Pb (PREX-II) data on the bulk properties of finite nuclei, nuclear matter, and neutron stars. The neutron skin thickness from the CREX and PREX-II data is employed to constrain the parameters of relativistic mean field models which includes different non-linear, self and cross-couplings among isoscalar-scalar $σ$, isoscalar-vector $ω$, isovector-scalar $δ$ and isovector-vector $ρ$ meson fields up to the quartic order. Three parametrizations of RMF model are proposed by fitting CREX, PREX-II and both CREX as well as PREX-II data to assess their implications. A covariance analysis is performed to assess the theoretical uncertainties of model parameters and nuclear matter observables along with correlations among them. The RMF model parametrization obtained with the CREX data acquires much smaller value of symmetry energy (J= 28.97$\pm$ 0.99 MeV), its slope parameter (L= 30.61$\pm 6.74$ MeV) in comparison to those obtained with PREX-II data. The neutron star properties are studied by employing the equations of state (EoSs) composed of nucleons and leptons in $β$ equilibrium.

Systematic study of the effect of individual rotational energy levels on the fusion cross-section of \texorpdfstring{$^{16}O$}--based reactions of range $480 \le {Z_PZ_T} \le 592$

The present work aims to investigate the effect of individual rotational energy levels on the fusion cross-sections for $^{16}$O-based reaction systems, namely, $^{16}$O + $^{182,184,186}$W, $^{16}$O + $^{176,180}${Hf}, $^{16}$O + $^{174,176}${Yb}, $^{16}$O + $^{166}${Er}, $^{16}$O + $^{148,152,154}$Sm, $^{16}$O + $^{150}$Nd at energies below the fusion barrier. Using the CCFULL code, the effect of low-lying rotational energy levels on the fusion cross-section for $^{16}$O induced reactions has been investigated at energies below and around the Coulomb barrier. The calculations are performed by assuming the fixed value of diffuseness parameter $a_{0}=0.65$ fm in the Woods-Saxon nuclear potential and the other two parameters are optimised by fitting the experimental data at the above barrier. Here we have determined the $V_0$ and $r_0$ as a function of $Z_PZ_T$, where experimental cross-sections are available. From our calculations, it is observed that the hexadecapole deformation ($β_4$) with different magnitudes has a significant influence on the fusion cross sections. For the case of the $+ve$ value of $β_4$, beyond $10^+$, the rotational levels cease to contribute significantly and also there is a significant difference between the contribution of sequential channels. On the other hand, in the case of -ve $β_4$, up to $6^+$ levels contribute significantly. Furthermore, we have established an algebraic systematic of fitting, which one can use to determine the parameters $V_0$, $r_0$ of Woods-Saxon nuclear potential within the range of $Z_PZ_T$ lie in between $480 \le {Z_PZ_T} \le 592$.

Control of skyrmion chirality in Ta/FeCoB/TaOx trilayers by TaOx oxidation and FeCoB thickness

Skyrmions are magnetic bubbles with nontrivial topology envisioned as data bits for ultrafast and power-efficient spintronic memory and logic devices. They may be stabilized in heavy-metal/ferromagnetic/oxide trilayer systems. The skyrmion chirality is then determined by the sign of the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). Nevertheless, for apparently identical systems, there is some controversy about the DMI sign. Here, we show that the degree of oxidation of the top interface and the thickness of the ferromagnetic layer play a major role. Using Brillouin light-scattering measurements in Ta/Fe-Co-B/TaOx trilayers, we demonstrate a sign change of the DMI with the degree of oxidation of the Fe-Co-B/TaOx interface. Using polar magneto-optical Kerr effect microscopy, we consistently observe a reversal of the direction of current-induced motion of skyrmions with the oxidation level of TaOx; this is attributed to their chirality reversal. In addition, a second chirality reversal is observed when changing the Fe-Co-B thickness, probably due to the proximity of the two Fe-Co-B interfaces in the ultrathin case. By properly tuning the chirality of the skyrmion, spin-transfer and spin-orbit torques combine constructively to enhance the skyrmion velocity. These observations thus allow us to envision an optimization of the material parameters to produce highly mobile skyrmions. Moreover, this chirality control enables a versatile manipulation of skyrmions and paves the way towards multidirectional devices.

Medium dependent relativistic NN potential: Application to the fusion dynamics

In-medium effects are introduced in the microscopic description of the effective nucleon-nucleon (NN) interaction potential entitled DDR3Y in terms of the density-dependent nucleon-meson couplings within the Relativistic-Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) approach. The nuclear densities of the interacting target and projectile nuclei and NN potentials are obtained for non-linear NL3$^*$ and TM1 parameter sets within the relativistic mean-field approach and density-dependent DDME1 and DDME2 parameter sets within the Relativistic-Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) formalism. The DDR3Y NN potential and the densities are used to obtain the nuclear potential by adopting the double folding approach. This nuclear potential is further used to probe the fusion dynamics within the $\ell-$summed Wong model for a few {\it even-even} systems leading to the formation of light, heavy and superheavy nuclei. The calculations are also performed for the relativistic R3Y, density-dependent and independent M3Y interaction potentials for the comparison. We observed that the DDR3Y NN potential gives a better overlap with the experimental data as compared to non-relativistic M3Y and DDM3Y NN potentials. From the comparison of R3Y and DDR3Y interactions, it is manifested that the inclusion of in-medium effects in terms of density-dependent nucleon-meson couplings raises the fusion barrier and consequently decreases the fusion and/or capture cross-section. Moreover, the nuclear densities, as well as the relativistic R3Y NN potential obtained for the NL3$^*$ parameter set, are observed to give a comparatively better fit to the experimental data.

Effect of isovector scalar meson on equation of state of dense matter within relativistic mean field model

The effects of the isovector-scalar $δ$-meson field on the properties of finite nuclei, infinite nuclear matter and neutron stars are investigated within the Relativistic Mean Field (RMF) model which includes non-linear couplings. Several parameter sets (SRV's) are generated to asses the influence of $δ$-meson on the properties of neutron star. These parametrizations correspond to different values of coupling constant of $δ$-meson to the nucleons with remaining ones calibrated to yield finite nuclei and infinite nuclear matter properties consistent with the available experimental data. It is observed that to fit the properties of finite nuclei and infinite nuclear matter, a stronger coupling between isovector-vector $ρ$ meson and nucleons is required in the presence of $δ$ field. Furthermore, the $δ$-meson is found to affect the radius of canonical neutron star significantly. The value of dimensionless tidal deformability, $Λ$ for the canonical neutron star also satisfies the constraints from the waveform models analysis of GW170817 binary neutron star merger event. A covariance analysis is performed to estimate the statistical uncertainties of the model parameters as well as correlations among the model parameters and different observables of interest.

Preformation Probability and Kinematics of Clusters Emission yielding Pb-daughters

In the present study, the newly established preformation formula is applied for the first time to study the kinematics of the cluster emission from various radioactive nuclei, especially those decaying to the double-shell closure $^{208}$Pb nucleus and its neighbours as daughters. The recently proposed universal cluster preformation formula has been established based on the concepts that underscore the influence of the mass and charge asymmetry ($η_A$ and $η_Z$), cluster mass $A_c$ and the Q-value, paving the way to quantify the energy contribution during the preformation as well as the tunnelling process separately. The cluster-daughter interaction potential is obtained by folding the relativistic mean-field (RMF) densities with the recently developed microscopic R3Y using the NL$3^*$ and the phenomenological M3Y NN potentials to compare their adaptability. The penetration probabilities are calculated from the WKB approximation. With the inclusion of the new preformation probability $P_0$, the predicted half-lives from the R3Y and M3Y interactions are in good agreement with the experimental data. Furthermore, a careful inspection reflects slight differences in the decay half-lives, which arise from their respective barrier properties. The $P_0$ for the systems with the double magic shell closure $^{208}$Pb daughter are found to be relatively higher with an order of $\approx 10^2$ than those with neighbouring Pb-daughter nuclei. By exploring the contributions of the decay energy, the recoil effect of the daughter nucleus is appraised, unlike several other conjectures. Thus, the centrality of the Q-value in the decay process is demonstrated and re-defined within the preformed cluster-decay model. Besides, we have introduced a simple and intuitive set of criteria that governs the estimation of recoil energy in the cluster radioactivity.

Gate-controlled skyrmion and domain wall chirality

Magnetic skyrmions are localized chiral spin textures, which offer great promise to store and process information at the nanoscale. In the presence of asymmetric exchange interactions, their chirality, which governs their dynamics, is generally considered as an intrinsic parameter set during the sample deposition. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate that a gate voltage can control this key parameter. We probe the chirality of skyrmions and chiral domain walls by observing the direction of their current-induced motion and show that a gate voltage can reverse it. This local and dynamical reversal of the chirality is due to a sign inversion of the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction that we attribute to ionic migration of oxygen under gate voltage. Micromagnetic simulations show that the chirality reversal is a continuous transformation, in which the skyrmion is conserved. This control of chirality with 2 - 3 V gate voltage can be used for skyrmion-based logic devices, yielding new functionalities.

Systematic study of fusion barrier characteristics within the relativistic mean-field formalism

Background: The nuclear interaction potential and hence the fusion barrier formed between the interacting nuclei are the keys to understanding the complex fusion process dynamics. Purpose: This work intends to explore the fusion barrier characteristics of different target-projectile combinations within the relativistic mean-field (RMF) formalism. Methods: The density distributions of interacting nuclei and the microscopic R3Y NN interaction are obtained from relativistic mean-field (RMF) formalism for non-linear NL1, NL3, TM1, and relativistic-Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) approach for DDME2 parameter sets. The fusion and/or capture cross-section for the different reaction systems is calculated using the well-known $\ell$-summed Wong model. Results: The barrier height and position of 24 heavy-ion reaction systems are obtained for different nuclear density distributions and effective NN interaction potentials. The comparison of fusion and/or capture cross-section obtained from the $\ell$-summed Wong model is made with the available experimental data. Conclusions: The phenomenological M3Y NN potential is observed to give higher barrier heights than the relativistic R3Y NN potential for all the reaction systems. The comparison of results obtained from different relativistic parameter sets shows that the densities from NL1 and TM1 parameter sets give the lowest and highest barrier heights for all the systems under study. We observed higher barrier heights and lower cross-sections for DDR3Y NN potential as compared to density-independent R3Y NN potentials obtained for considered non-linear NL1, NL3 and TM1 parameter sets. According to the present analysis, it is concluded that the NL1 and NL3 parameter sets provide comparatively better overlap with the experimental fusion and/or capture cross-section than the TM1 and DDME2 parameter sets.

Exploring the ground state bulk and decay properties of the nuclei in superheavy island

The $α$-decay half-lives of 204 superheavy nuclei covering the range $114 \leq Z \leq 126$ have been investigated using the relativistic mean-field model (RMF) for NL3$^*$ parameter set. The ground state bulk properties such as binding energy, quadrupole deformation parameter ($β_2$ ), and root-mean-square charge radii for these nuclei are analyzed. Four different semi-empirical formulae, namely, the universal decay law (UDL), the Viola-Seaborg (VSS) formula, the modified universal decay law (MUDL), and the modified Brown formula (MBrown), are used to obtain the $α$-decay half-lives for the considered nuclei. To examine the applicability of relativistic mean-field model within NL3$^*$ parametrization, the $α$-decay energies, and the half-lives of a few known superheavy nuclei within the range 102 $\leq$ Z $\leq$ 118 are calculated and the results are compared with the experimental data along with the theoretical predictions. The $α$-decay energies ($Q$-values) are estimated from the binding energies of the parent, and daughter from the RMF (NL3$^*$) parameter set. The calculated results are compared with macroscopic-microscopic Finite-Range-Droplet-Model (FRDM), Global Nuclear Mass Model (WS3, WS4), Weizsacker-Skyrme mass model (WS$^*$) predictions, and the experimental data, wherever available. The possible standard deviations are also estimated for experimental and various theoretical predictions. We find a good consistency for the experimental-to-UDL, FRDM-to-UDL, and WS4-to-UDL estimates of the decay energy and corresponding half-life. The present analysis provides the theoretical predictions within the microscopic model for the upcoming experiments on the superheavy region.

Isospin dependent properties of the isotopic chain of Scandium and Titanium nuclei within the relativistic mean-field formalism

The density-dependent nuclear symmetry energy is directly related to the isospin asymmetry for finite and infinite nuclear systems. It is critical to determine the coefficients of symmetry energy and its related observables as it holds great importance in different areas of nuclear physics, such as analyzing the structure of ground state exotic nuclei and neutron star study. The ground state bulk properties such as nuclear binding energy, quadrupole deformation, two-neutron separation energy, the differential variation of two-neutron separation energy, and root-mean-square charge radius for Scandium (Z = 21), and Titanium (Z = 22) nuclei are calculated. The coherent density fluctuation model is used to estimate the isospin-dependent properties of finite nuclei such as symmetry energy and its surface and volume components from its corresponding value in infinite nuclear matter system. Finally, we correlate the neutron-skin thickness with the coefficient of symmetry energy and its related observables corresponding to these isotopic chains of nuclei. The relativistic mean-field formalism with non-linear NL3 and Relativistic-Hartree-Bogoliubov with density-dependent DD-ME2 interaction parameters are employed in the present analysis. A shape transition is observed from spherical to prolate near N $\geq$ 44 and N $\geq$ 40 for Sc- and Ti- isotopic chain, respectively. Notable signatures of shell and/or sub-shell closures have been found for the magic neutron numbers at N = 20 and 28 for both the isotopic chain using the nuclear bulk and isospin quantities. In addition to these, a few signatures of shell/sub-shell closure are observed near the drip-line region, at N = 34 and 50 by following the surface/isospin dependent observables, namely symmetry energy and its component for both the isotopic chain of odd-A Sc- and even-even Ti- nuclei.

On Retro Frame Associated With Measurable Space

Frames are redundant system which are useful in the reconstruction of certain classes of spaces. Duffin and Schaeffer introduced frames for Hilbert spaces, while addressing some deep problems in non harmonic Fourier series. The dual of a frame (Hilbert) always exists and can be obtained in a natural way. In this paper we introduce the notion of $Ω_0$-type duality of retro $(Ω,μ)$-frames are given. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the dual of retro $(Ω,μ)$-frames are obtained. A special class of retro $(Ω,μ)$-frames which always admit a dual frame is discussed.
