Spectral Characterizations of Schatten-class perturbations of Partial isometries

We characterize bounded operators that are compact (respectively, Schatten-class) perturbations of scalar multiples of partial isometries with finite-dimensional kernel. Our characterizations are formulated in terms of the essential spectrum of $T^*T$, absolutely norm attaining operators, and the Moore-Penrose inverse. In particular, we show that an operator $T$ is a Schatten-class perturbation of a partial isometry with finite-dimensional kernel if and only if $\sigma_{\mathrm{ess}}(T^*T)$ is a singleton and the discrete spectrum of $T^*T$ satisfies a corresponding $\ell^p$-summability condition. We further obtain equivalent criteria involving the compactness (or Schatten-class membership) of $\alpha I-T^*T$ and $\alpha T^\dagger-T^*$. As applications, we establish characterizations of compact and Schatten-class perturbations of isometries, describe the corresponding behavior of Moore--Penrose inverses, and derive factorization results for closed-range operators. In particular, we provide a new Moore--Penrose inverse proof of a theorem of \c{S}erban and Turcu and obtain an explicit formula for the factorizing operator.

On the minimum modulus of dual truncated Toeplitz operators

This article provides a systematic investigation of the minimum modulus of dual truncated Toeplitz operators (DTTOs) $D_{\varphi}$ acting on the orthogonal complement of the model space $\mathcal{K}_u^{\perp}$, where $u$ is a nonconstant inner function and $\varphi \in L^\infty(\T)$. We first establish an explicit formula for the minimum modulus of the compressed shift $S_u$ and its dual $D_u$ in terms of $|u(0)|$, and prove that the minimum is always attained. For normal DTTOs, we derive sharp spectral bounds utilizing the essential range of the symbol and characterize the conditions under which $m(D_{\varphi})$ coincides with the essential infimum of $|\varphi|$. In the general setting, for unimodular $\vp$, we obtain exact formulas and two sided estimates for $m(D_{\varphi})$ by analyzing the norms of associated Toeplitz and Hankel operators restricted to the model space. Finally, we provide several concrete examples to illustrate our results.

On Absolutely norm (minimum) attaining $2\times 2$ block operator matrix

In this article, we study absolutely norm attaining operators ($\mathcal{AN}$-operators, in short), that is, operators that attain their norm on every non-zero closed subspace of a Hilbert space. Our focus is primarily on positive $2\times2$ block operator matrices in Hilbert spaces. Subsequently, we examine the analogous problem for operators that attain their minimum modulus on every nonzero closed subspace; these are referred to as absolutely minimum attaining operators (or $\mathcal{AM}$-operators, in short). We provide conditions under which these operators belong to the operator norm closure of the above two classes. In addition, we give a characterization of idempotent operators that fall into these three classes. Finally, we illustrate our results through examples that involve concrete operators.

A Radon-Nikodym theorem for CP-maps on Hilbert pro-C*-modules

We introduce an equivalence relation on the set of all completely positive maps between Hilbert modules over pro-C*-algebras and analyze the Stinespring's construction for equivalent completely positive maps. We then give a preorder relation in the collection of all completely positive maps between Hilbert modules over pro-C*-algebras and obtain a Radon-Nikodym type theorem.

Completely Positive Maps: Pro-C*-algebras and Hilbert modules over Pro-C*-algebras

In this paper, we begin by presenting a construction for induced representations of Hilbert modules over pro-$C^*$-algebras for a given continuous $^*$-morphism between pro-$C^*$-algebras. Subsequently, we describe the structure of completely positive maps between two pro-$C^*$-algebras using Paschke's GNS construction for CP-maps on pro-$C^*$-algebras. Furthermore, through our construction, we establish a structure theorem for a $\phi-$map between two Hilbert modules over pro-$C^*$-algebras, where $\phi$ is a continuous CP-map between pro-$C^*$-algebras. We also discuss the minimality of these representations.

Hyperinvariant subspaces for normaloid essential isometric operators

In this article, we prove the existence of a non-trivial hyperinvariant subspace for a subclass of compact perturbations of scalar multiple of a partial isometry. Later, we illustrate that this class contains several important classes of operators. As a consequence, we prove that a Schatten class perturbation of a partial isometry with finite-dimensional null space has a non-trivial hyperinvariant subspace.
