Cosmological models with non-canonical scalar and fermion fields: k-essence, f-essence and g-essence

In the present work, we study the cosmological model with fermionic field and with the non-canonical kinetic term (f-essence). We also present some important reductions of the model as well as its some generalizations. We also found the exact solution of the model and examine the influence of such gravity-fermion interaction on the observed accelerated expansion of our universe. Several fermionic and bosonic-fermionic DBI models were constructed as some particular reductions of f-essence and g-essence, respectively and their Chaplygin gas counterparts are found. Finally, some nonlinear models of bouncing and cyclic universes are proposed.

Noether symmetry in $F(T)$ gravity with $f$-essence

In $F(T)$ gravity theory, a Friedman-Robertson-Walker cosmological model with $f$-essence where fermion field is non-minimally coupled with the gravitational field is studied. Using the Noether symmetry approach the possible forms of $F(T)$ gravity and the non-canonical fermionic lagrangian $K$ are determined. Cosmological solutions of the condered models describing the accelerated and decelerated periods of the universe are found.

Scalar tensor Horndeski models: simple cosmological applications

In this paper, we analyze a simple class of Horndeski scalar-tensor theory. We investigate several cosmological solutions for inflation, bounce scenario and finite future-time singuarities. Perturbations respect to Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric are studied and discussed in the context of inflation.

$f(ϕ) R$-models for inflation

In this paper, we investigate models where a scalar field driving inflation is minimally coupled with gravity and it is subjected to a scalar potential. We present several examples of coupling between the field and gravity, and we furnish realistic models for inflation in agreement with the last Planck results.

Mimetic covariant renormalizable gravity

Covariant renormalizable gravity is a Horava-like extension of general relativity, enjoying full diffeomorphism invariance. However, the price to pay in order to maintain both covariance and renormalizability is the presence of an unknown fluid, whose non-standard coupling dynamically breaks Lorentz invariance. In this brief work we identify and explain the nature of this fluid, which we note describes the conformal mode of gravity, and arises naturally in frameworks such as that of mimetic gravity. Finally, we lay out extensions of the covariant Horava-like model, which can serve as a guide for future model-building in this area.

F(R) gravity and inflation

In this short review, we revisit inflation in F(R)-gravity. We find several F(R)-models for viable inflation by applying some reconstruction techniques. A special attention is payed in the reproduction of the last Planck satellite data. The possible generalizations of Starobinsky- like inflation are found and discussed. The early-time acceleration is analyzed in a higher- derivative quantum gravitational model which mainly reduces to F(R)-gravity.

On existence of a possible Lorentz invariant modified gravity in Weitzenböck spacetime

Modified gravity which was constructed by torsion scalar $T$, namely $f(T)$ doesn't respect Lorentz symmetry. As an attempt to make a new torsion based modified gravity with Lorentz invarianve, recently $f(T,\mathcal{B})$ introduced where $B=2\nabla_μT^μ$ \citep{Bahamonde:2015zma}. We would argue, even when all is constructed and done in a self-consistent form, if you handle them properly,we observe that there is no Lorentz invariant teleparallel equivalent of $f(R)$ gravity. All we found is that the $f(R)$ gravity in which $R$ must be computed in Weitzenböck spacetime, using Weitzenböck's connection, nor Levi-Civita connections is the only possible Lorentz invariant type of modified gravity. Consequently, $f(T)$ gravity can not obey Lorentz symmetry not only in its orthodoxica form but even in this new framework $f(T,\mathcal{B})$.

Consequences of three modified forms of holographic dark energy models in bulk-brane interaction

In this paper, we study the effects which are produced by the interaction between a brane Universe and the bulk in which the Universe is embedded. Taking into account the effects produced by the interaction between a brane Universe and the bulk, we derived the Equation of State (EoS) parameter $ω_D$ for three different models of Dark Energy (DE), \emph{i.e.} the Holographic DE (HDE) model with infrared (IR) cut-off given by the Granda-Oliveros cut-off, the Modified Holographic Ricci DE (MHRDE) model and a DE model which is function of the Hubble parameter $H$ squared and to higher derivatives of $H$. Moreover, we have considered two different cases of scale factor (namely, the power law and the emergent ones). A nontrivial contribution of the DE is observed to be different from the standard matter fields confined to the brane. Such contribution has a monotonically decreasing behavior upon the evolution of the Universe for the emergent scenario of the scale factor, while monotonically increasing for the power-law form of the scale factor $a(t)$.

Holographic superconductors with Weyl corrections

A quick review on the analytical aspects of holographic superconductors (HSC) with Weyl corrections has been presented. Mainly we focus on matching method and variations approaches. Different types of such HSC have been investigated, s-wave, p-wave and Stúckelberg ones. We also review the fundamental construction of a p-wave type , in which the non-Abelian gauge field is coupled to the Weyl tensor. The results are compared from numerics to analytical results.

Mimetic Attractors

In this paper, we investigate the mathematical modeling for the cosmological attractors propagated in mimetic gravity upon which an interacting dark energy-dark matter is supposed to be existed. The average value of the interaction of these percentages, namely $Γ_i$ say, may be used to investigate generally the modeling of an attractor; the actual value could only be determined by data in any particular case. We have seen, for example, that it was led to investigate the subject of initially invariant submanifolds.

Spherically symmetric static vacuum solutions in Mimetic gravity

In this paper we analyze spherically symmetric static vacuum solutions with various topologies in mimetic gravity. When the Einstein's tensor is different from zero, a new class of solutions different from the Schwarzschild one emerges from the theory. We analyze the feature of the new solutions and we study the planar motion for the spherical case.

Holographic Entanglement Entropy in 2D Holographic Superconductor via $AdS_3/CFT_2$

The aim of the present letter is to find the holographic entanglement entropy (HEE) in 2D holographic superconductors (HSC). Indeed, it is possible to compute the exact form of this entropy due to an advantage of approximate solutions inside normal and superconducting phases with backreactions. By making the UV and IR limits applied to the integrals, an approximate expression for HEE is obtained. In case the software cannot calculate minimal surface integrals analytically, it offers the possibility to proceed with a numerical evaluation of the corresponding terms. We'll understand how the area formula incorporates the structure of the domain wall approximation. We see that HEE changes linearly with belt angle. It's due to the extensivity of this type of entropy and the emergent of an entropic force. We find that the wider belt angle corresponds to a larger holographic surface. Another remarkable observation is that no "confinement/deconfinement" phase transition point exists in our $2D$ dual field theory. Furthermore we observe that the slope of the HEE with respect to the temperature freedom(s) in low temperature system. A first order phase transition is detected near the critical point.

Kaluza-Klein reduction and Bergmann-Wagoner bi-scalar general action of scalar-tensor gravity

We examine the Kaluza-Klein (KK) dimensional reduction from higher-dimensional space-time and the properties of the resultant Bergmann-Wagoner general action of scalar-tensor theories. With the analysis of the perturbations, we also investigate the stability of the anti-de Sitter (AdS) space-time in the $D\in\mathcal{N}$-dimensional Einstein gravity with the negative cosmological constant. Furthermore, we derive the conditions for the dimensional reduction to successfully be executed and present the KK compactification mechanism.

Inhomogeneous fluids for warm inflation

Inhomogeneous fluid models for warm inflation are investigated. The early-time acceleration is supported by inhomogeneous fluid whose coupling with radiation leads to the radiation dominated era after inflation. Several examples are analyzed, strong dissipation regime is discussed, and the viability of the models respect to the last Planck data is verified.

Noether Symmetry Approach for teleparallel-curvature cosmology

We consider curvature-teleparallel $F(R,T)$ gravity, where the gravitational Lagrangian density is given by an arbitrary function of the Ricci scalar $R$ and the torsion scalar $T$. Using the Noether Symmetry Approach, we show that the functional form of the $F(R, T)$ function, can be determined by the presence of symmetries . Furthermore, we obtain exact solutions through to the presence of conserved quantities and the reduction of cosmological dynamical system. Example of particular cosmological models are considered.

Reciprocal NUT spacetimes

In this paper, we study the \texttt{Ehlers' transformation} (sometimes called gravitational duality rotation) for \texttt{reciprocal} static metrics. First we introduce the concept of reciprocal metric. We prove a theorem which shows how we can construct a certain new static solution of Einstein field equations using a seed metric. Later we investigate the family of stationary spacetimes of such reciprocal metrics. The key here is a theorem from Ehlers', which relates any static vacuum solution to a unique stationary metric. The stationary metric has a magnetic charge. The spacetime represents Newman -Unti-Tamburino (NUT) solutions. Since any stationary spacetime can be decomposed into a $1+3$ time-space decomposition, Einstein field equations for any stationary spacetime can be written in the form of Maxwell's equations for gravitoelectromagnetic fields. Further we show that this set of equations is invariant under reciprocal transformations. An additional point is that the NUT charge changes the sign. As an instructive example, by starting from the reciprocal Schwarzschild as a spherically symmetric solution and reciprocal Morgan-Morgan disk model as seed metrics we find their corresponding stationary space-times. Starting from any static seed metric, performing the reciprocal transformation and by applying an additional Ehlers' transforation we obtain a family of NUT spaces with negative NUT factor (reciprocal NUT factors).

Inflationary universe from higher-derivative quantum gravity

We consider higher-derivative quantum gravity where renormalization group improved effective action beyond one-loop approximation is derived. Using this effective action, the quantum-corrected FRW equations are analyzed. De Sitter universe solution is found. It is demonstrated that such de Sitter inflationary universe is instable. The slow-roll inflationary parameters are calculated. The contribution of renormalization group improved Gauss-Bonnet term to quantum-corrected FRW equations as well as to instability of de Sitter universe is estimated. It is demonstrated that in this case the spectral index and tensor-to-scalar ratio are consistent with Planck data.
