Aspects of the Structure of the QCD Radiation Field

We consider the classical radiative solution to the QCD (quantum chromodynamics) dynamical equations and find trivial solutions similar to the electrodynamic situation when one considers singlet (colorless) radiation sources. We transpose the findings to quantum fields and identify radiation from hadron (meson) sources with gluon packages of 3 (2) gluons. Invoking the singlet character of the QCD matter and radiation field, we deduce that the blank (singlet) gluon packages are the elementary building blocks of QCD radiation, just as blank hadrons and mesons are the building blocks of baryon matter. Colorlessness of the gluon packages suggests a possibly simpler quasi-abelian behaviour, as far as linear superposition is involved, of the QCD singlet radiation field.

On the Nature of the Energy Current in Many-Particle Systems

We show that the definition of an energy current for non-relativistic systems with action-at-a-distance is possible if the interaction respects Gausses law, i.e. if it is Coulomb-like. The energy current can transport kinetic and mass (excitation) energy but not potential energy.

Experimental Test of Condensate-Excitation Theories of the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect

It is shown that the description of the FQHE as condensation of the electron system into a ground state with fractionally charged excitations is incompatible with experimental observations. The nature of the Hall voltage in fractional plateaux as a chemical potential difference eliminates the condensate as current carrier and the temperature dependence of longitudinal conductance eliminates the excitation picture of charge carriers.

Some Aspects of Wigner Cristal Work

We give a brief account on the importance of surface effects from homogeneous background charge and assess the role of numerical work for Wigner cristal transitions. We signal work from the 1960s on the impossibility of a Wigner Cristal thermodynamic phase and suggest a possible research direction for investigation of cristalline electron behaviour.

Some Aspects regarding Renormalisation Theory of Critical Phenomena

Concerning renormalisation group theory applied to phase transitions, we examine the value of positive numerical and analytical evidence, the divergent short-wavelength behaviour of classical free fields and the absence of UV-divergences in quantum field theories with proper mathematical handling. We conclude as to the inadequacy of the conceptual and mathematical framework of renormalisation theory of critical phenomena.
