A note on pointwise convergence for the Schrödinger equation

We consider Carleson's problem regarding pointwise convergence for the Schrödinger equation. Bourgain recently proved that there is initial data, in $H^s(\mathbb{R}^n)$ with $s<\frac{n}{2(n+1)}$, for which the solution diverges on a set of nonzero Lebesgue measure. We provide a different example enabling the generalisation to fractional Hausdorff measure.

Random Walk on Lattice with an Antisymmetric Perturbation in One Point

We study an homogeneous irreducible markovian random walk in a square lattice of arbitrary dimension, with an antisymmetric perturbation acting only in one point. We compute exactly spatial correction to the diffusive behaviour in the asympotics of probability, in the spirit of local limit theorems for random walks.

Gibbs measures associated to the integrals of motion of the periodic derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation

We study the one dimensional periodic derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equation. This is known to be a completely integrable system, in the sense that there is an infinite sequence of formal integrals of motion $\int h_k$, $k\in \mathbb{Z}_{+}$. In each $\int h_{2k}$ the term with the highest regularity involves the Sobolev norm $\dot H^{k}(\mathbb{T})$ of the solution of the DNLS equation. We show that a functional measure on $L^2(\mathbb{T})$, absolutely continuous w.r.t. the Gaussian measure with covariance $(\mathbb{I}+(-Δ)^{k})^{-1}$, is associated to each integral of motion $\int h_{2k}$, $k\geq1$.

Average decay of the Fourier transform of measures with applications

We consider spherical averages of the Fourier transform of fractal measures and improve both the upper and lower bounds on the rate of decay. Maximal estimates with respect to fractal measures are deduced for the Schrödinger and wave equations. This refines the almost everywhere convergence of the solution to its initial datum as time tends to zero. A consequence is that the solution to the wave equation cannot diverge on a $(d-1)$-dimensional manifold if the data belongs to the energy space $\dot{H}^1(\mathbb{R}^d)\times L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)$.

An improved necessary condition for the Schrödinger maximal estimate

We improve the necessary condition for Carleson's problem regarding convergence for the Schrödinger equation in dimensions $n\ge 3$. We prove that if the solution converges almost everywhere to its initial datum as time tends to zero, for all data in $H^s(\mathbb{R}^n)$, then $s\ge \frac{n}{2(n+2)}$.

On the regularity set and angular integrability for the Navier--Stokes equation

We investigate the size of the regular set for suitable weak solutions of the Navier--Stokes equation, in the sense of Caffarelli--Kohn--Nirenberg. We consider initial data in weighted Lebesgue spaces with mixed radial-angular integrability, and we prove that the regular set increases if the data have higher angular integrability, invading the whole half space $\{t>0\}$ in an appropriate limit. In particular, we obtain that if the $L^{2}$ norm with weight $|x|^{-\frac12}$ of the data tends to 0, the regular set invades $\{t>0\}$.

Inequalities with angular integrability and applications

We prove an extension of the Stein-Weiss weighted estimates for fractional integrals, in the context of Lp spaces with different integrability properties in the radial and the angular direction. In this way, the classical estimates can be unified with their improved radial versions. A number of consequences are obtained: in particular we deduce precised versions of weighted Sobolev embeddings, Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg estimates, and Strichartz estimates for the wave equation, which extend the radial improvements to the case of arbitrary functions. Then we apply this technology in order to give new a priori assumptions on weak solutions of the Navier-Stokes equation so as to be able to conclude that they are smooth. The regularity criteria are given in terms of mixed radial-angular weighted Lebesgue space norms.
