RSC-GestureNet: Reliability-Aware Selective Causal Recognition of Chinese Traffic Police Gestures

Traffic police gestures are safety-critical perception cues for autonomous driving. A deployable recognizer must infer commands causally from continuous full-frame video, remain stable around transitional arm motion, and avoid over-trusting corrupted pose measurements. This study presents RSC-GestureNet, a reliability-aware selective causal recognizer, for Chinese traffic police gestures. The model treats pose confidence as a first-class signal: unreliable joints are down weighted during graph reasoning, temporal evidence is aggregated causally, and calibrated predictions are selectively emitted through a reliability-aware inference rule. We further introduce CTPGesture-C, a reproducible feature-level corruption benchmark with seven pose/RGB degradation families, and an RGB-level diagnostic in which corrupted frames are reprocessed by MediaPipe before recognition. On the complete official CTPGesture v1 split (134,424 labeled frames and 33,451 causal windows), RSC-GestureNet achieves 93.33+-0.24% accuracy, 91.71+-0.27% macro-F1, 91.69+-0.29% online macro-F1, 98.80+-0.07% Early@10, 0.153+-0.013 s TTC, and the best robust macro-F1 among evaluated methods. Under the same split and causal protocol, it exceeds reproduced traffic-specific MD-GCN and HLP-GCN baselines by 3.23-4.11 macro-F1 points and 2.15-3.07 online-F1 points. These results, together with calibration, selective-risk, statistical, adaptive-branching, and image-level re-extraction analyses, indicate that explicit pose-reliability modeling improves early, stable, and robust traffic-command recognition.

LC4-DViT: Land-cover Creation for Land-cover Classification with Deformable Vision Transformer

Land-cover underpins ecosystem services, hydrologic regulation, disaster-risk reduction, and evidence-based land planning; timely, accurate land-cover maps are therefore critical for environmental stewardship. Remote sensing-based land-cover classification offers a scalable route to such maps but is hindered by scarce and imbalanced annotations and by geometric distortions in high-resolution scenes. We propose LC4-DViT (Land-cover Creation for Land-cover Classification with Deformable Vision Transformer), a framework that combines generative data creation with a deformation-aware Vision Transformer. A text-guided diffusion pipeline uses GPT-4o-generated scene descriptions and super-resolved exemplars to synthesize class-balanced, high-fidelity training images, while DViT couples a DCNv4 deformable convolutional backbone with a Vision Transformer encoder to jointly capture fine-scale geometry and global context. On eight classes from the Aerial Image Dataset (AID)-Beach, Bridge, Desert, Forest, Mountain, Pond, Port, and River-DViT achieves 0.9572 overall accuracy, 0.9576 macro F1-score, and 0.9510 Cohen' s Kappa, improving over a vanilla ViT baseline (0.9274 OA, 0.9300 macro F1, 0.9169 Kappa) and outperforming ResNet50, MobileNetV2, and FlashInternImage. Cross-dataset experiments on a three-class SIRI-WHU subset (Harbor, Pond, River) yield 0.9333 overall accuracy, 0.9316 macro F1, and 0.8989 Kappa, indicating good transferability. An LLM-based judge using GPT-4o to score Grad-CAM heatmaps further shows that DViT' s attention aligns best with hydrologically meaningful structures. These results suggest that description-driven generative augmentation combined with deformation-aware transformers is a promising approach for high-resolution land-cover mapping.

MARS: Multi-Agent Robotic System with Multimodal Large Language Models for Assistive Intelligence

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have shown remarkable capabilities in cross-modal understanding and reasoning, offering new opportunities for intelligent assistive systems, yet existing systems still struggle with risk-aware planning, user personalization, and grounding language plans into executable skills in cluttered homes. We introduce MARS - a Multi-Agent Robotic System powered by MLLMs for assistive intelligence and designed for smart home robots supporting people with disabilities. The system integrates four agents: a visual perception agent for extracting semantic and spatial features from environment images, a risk assessment agent for identifying and prioritizing hazards, a planning agent for generating executable action sequences, and an evaluation agent for iterative optimization. By combining multimodal perception with hierarchical multi-agent decision-making, the framework enables adaptive, risk-aware, and personalized assistance in dynamic indoor environments. Experiments on multiple datasets demonstrate the superior overall performance of the proposed system in risk-aware planning and coordinated multi-agent execution compared with state-of-the-art multimodal models. The proposed approach also highlights the potential of collaborative AI for practical assistive scenarios and provides a generalizable methodology for deploying MLLM-enabled multi-agent systems in real-world environments.

Three-dimensional narrow volume reconstruction method with unconditional stability based on a phase-field Lagrange multiplier approach

Reconstruction of an object from points cloud is essential in prosthetics, medical imaging, computer vision, etc. We present an effective algorithm for an Allen--Cahn-type model of reconstruction, employing the Lagrange multiplier approach. Utilizing scattered data points from an object, we reconstruct a narrow shell by solving the governing equation enhanced with an edge detection function derived from the unsigned distance function. The specifically designed edge detection function ensures the energy stability. By reformulating the governing equation through the Lagrange multiplier technique and implementing a Crank--Nicolson time discretization, we can update the solutions in a stable and decoupled manner. The spatial operations are approximated using the finite difference method, and we analytically demonstrate the unconditional stability of the fully discrete scheme. Comprehensive numerical experiments, including reconstructions of complex 3D volumes such as characters from \textit{Star Wars}, validate the algorithm's accuracy, stability, and effectiveness. Additionally, we analyze how specific parameter selections influence the level of detail and refinement in the reconstructed volumes. To facilitate the interested readers to understand our algorithm, we share the computational codes and data in https://github.com/cfdyang521/C-3PO/tree/main.

MVT: Mask-Grounded Vision-Language Models for Taxonomy-Aligned Land-Cover Tagging

Land-cover understanding in remote sensing increasingly demands class-agnostic systems that generalize across datasets while remaining spatially precise and interpretable. We study a geometry-first discovery-and-interpretation setting under domain shift, where candidate regions are delineated class-agnostically and supervision avoids lexical class names via anonymized identifiers. Complementary to open-set recognition and open-world learning, we focus on coupling class-agnostic mask evidence with taxonomy-grounded scene interpretation, rather than unknown rejection or continual class expansion. We propose MVT, a three-stage framework that (i) extracts boundary-faithful region masks using SAM2 with domain adaptation, (ii) performs mask-grounded semantic tagging and scene description generation via dual-step LoRA fine-tuning of multimodal LLMs, and (iii) evaluates outputs with LLM-as-judge scoring calibrated by stratified expert ratings. On cross-dataset segmentation transfer (train on OpenEarthMap, evaluate on LoveDA), domain-adapted SAM2 improves mask quality; meanwhile, dual-step MLLM fine-tuning yields more accurate taxonomy-aligned tags and more informative mask-grounded scene descriptions.
