Codes over the non-unital non-commutative ring $E$ using simplicial complexes

There are exactly two non-commutative rings of size $4$, namely, $E = \langle a, b ~\vert ~ 2a = 2b = 0, a^2 = a, b^2 = b, ab= a, ba = b\rangle$ and its opposite ring $F$. These rings are non-unital. A subset $D$ of $E^m$ is defined with the help of simplicial complexes, and utilized to construct linear left-$E$-codes $C^L_D=\{(v\cdot d)_{d\in D} : v\in E^m\}$ and right-$E$-codes $C^R_D=\{(d\cdot v)_{d\in D} : v\in E^m\}$. We study their corresponding binary codes obtained via a Gray map. The weight distributions of all these codes are computed. We achieve a couple of infinite families of optimal codes with respect to the Griesmer bound. Ashikhmin-Barg's condition for minimality of a linear code is satisfied by most of the binary codes we constructed here. All the binary codes in this article are few-weight codes, and self-orthogonal codes under certain mild conditions. This is the first attempt to study the structure of linear codes over non-unital non-commutative rings using simplicial complexes.

Multisecret-sharing scheme with two-level security and its applications in Blockchain

A $(t,m)$-threshold secret sharing and multisecret-sharing scheme based on Shamir's SSS are introduced with two-level security using a one-way function. Besides we give its application in smart contract-enabled consortium blockchain network. The proposed scheme is thoroughly examined in terms of security and efficiency. Privacy, security, integrity, and scalability are also analyzed while applying it to the blockchain network.

On the exponent of cyclic codes

We propose an algorithm to find a lower bound for the number of cyclic codes over any finite field with any given exponent. Besides, we give a formula to find the exponent of BCH codes.

Stability of Certain Higher Degree Polynomials

One of the interesting problems in arithmetic dynamics is to study the stability of polynomials over a field. In this paper, we study the stability of $f(z)=z^d+\frac{1}{c}$ for $d\geq 2$, $c\in{\mathbb{Z}\setminus\{0\}}$. We show that for infinite families of $d\geq 3$, whenever $f(z)$ is irreducible, all its iterates are irreducible, that is, $f(z)$ is stable. For $c\equiv 1\pmod{4}$, we show that all the iterates of $z^2+\frac{1}{c}$ are irreducible. Also we show that for $d=3$, if $f(z)$ is reducible, then the number of irreducible factors of each iterate of $f(z)$ is exactly $2$ for $|c|\leq{10^{12}}$.

Linear codes using simplicial complexes

Certain simplicial complexes are used to construct a subset $D$ of $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}^m$ and $D$, in turn, defines the linear code $C_{D}$ over $\mathbb{F}_{2^n}$ that consists of $(v\cdot d)_{d\in D}$ for $v\in \mathbb{F}_{2^n}^m$. Here we deal with the case $n=3$, that is, when $C_{D}$ is an octanary code. We establish a relation between $C_{D}$ and its binary subfield code $C_{D}^{(2)}$ with the help of a generator matrix. For a given length and dimension, a code is called distance optimal if it has the highest possible distance. With respect to the Griesmer bound, five infinite families of distance optimal codes are obtained, and sufficient conditions for certain linear codes to be minimal are established.

Irreducibility and Galois Groups of Generalized Laguerre Polynomials $L_{n}^{(-1-n-r)}(x)$

We study the algebraic properties of Generalized Laguerre polynomials for negative integral values of a given parameter which is $L_{n}^{(-1-n-r)}(x)= \sum\limits_{j=0}^{n} \binom{n-j+r}{n-j} \frac{x^{j}}{j!}$ for integers $r\geq 0, n\geq 1$. For different values of parameter $r$, this family provides polynomials which are of great interest. Hajir conjectured that for integers $r\geq 0$ and $n\geq 1$, $L_{n}^{(-1-n-r)}(x)$ is an irreducible polynomial whose Galois group contains $A_n$, the alternating group on $n$ symbols. Extending earlier results of Schur, Hajir, Sell, Nair and Shorey, we confirm this conjecture for all $r\leq 60$. We also prove that $L_{n}^{(-1-n-r)}(x)$ is an irreducible polynomial whose Galois group contains $A_n$ whenever $n>e^{r\left(1+\frac{1.2762}{{\rm log } r}\right)}$.

We prove that any non-cocompact irreducible lattice in a higher rank semi-simple Lie group contains a subgroup of finite index, which has three generators.
