The effects of polarization on the observables in the decay $\Xi_{cc}^{++} \rightarrow \Xi_{c}^{+} \bar{\ell}\nu_{\ell}$

We investigate the effects of polarization on several physical observables in the semileptonic decay $\Xi_{cc}^{++} \rightarrow \Xi_c^{+} \bar{\ell}\nu_{\ell}$. We analyze the polarization effects of the particles involved in the decay, namely $\Xi_{cc}^{++}$, $\Xi_c^{+}$, and the charged muon $\ell$. Using the form factors obtained from QCD sum rules, we compute the $q^{2}$-dependent observables including the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, and polarization asymmetries for both longitudinal and transverse polarization states. We also define and examine several polarization ratios and discuss correlations among different observables. In addition, we evaluate the lepton flavor universality ratio defined as $\mathcal{R}_{\Xi_c^+}(\mu/e) \equiv \mathcal{D}(\Xi_{cc}^{++}\to \Xi_c^+\mu^+\nu_\mu)/\mathcal{D}(\Xi_{cc}^{++}\to \Xi_c^+e^+\nu_e)$ and analyze its behavior over the available dynamical range. Our results show that these observables are quite sensitive to polarization effects, and can provide suitable probes for testing Standard Model predictions.

Chirality structure of vector like new physics operators in charged current transitions

We investigate the cascade decay $B^{*0}_{s} \rightarrow D_s^-(\rightarrow \tau^-\,\bar\nu_{\tau})\,\ell^{+}\,{\nu}_\ell$ induced by flavor changing charged currents in the context of the Standard Model and in vector-like couplings beyond the Standard Model. We employ the helicity amplitude formalism for analysis and highlight the role of new vector-like couplings in charged current interactions. We find, in particular, that while new left handed chiral-vector like interactions contribute to the branching ratio, they do not affect the forward-backward asymmetry, or the angular observables. On the other hand, the right handed chiral vector-like coupling in the case of this decay contributes to the branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry and the angular observables. We confirm that this difference in behavior between the left and right handed NP couplings is a general feature of charged current processes with a vector meson going to a pseudoscalar at the tree level in effective weak theory by cross checking with the cascade decays $B^{*+}_c \rightarrow P(\rightarrow P'\,\mu^+\,\nu_{\mu})\,\ell^{+}\,{\nu}_\ell$ where $P$ is $B_s^0$ ($D^0$) and $P'$ is $D_s^{*-}$ ($K^-$).

LHC and dark matter implications of t-b-{\tau} Yukawa unification in split SUSY GUTs

We investigate a grand unification (GUT) inspired version of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) based on a left-right symmetric $4$-$2$-$2$ gauge group, incorporating Yukawa coupling unification and current phenomenological constraints. Utilizing a split soft supersymmetry-breaking (SSB) parameter space motivated by flavor symmetries, we analyze the implications of recent results from ATLAS, CMS, LHCb, and dark matter direct detection experiments. Our numerical scans, conducted with SARAH and SPheno, identify viable low-energy regions consistent with third-generation Yukawa unification, the observed Higgs boson mass, dark matter relic density, and flavor observables such as $B \to X_s \gamma$, $B_s \to \mu^+ \mu^-$ and $B_u \to \tau \nu_{\tau}$ . Our findings suggest that while current bounds severely constrain much of the MSSM-like parameter space, substantial regions remain experimentally viable and testable in the ongoing LHC run and next-generation dark matter experiments.

Investigating New Physics through the Observables of Semileptonic $B_{s}\to K^{\ast}(\to K \pi)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ Decay

The rare four-fold decay $B_s \to K^*(\to K\pi)\mu^+\mu^- $, governed by the flavor-changing neutral current transition $b \to d\mu^+\mu^-$, provides a sensitive probe for testing the Standard Model (SM) and investigating signatures of new physics (NP). This work presents a comprehensive model-independent analysis of the decay using the framework of the weak effective field theory. We compute a set of key physical observables, including the differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, longitudinal polarization fraction, and several normalized angular coefficients $\langle I_i\rangle$, as a function of the dilepton invariant mass squared $q^2$. The impact of NP is explored via both one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) scenarios involving NP Wilson coefficients $C_7^{\text{NP}}$, $C_9^{(\prime)\text{NP}}$, and $C_{10}^{(\prime)\text{NP}}$. Our findings reveal notable deviations from the SM predictions across multiple observables. Furthermore, we analyze the correlations between different observables and their 2D contour plots which would be useful to further constrain the parametric space of possible NP contributions. This study reinforces the potential of $B_s \to K^* \mu^+ \mu^-$ decay as a complementary channel in the search for physics beyond the SM.

Exploring New Physics in transition $b\to s\,\ell^+\ell^-$ through different $B_c\to D_s^{(\ast)} \,\ell^+\ell^-$ observables

Inspired by the discrepancies observed in the $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ neutral current decays, we study the decay channel $B_c\to D_s^{(\ast)} \,\ell^+\ell^-$ ($\ell=\mu,\tau$), which is based on the same flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) transition at the quark level. The current study shows that this decay channel can provide a useful probe for physics beyond the standard model. We use the helicity formalism while employing the effective theory approach where we include the effects of vector and axial vector `new' physics (NP) operators. In this study, we have computed the branching ratio $\mathcal{B}_r$, the $D^\ast$ helicity fraction $f_L$, the lepton forward-backward asymmetry $\mathcal{A}_{FB}$, and the lepton flavor universality ratio (LFU) $R^{\tau\mu}_{D_s^*}$. In addition, as a complementary check on the LFU, we also calculate the various other LFU observables, $R_{i}^{\tau\mu}$ where $i=A_{FB}$, $f_L$. We assume that the NP universal coupling is present for both muons and tauons, while the non-universal coupling is only present for muons. Regarding these couplings, we employ the latest global fit to the $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ data, which is recently computed in arXiv:2304.07330. We give predictions of some of the mentioned observables within the SM and the various NP scenarios. We have found that not only are the considered observables sensitive to NP but are also helpful in distinguishing among the different NP scenarios. These results can be tested at the LHCb, HL-LHC, and FCC-ee, and therefore, a precise measurements of these observables not only deepens our understanding of the $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ process but also provides a window of opportunity to possibly study various NP scenarios.

Yukawa Unification with light supersymmetric particles consistent with LHC constraints

We investigate supersymmetric models with left-right symmetry based on the group $SU(4)_{c} \times SU(2)_{L} \times SU(2)_{R}$ ($4$-$2$-$2$) with negative sign of bilinear Higgs potential parameter $μ$ in the context of the latest experimental results. In the backdrop of experimental results from the Large Hadron Collider, we investigate the possibility of Yukawa unification in $4$-$2$-$2$ and find out the same is still not ruled out. Furthermore, this scenario also provides a satisfactory dark matter candidate. The current experimental bounds on sparticle masses, mass bounds on Higgs particle, updated phenomenological constraints from the rare decays of B meson and the anomalous magnetic moment of muon with the requirement of a Yukawa unified theory having $10 \%$ or better third family Yukawa unification are utilized to bound the parametric space of these models.

Understanding the muon anomalous magnetic moment in light of a flavor symmetry-based Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model

We investigate whether the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with the scalar masses of the third generation distinct from the first two, in order to be able to accommodate the muon anomalous magnetic moment, is consistent with the latest results from LHCb, direct collider bounds from the ATLAS and CMS experiments. In particular, we show that this class of models allows for satisfying both the constraints from the muon $(g-2)_μ$ experiment and various bounds from the LHC. In addition, such models can also explain the observed dark matter relic density.

3.5 keV X-ray line and R-Parity Conserving Supersymmetry

We present some R-parity conserving supersymmetric models which can accommodate the 3.5 keV X-ray line reported in recent spectral studies of the Perseus galaxy cluster and the Andromeda galaxy. Within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) framework, the dark matter (DM) gravitino (or the axino) with mass of around 7 keV decays into a massless neutralino (bino) and a photon with lifetime ~10^{28} sec. The massless bino contributes to the effective number of neutrino species N_eff and future data will test this prediction. In the context of NMSSM, we first consider scenarios where the bino is massless and the singlino mass is around 7 keV. We also consider quasi-degenerate bino-singlino scenarios where the mass scale of DM particles are O(GeV) or larger. In such a scenario we require the mass gap to generate the 3.5 keV line. We comment on the possibility of a 7 keV singlino decaying via R parity violating couplings while all other neutralinos are heavy.

Top Quark and Higgs Boson Masses in Supersymmetric Models

We study the implications for bounds on the top quark pole mass m_t in models with low scale supersymmetry following the discovery of the Standard Model-like Higgs boson. In the minimal supersymmetric standard model, we find that m_t >= 164 GeV, if the light CP even Higgs boson mass m_h = 125 +-2 GeV. We also explore the top quark and Higgs boson masses in two classes of supersymmetric SO(10) models with t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification at M_GUT. In particular, assuming SO(10) compatible non-universal gaugino masses, setting m_h = 125 GeV and requiring 5% or better Yukawa unification, we obtain the result 172 GeV <= m_t <= 175 GeV. Conversely, demanding 5% or better t-b-tau Yukawa unification and setting m_t=173.2 GeV, the Higgs boson mass is predicted to lie in the range 122 GeV <= m_h <= 126 GeV.

Higgs and Sparticle Spectroscopy with Gauge-Yukawa Unification

We explore the Higgs and sparticle spectroscopy of supersymmetric SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R models in which the three MSSM gauge couplings and third family (t-b-tau) Yukawa couplings are all unified at M_GUT. This class of models can be obtained via compactification of a higher dimensional theory. Allowing for opposite sign gaugino masses and varying m_t within 1 sigma of its current central value yields a variety of gauge-Yukawa unification as well as WMAP compatible neutralino dark matter solutions. They include mixed bino-Higgsino dark matter, stau and gluino coannihilation scenarios, and the A-resonance solution.

t-b-tau Yukawa unification for mu < 0 with a sub-TeV sparticle spectrum

We show compatibility with all known experimental constraints of t-b-tau Yukawa coupling unification in supersymmetric SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R which has non-universal gaugino masses and the MSSM parameter mu < 0. In particular, the relic neutralino abundance satisfies the WMAP bounds and Delta (g-2)_mu is in good agreement with the observations. We identify benchmark points for the sparticle spectra which can be tested at the LHC, including those associated with gluino and stau coannihilation channels, mixed bino-Higgsino state and the A-funnel region. We also briefly discuss prospects for testing Yukawa unification with the ongoing and planned direct detection experiments.

Direct and Indirect Detection and LHC Signals of Bino-Higgsino Dark Matter

If the lightest dark matter neutralino has a sufficiently large Higgsino component, its spin-independent and spin-dependent cross sections on nucleons can be sizable enough to be detected soon in direct and indirect surveys. We outline in this paper some characteristic features expected of mixed bino-Higgsino dark matter. If the observed relic density is saturated by the bino-Higgsino dark matter, it fixes the amount of allowable bino-Higgsino mixing and provides predictions for other observables which can be tested at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We study the correlation between the cross sections and the branching ratio of B_s -> mu^+ mu^-. For a mixed bino-Higgsino dark matter, the mass differences of the neutralinos can be less than M_Z. This will cause an excess of lepton pairs, above the Standard Model predictions, from the decays of the two heavier neutralinos. We discuss implications of the dilepton invariant mass distribution, and outline a way to extract the neutralino parameters for testing gaugino mass unification and deducing the relic density from an interplay of astrophysical detection and LHC measurements.

CDMS II Inspired Neutralino Dark Matter in Flipped SU(5)

We investigate neutralino dark matter in supersymmetric flipped SU(5), focusing on candidates with masses of order 30 - 150 GeV and spin independent cross sections that are consistent with the most recent CDMS II results. We assume gravity mediated supersymmetry breaking and restrict the magnitude of the soft supersymmetry breaking mass parameters to 1 TeV or less. With non-universal soft gaugino and Higgs masses, and taking flipped SU(5) into account, we identify allowed regions of the parameter space and highlight some benchmark solutions including Higgs and sparticle spectroscopy.

Coannihilation Scenarios and Particle Spectroscopy in SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R

We identify a variety of coannihilation scenarios in a supersymmetric SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R model with discrete left-right symmetry. Non-universal gaugino masses, compatible with the gauge symmetry, play an essential role in realizing gluino and bino-wino coannihilation regions that are consistent with the WMAP dark matter constraints. We also explore regions of the parameter space in which the little hierarchy problem is partially resolved. We present several phenomenologically interesting benchmark points and the associated sparticle and Higgs mass spectra.

Yukawa Unification and Neutralino Dark Matter in SU(4)_c \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R

We consider a left-right symmetric SU(4)_c \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R (4-2-2) model with gravity mediated supersymmetry breaking. We find that with 4-2-2 compatible non-universal gaugino masses, t-b-τYukawa coupling unification is consistent with neutralino dark matter abundance and with constraints from collider experiments (except (g-2)_μ). The gluino mass lies close to that of the lightest neutralino, so that the gluino co-annihilation channel plays an important role in determining the neutralino relic abundance. By relaxing the Yukawa unification constraint we find stau and stop masses as low as 200-220 GeV. We highlight some benchmark points for these cases with 40 < \tanβ< 58.

CMSSM Spectroscopy in light of PAMELA and ATIC

Dark matter neutralinos in the constrained minimal supersymmetric model (CMSSM) may account for the recent cosmic ray electron and positron observations reported by the PAMELA and ATIC experiments either through self annihilation or via decay. However, to achieve this, both scenarios require new physics beyond the 'standard' CMSSM, and a unified explanation of the two experiments suggests a neutralino mass of order 700 GeV - 2 TeV. A relatively light neutralino with mass around 100 GeV (300 GeV) can accomodate the PAMELA but not the ATIC observations based on a model of annihilating (decaying) neutralinos. We study the implications of these scenarios for Higgs and sparticle spectroscopy in the CMSSM and highlight some benchmark points. An estimate of neutrino flux expected from the annihilating and decaying neutralino scenarios is provided.

Soft Probes of SU(5) Unification

We explore the sparticle and Higgs spectroscopy of an SU(5) inspired extension of the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (CMSSM). The universal soft parameter m_0 is replaced by m_{\bar 5} and m_{10}, where m_{\bar 5} and m_{10} denote universal soft scalar masses associated with fields in the five and ten dimensional representations of SU(5). The special case m_{\bar 5} << m_{10} yields a rather characteristic sparticle spectroscopy which can be tested at the LHC. We highlight a few benchmark points in which the lightest neutralino saturates the WMAP bound on cold dark matter abundance.
