Scalar dark matter in an extra dimension inspired model

In this work we consider a singlet scalar propagating in a flat large extra dimension. The first Kaluza-Klein mode associated to this singlet scalar will be a viable dark matter candidate. The tower of new particles enriches the calculation of the relic density due effect of coannihilation. For large mass splitting, the model converges to the predictions of the singlet dark matter model. For nearly degenerate mass spectrum, coannihilations increase the cross sections used for direct and indirect dark matter searches. We investigate the impact of the Kaluza-Klein tower associated to singlet scalar for indirect and direct detection of dark matter.

Galactic positrons and electrons from astrophysical sources and dark matter

A very interesting puzzle about the origin of electron and positron cosmic rays is deduced from the latests experimental results. We model the propagation of such cosmic rays in terms of a successfully tested two--zone propagation model. Several theoretical uncertainties -- like ones related to propagation -- are considered to study different types of electron and positron sources: dark matter annihilation, secondary production, and supernova remnants.

Galactic positrons and electrons from dark matter and astrophysical sources

The electron and positron cosmic rays observations have impulsed a hot debate regarding the origin of such particles. Their propagation in the galactic medium is modeled according to a successfully tested two--zone propagation model. The theoretical uncertainties related to their propagation and production are studied for three cases: secondary production, Dark Matter annihilation, and originating from supernovae remnants.

Anti-Matter in Cosmic Rays : Backgrounds and Signals

Recent PAMELA and ATIC data seem to indicate an excess in positron cosmic rays above approximately 10 GeV which might be due to galactic Dark Matter particle annihilation. However the background of this signal suffers many uncertainties that make our task difficult in constraining Dark Matter or any other astrophysical explanation for these recent surprising data.
